Chapter 34

Fortunately, the dungeon had just formed so there was no field boss and they had no reason to fight the actual boss so they could just leave. They had to clear a few dozen monsters before making it to the portal out, but Jake didn't bother participating as his contributions would be too little to matter.

"Before we go back to the portal, can you make sure not to tell anyone what you saw today?"

Jake didn't have any plans to sell information, there weren't a lot of things that were deemed immoral in the eyes of the school, but sharing secret information was one of them that could even be an expellable offense if the info was sensitive enough.

"Of course. But I want to ask a favor of you first. Can I have the slime golem cores? I can't really pay you for them but I need them for a quest I have."

The Skyfall group was only there to change the dungeon and get out, the only reason they would have for the cores was money, and being able to clear higher level dungeons made them relatively inexpensive to them.

"Oh sure. Do you have an inventory yet?"

"Sure. You two also look pretty strong for first years, call me if you want a guild spot let me know."

"I'll remember this, and thank you."

Jake took the slime golem cores and porseded outside the warscape.

[Lang Impact is grateful, and gifts you with her engagement ring.]

The ring appeared in his hand, it was golden with silver sides and a clear gem in the shape of a star resting on it. Unlike most rings, the gem was inside of it without messing with its texture too much. He didn't want Lexy to see the ring in case she recognized it, so he put it in his inventory quickly before saying their goodbyes.

"Actually we have hearthstones, so we can get back to our dorm without much issue"

Lexy said, reminding Jake that he had it on him. They both activated their hearthstones to the dorms. Jake didn't get the chance to appraise the ring he got, but it was from another family so he was probably not going to wear it.

"I will get you your ring soon, and thanks for all the rewards. Also I will give you some points once I've turned in the drops for the dungen."

They were being fairly casual as they had been previously, but Lexy was visibly more nervous now than earlier. She was sweating, which the elves didn't do to temperature. Elfs would leak a little bit of mana or spirit to cool off, so he knew she was worried about something else.

That being said, Jake barely knew her, so he decided to go back to his room before class instead of questioning further. He started by praising his new ring.

[Impact Family Engagement Ring][Low Common Rank]

Passive Skill[Impact Heritage]

Magic +2

Mana +20

[Impact Heritage]

All stats and skills are 100% more effective when worn by a direct descendant or member of the impact family.

It had much better materials than its stats and rank, and its design was very interesting and worth using. Jake checked the gem, and sure enough it was a wind element one, meaning that Jake could re-make it with better detail and transfer the skill to let Lexy get double effects.

The problem was that he only had one wind gem, and she wanted a ring with wind ability so he would need at least one more gem if he wanted to give it another skill. He knew what he had to do and immediately went back down to the point exchange spot.

"Hey, I just raided a dunguin and want to turn in these two items"

He handed over the boots and vest.

"Let's see… The vest is worth 37 points and the boots are 44 is there anything else we can do for you today. One point for the full appraisal stats."

Jake wasn't close to getting to be able to wear them, so he simply exchanged them.

"How much for two half carat wind gems?"

"25 each."

He paid the fifty points, ending up with 32 points when he left. Upon re-entering his training dimension he received a new quest.

[Dungeon Maker]

Have 100 base points in a single stat [48/100]

Rewards

[Crafters Dungeon Creator]

'Create Dungeons? My dimentanial talent must be insanely high!?!'

Jake was happy about this quest, but even so it would take a good amount of time if he wanted to complete it. Jake had no indication about how much worth a single point would have, but getting another two stats in magic wouldn't be too difficult. But for the moment, he wanted to get his newest craft done.

He started off by using the gem cutter to shape the gems into stars that matched the one on the engagement ring. He knew that she was level 9, so he couldn't make it any higher than common rank so there was no reason to add any monster parts or special engravings in it. The entire thing was very straightforward with him just making three small rings and combining them, and then finishing it off by hammering the stars into it.

The original only had one star in it, so he put the other two on opposite sides of it with its point facing the same way to main one was, finishing off and giving him a total of 800 experience, just 200 away from his next class level up. It only ended up having two skills, so after he transferred over the heritage ability and appraised it.
