chapter 2 I HAD NO CHOICE

we need to talk ' he said cowardly ' it's about our daughter ' Looking at Uriel's facial expression, something was wrong and I couldn't help but be afraid of what could possibly be wrong with my very own child, I could feel the tension in the air as Uriel suddenly went silent, and I was anxious to know what could possibly have happened.

''ummm.....well ummm you see it's ummm '' he was stammering and I couldn't take the suspense anymore " what is with wrong my daughter" !! i asked slightly worried as a frown appeared on my face " what have you done this time, I hope you didn't get us in trouble again "!!!

he let out a long sigh, as though he was mastering up some courage, when he looked up to me with his alluringly ,gorgeous, green eyes, that were slightly watery.

"well you see I sold off our daughter to the city brothel, I am really sorry, but I had no choice " my heart sunk, as I felt it shatter to pieces, I felt like the world around me was crushing down , I was traumatized by your father's actions, such that I went completely silent for a few minutes "you sold off our house, you sold off our fields, you sold off practically everything you owned, but selling your own flesh and blood is just too much Uriel !!, I will not allow you to take away the only prescious thing we have left in world" I said with so much pain and tears in my eyes, I couldn't loose my only child, I just couldn't

" I know it wasn't the best decision but, there is nothing we can do about it , you know the brothel is owned by solon, the most powerful man in this city, and going against him will only mean death for us, including our daughter, "

'but sending her to that place is as good as a death sentence, I wanted to raise my daughter in a way that is different from how people behave in this city, this place is filled with thieves, drunkards, prostitutes, murders and criminals, it was supposed to be your duty to protect her from all that but instead you sold her off to be like them, why Uriel why " I said as I couldn't contain my anger anymore, tears just poured from my eyes as I was hitting his chest in anger.

and for some reason he seemed to have been calm about this whole situation, which only infuriated me even more.

Uriel stayed silent for a while, as he held me closer to him, and whispered in my ears " I'll find a way to get her out this mess I put her in, I'll find a way "

His words slightly calmed me down, but deep down we both knew there was no way out of this mess, even if we tried to run away, we would be hunted down and brutally killed without a second thought. all we could do is wait for the day our daughter would be taken away from us. how sad I felt thinking of the day you would be taken away from me and there was absolutely nothing I could do about it .
