Chapter 59

He called them over so that they could load all of the red ice powder into their inventories. Jake took the vials and they left the powder maker there to grab later. Jake grabbed the sword and they started moving to the boss room. This time, the traps didn't go off. The skeletons didn't even move, and when they entered the room, there was nothing except for a stone coffin. Everything they had read was now false, but Jake now opened it up and placed the sword of justice in with the armored skeleton.

Immediately the entire room lit up with a golden glow, and after it dissipated they could see the armored skeleton, holding the sword and speaking to them.

"Thank you for clearing the corruption here. I am eternally grateful, here are the remaining rewards from my dungeon. I no longer have a need for them."

Suddenly, 4 different pairs of boots and gloves appeared.

The golden light flashed once again, and they appeared outside the dungeon as it closed behind them. The other rewards they got were also transported out, but they weren't able to take back the powder maker, but otherwise they got everything. They all moved to the common room of Lexy's group and took out the rewards they had gotten. They were all okay gear, but Jake straight up couldn't use gauntlets due to his bracelets, and the boots were pretty heavy and would slow him down quite a bit just for a bit of vitality. He also could only wear the common ones so he would do better with just money.

Jake didn't show them the vials, they were kept in constantly electrified glass so they wouldn't move or break out, so he might have been able to use them in crafting. There was one other big thing that they had to talk about. The massive amount of drugs. Red ice was purely for pleasure and extremely addictive, but wasn't illegal to have or use once awakened so they kind of just had it.

The main reason for it being for the passive skill addict that appeared when taking the first time. Many drugs were addictive due to their properties, but this one relied entirely on the addict effect. Fortunately for Jake, he was immune to this. There were other drugs that would also nutrulice the addictive properties. Kristena had some of them on hand, and passed them out. Jake was the first to suggest doing the drugs, mostly because he had never tried and was very curious. After looking it up he found that 100% purity was very rare and good, so this would probably be his only chance.

He took a noseful of powder along with the other two, and almost immediately everyone else started laughing.

[You have ingested red ice]

[Red Ice][Peak Common Grade][14% Efficacy]

[Dampens users ability to think, activates happy parts of the brain. May cause hallucinations]

[Absorption Needed: 1 Second]

[Time till digestion: 10 Hours]

[Will have 5% original effectiveness if disgusted.]

Seeing its efficacy value, he knew that using other ingredients or perhaps better techniques there were versions many times better than the red ice he currently had. But he didn't really want to think of it and instead absorbed it and joined the group in laughing immediately.

When Jake woke up, he was feeling better than normal and started moving almost immediately. Grabbing all of his stuff. And starting his way down the road. Nobody stopped him from leaving the sect, despite him still owing them money. But at this point he was still very calm and happy from the night before. He didn't remember most of it, but he felt relaxed in a good way for the first time in weeks.

The shining sun was very comforting on his face in a way he didn't have in his homeworld. Jake had only ever lived in the suburbs and cities, where most of the air was pretty low quality and natural wind was very rare. This world didn't have the system, advanced technology, or dungeons, which made the world feel so much more natural to him.

He felt like nothing could ruin his day… until it did. He had forgotten to take off his bracelets and put them in his inventory, so the only combat skill he had was decay enhancement, and he didn't bring any weapons outside of the sword he couldn't use and a halberd as a worst case scenario, which had just come. A group of bandits could feel his ki was somewhat weak compared to theirs, and even with spacel reconstruction letting him know before they attacked, he could barely avoid their first strike. He was taking punches and only focusing on blocking the swords.

He used his ki to make him stronger by channeling it into his weapon, but he wasn't fast enough or strong enough to pierce their skin. His stamina, health, and ki were all going down slow, but faster than theirs, so he did his final option. He didn't want to reveal to anyone what he could do, but he didn't have a choice. He channeled his mana into the halberd as it started to turn green. The darkening color seemed to intimidate them, and with a single twist the blade cut them all down. There was one still in a tree, but he threw the still empowered weapon directly at her head, killing her instantly.
