Susan opened the door of the room where Myrtle had spent the night, she was trying to be as quiet as possible as to not wake up Myrtle but she saw her sitting at the edge of the bed looking out of the drawn window, She was twisting her fingers nervously while her facial muscles were all tensed up. The almost inaudible sound of the door made her jump in fright.
"What happened?" She asked with wide-opened eyes as if she had sensed something horrible coming her way. Susan felt pain in her heart as she saw Myrtle in such a sad situation. She shook her head sideways and spoke to her in a motherly tone.
"I just brought in some breakfast for you, You will be needing a lot of energy today."
Myrtle stared at her blankly for a while and then nodded. Susan felt relieved when she saw Myrtle agreeing to eat something. She opened the door to the room widely and another maid pushed in a tray of food.
