The royal maid (2)

'She smells like him,' Marcus thought starting at Havanna.

The palace was huge especially since he had expanded the house of the Seat. The palace stretched far and wide, so it was hard to keep up with every face that worked in the palace.

"Wait," the princess spoke out before Havanna could walk away. "That hair pin, it looks like mine," she uttered loudly letting everyone hear her.

Havanna froze. She was no fool, the statement from the princess was insinuating that she had stolen the hair pin. Which was far from the truth.

"Where did you get that hair pin?" The second prince inquired from her.

The poor palace maid lowered her head. They were royalty while she was but a lowly servant. It wasn't in her place to fight them or answer back.

"My things were being moved into the palace since yesterday. She must have stolen it thinking that she won't get caught," the princess said firmly.
