Getting 40 total stats from a common item was really strong, it wasn't as useful as his ring or bracelet but it could definitely sell for a lot when he made a new one that had a more useful ability or more stats. Even if it didn't have the immediate stats

[Jeweler Class Level Up]

Euphoria filled his body once again with his level up.

[Princess Gem Cutting Technique]

Allows the user to cut gems into a princess shape.

[Duel Gem Technique] Learned

This one was a lot less of a contest. Gem cutting wasn't all that useful, and aspect of speed isn't as versatile as the duel gem technique. Using two gems let a lot of combos that wouldn't be possible otherwise to be created and optimized. This skill was also a precursor to the tri, quad, and penta gem techniques, which all also had their own purpose. He came out of his training dimension somewhat tired, but with such an increased amount of endurance it wasn't too bad.

Wai returned shortly after to see the box of rings open.

"JAKE, I swear if you didn't die from opening that box, I will kill you myself."

"B-before you kill me, c-can I tell you about the rings?"

It was clear she was mad, and pushed his back against the door, blocking it so she wouldn't be able to get in without breaking it. He knew that he would probably have to fix the door if she broke it, but it would be worth it if he could at least explain it to her before she killed him.

"They drain a small portion of whoever wears its strength every day and gives it to its master."

"What."

She was confused enough to forget her anger

"If that's true, who has the skills and would do this to our sect?"

"It's someone named Master Doxen, but I'm not sure who that is, I could just tell because it was inscribed in the rings."

"That slippery bastard, he is from the infernal toxin sect, one of their high powered users. But he shouldn't have left a trace, only a jeweler could find that. And they know that we don't have many here, so that's why they did that. The basterds."

Wai was once again overwhelmed with rage, but this time it wasn't directed toward him so he was safe for now.

"I need to blow off steam after I tell master Zed, go to the arena with a spear and prepare for a beating."

Or not…

He was once again fearing for his safety, but this time he would probably survive. He was only waiting for a few minutes when she arrived, looking even more mad than before. He held up his spear just in time for he sword to crash into it, knocking his footing off and throwing him back several feet. He was once again just barely able to block after repositioning his feet. Footwork was a core part of fighting, and as good as he was getting it was no match for the blade that slammed into his chest. He blinked and she was already behind him with a slash that felt like it broke his back. It had only been a few seconds and he already felt like he was dying.

She was juggling him in the air with repeated kicks, punches, and slashes up and down. He could block every few attacks, but he was in so much pain that he couldn't focus. His claws came out of his hands and feet before he started to actually block. He could use his claws pretty effectively, but still could only block about half. He still didn't have the chance to counter attack, but at least his feet were on the ground and he could position his feet. His abilities with a spear really was no match for the tiger claws.

He was using his ki and mana together to make them as strong as possible, but after just another few minutes he was too damaged to keep fighting. When she finally stopped Jake looked dead inside and out. He just wanted to take a bit of time to recover and relax, but going to sleep would just send him back to school where he would once again fight.

Jake woke up early in the morning so he could make some breakfast before heading out. This room was most likely temporary, so he had not set anything up. His kitchen was filled with people, not only that but the older student had made griffen eggs for everyone. Griffin eggs were somewhat rare, but there were some farms so they had dropped to about 15 per egg. One of the sixth years was also a chief, so the food she made gave stats.

[Dexterity +3](12 Hours)

"Schedule is out today, is everyone ready to show what you got?"

Everyone was excited. They had one shot to show how strong they are, and only one. If they failed this then then they would be stuck in a group of weaklings for the entire semester until you were given the option to change, and even then you could only get in a good group if another member died and they chose you.
