Clues

"We've found some clues. And the clues point to the vampire nation. A curse that can change blood, is a curse made by a very strong person. It is possible that the druids also did this. But after interrogating the sorcerers who came from the druids and gathering evidence, we discovered the fact that the person who cursed Miss Alyuura was a vampire."

Lucas looked around, the old house looked very dusty and dull. Lots of cobwebs and also rats hanging around there. Of course, the house had not been inhabited for years and was neglected, there must have been a lot of animals like that in the house.

Lucas then opened a cloth bag that was handed over by his subordinate. He opened the pouch and found a monster bone that was still as strong as steel. The bone appears to have been broken and some of its pieces were taken.

"Where did you find this Dura Cornum bone?" Lucas asked. "So far, many people have given up on killing this creature."

Dura Cornum is a creature in the form of a monster that is the hidden pet of the Minotaur.

Yes, this hidden creature is not hidden because it endangers many people. However, because of rumors circulating that anyone who can take the contents of the Dura Cornum bone, will be able to grant a curse or their wish instantly.

"We found this bone in a hidden area far from here. Precisely in the forest area that is believed to be the forest where Moirai is."

Lucas snorted in laughter. "Moirai? Apparently you guys still believe in that forest. Moirai won't go down to that forest of death. Even grass won't grow there."

"However...."

Lucas glanced at his subordinate. "Just explain. I'm not telling you to keep the information alone."

"Sorry, sir. But, after I gathered information, it is true that it was once the place of Moirai. Even though it was only a stopover place, if called seriously, they would actually approach that place."

Lucas had never heard of this story. He had some doubts about the information his informant had received. But rather than rebutting too much, he preferred to listen to the explanation carefully.

"Summoned? As far as I know, Moirai are the three goddesses of destiny. Does that mean that person's purpose there with the contents of this Dura Cornum bone is to ask for a new destiny to the goddess?" Lucas asked.

"Your guess is the same as ours. The contents of this bone are actually a composition used in magic rituals. Many people don't know that Moirai can grant a wish that changes destiny. However, the reward they ask for is also not an easy matter. "

Lucas looked at the remains of the creature called the Dura Cornum. He thought about the explanation his subordinate had given him earlier. If they had used the extremely rare Dura Cornum to obtain, it would mean that their wish would be fulfilled by that Moirai.

"This makes me anxious. There is one thing that really bothers me. I'm quite worried that the person I have to kill is Moirai herself. There's no way I could kill a goddess," Lucas said. His subordinates nodded and understood how Lucas was feeling now.

Lucas was not feeling inferior about his strength. Of course he had great strength and could face that Moirai figure. He also had many and powerful subordinates, but killing a goddess was crucial. There will be big problems.

Lucas is not afraid that he will face big problems, he is also not afraid of having to fight and fight many parties later. But what he was worried about was Alyuura. He didn't want Alyuura to be the victim of that incident. Since this murder was intended to release the curse attached to Alyuura, surely Alyuura would experience the effects of that event if it really happened later. Surely Alyuura will face a great fate as well as painful circumstances.

Lucas didn't want that to happen.

"You don't have to think like that, Lucas."

Lucas glanced out of the corner of his eye, he saw a pair of feet in old loafers standing not far from him. Those thin, slender legs and that distinctive voice made Lucas know who he was talking to now was Yaris.

"Why? Wasn't it them who made the curse?" Lucas asked.

"Even though they granted fate, the curse wasn't formed because of that. They just distorted dimensional friction, that's all. I think you know everything," said Yaris.

Lucas understood the complicated Yaris explanation. But, he needed the gist of the explanation.

"Just straight to the point, I don't need to know the complicated system of making curses," Lucas said.

"You should know," said Yaris. "Because, every part of the curse has an important part. And sometimes, breaking the curse can start by looking for a gap in it."

Lucas didn't budge, he hadn't found out much about curses so far. He was already too busy with his other business, and the curse was quite complicated to learn. Lucas didn't understand why a lazy person like Yaris would want to learn about curses.

But Yaris is smart, he knows a lot of things. But he is lazy, and the knowledge he has is only stored as knowledge and is not managed.

"So?" Lucas asked. He sharpened his gaze slightly.

"Just kill the vampire. Then the curse will be over, according to your original plan," said Yaris.

"That's all? It's an easy thing. I'm grateful that I don't have to kill troublesome parties," Lucas said.

Yaris laughed softly, too softly and even just like a grunt. "Your words make you look like a coward."

"I'm not afraid, I just don't want Alyuura to be badly affected if I make the wrong decision."

"But for sure, the vampire you will face is a vampire equivalent to the strongest Werewolf like yourself. Judging from the amount of energy needed to make the curse," said Yaris. He then realized something and snapped his fingers. "That means you have to focus on keeping an eye on the noble vampires. Since the amount of magical energy used to make the curse is very large, the one who made the agreement must be the vampire nobles."
