Chapter two hundred and three: jumping moons.

Zuri watched the door of his cage like he was waiting for a celestial being. He was on his toes and so self aware that he had begged the dungeon guard for water to clean himself a bit and was very disappointed when his request was strongly denied.

He has counted up to fifty yet no one came through the door.

"She is not coming" he murmured to himself and finally got himself to look away.

"Who is not coming?"

The voice made him look up quickly and a tiny smile spread like wildfire across his face.

"Rosemund" he murmured.

Rosemund dropped the basket she was holding on the ground and spread the mat she was holding on the filthy floor and sat down.

"Were you actually waiting for…me?" Rosemund asked him.

Zuri cleared his throat. He knew he looked unpleasant and nothing was going to change that.

"Did you bring the book?" He asked her instead.
