"Wow! That meal felt a little different. It was like the twist of something tasty and something without any taste." Alan's eyes shone with bright light as he looked at Rose and asked.
"Hehe! That's how you make breakfast. It is not heavy but also not light. It is filled with nutrition and also fills your stomach until lunch." A smile bloomed on her face when she got praised. Rose pulled a proud expression as she explains.
"Alright, since we finished our breakfast, let's go to the royal meeting. This is your first day, so you might make some mistakes. Don't take those to your heart! Just act like when you are in the carriage, not like when you were in my arms." Alan couldn't help but silent laugh at her.
"You!!!" Rose looked at Alan with frustration. When she was in his arms, she acted like a true lover, completely opposite to her cold attitude in the carriage. She knew she had given a heads up to Alan. Now, he knows that she loves him.
The same goes for her! She also knows that he loves her. But, there was a wall that was stopping them from confessing to each other.
"Alright! Alright! I won't tease you. Let's move or we will be late." Alan smirked and pulled her hand towards the door. Rose wanted to withdraw her hand but finally decided not to do so.
Alan silently smiled when she gave up struggling. Both of them walked out of the special kitchen. Outside, few people were waiting for them. One of them was specifically a tall man wearing a black suit. He had a cold look on his face even when he was facing Rose.
Next to him, there was Stain and her maids. When they saw Alan holding Rose's hand, they slightly glanced at each other and nodded their head. In their mind, a secret agreement was made.
Alan stood in front of them and looked at Rose. His lips curved "You know others. As for this guy, he is one of my trusted subordinates. He is also one of the main generals in our army. He might feel untouchable and cold guy but he has a big heart. His name is Sebastian."
When Stain and those maids heard those words, they all thought the same thing.
'Look who is talking!'
Rose nodded but didn't look at him. She felt uncomfortable just by his gaze. She freed herself from Alan's grasp and walked near her maid, asking "Did you finish your breakfast?"
"Yes, your highness!" The maids were startled when Rose asked them such a question but still replied with a bow.
"A queen shouldn't ask such low-level questions." Suddenly, a cold voice rang in her ears. Rose was startled by his words. The maids suddenly trembled in fear. They are not only weak in terms of power but also in terms of status.
Alan's eyebrows twitched a little but he didn't say anything. Suddenly, Rose walked in front of Sebastian and glared at his eyes, asking "Is that so? Then, I would like to ask. Are you the queen or am I the queen? Do you dictate what I have to say or do I? Would you like to answer me, general?"
At this moment, maids and stain were startled by her questions. And, not just question, even her tone, and aura had changed. It was cold like Alan and aloof like a queen. When she spoke, it felt like she was sitting on the throne and looking down on them.
Sebastian was also startled by her. He thought she was just a weak-minded girl with weak strength. But, he didn't lose his attitude and spoke with high-tone "It seems our queen doesn't know the basic knowledge of royalty. A queen shouldn't bother herself with maids and servants."
Hearing his words, a cold smirk appeared on her lips. She turned her head at Alan and asked "Husband, who has the more authority in the kingdom? Is it a queen or a general?"
"Of course, it's a queen. Did you forget what I said to you this morning?" Alan sighed when he saw his wife conflicting with his most trusted general. He wanted to stop them. But, he wanted to see her limit as well.
"I was just wondering if General Sebastian remembers this well. After all, this is the second time you are questioning your queen, general? As a most powerful and trusted SUBORDINATE of my husband, aren't you overriding your authority?" Rose spoke with a mocking tone as she looked at his eyes.
Sebastian narrowed his eyes when she made a powerful argument. He couldn't find an excuse. Rose asked a simple question but he wanted to make her feel bad. Because of his previous thoughts on her, he didn't realize she was actually a proud girl.
And now, he was stuck. Questioning her makes him like someone who overstepped her authority but he doesn't want to admit defeat as well. After all, he had the pride of being the strongest and trusted subordinate of Alan.
"Alright, let's just end this here! Sebastian was reminding you about the normal behavior of the normal queens. So, he overstepped your authority." Alan sighed when he saw the expression on Sebastian's face. Sebastian wasn't just a normal subordinate for me.
He was also a close friend like Stain. But, unlike Stain, he was very conscious about his actions as royal.
"It's alright, husband! I was just reminding general Sebastian that the world is not black and white. You can't be perfect. You can't be the strongest. You can't be the smartest. You can't be good or evil."
"So, when you decide to teach someone about morale and rules, open your eyes wide and see the world from the top of the well," Rose spoke as she passed by him. She didn't know why but she felt very uncomfortable with his aura.
And, she was also mad at him for interfering with her actions. She had lived a life as a commoner. And, just because she is now a queen doesn't mean she will be cold to everyone and follow royal ethics and rules.
'Your Majesty, we have a situation. Please hurry to the royal meeting!' Suddenly, a voice rang on Alan's head startling him. He extended his hand and held her hand while walking towards the royal meeting. Jean, Ketty, Laura, and Erie followed her.
Stain slowly walked to Sebastian's side and puts his hand on his shoulder.
"Her highness made the first genius of the human race fall in love with her while keeping her family safe. You understand the royals and nobles more than me. So, you must understand not to mess with her."
"She might seem weak and pitiful. But, don't forget she is the girl whom his majesty genuinely adores."
