Jamie smiled and pulled his hand until he crouched over to her height.

"Oh, Alex! Are you a chicken?" Jamie asked him in a singing voice.

"I am king over the largest hemisphere in Derkal, woman! I am not a chicken!"

"Prove it, his Highness. Show me Derkal as a commoner and not as the great King. You might even learn a thing or two"

Jamie stared at the king in front of her and she knew she might be pushing her luck by making Alexander dress up as a pauper for a day. But she had come to realize from her time in the forest that there were two ways to view a kingdom, one from the eyes of a regular citizen and secondly, high up from the castle. And more often than usual the regular citizens were right.

"Can I at least provide my own disguise, Janessa?"

"Why? I picked this pauper clothes especially for you, Milord"
