'You got up from there pretty fast. Did something happen?" Elef walked up to her as soon as the first splash of water hit Myrtle's face. She opened her eyes and the water was still dripping off her eyelashes. She quickly straightened up and looked at her with a stiff expression.
"Yeah! Everything is fine. I was just freshening up as I was a little tired. Nothing much. Myrtle replied and proceeded to smile.
"Stop it! You can't fool me with that fake smile of yours, I have known you for over a decade so that painted expressions can't fool me." Elef said in a fed-up voice. Myrtle was facing her with her back toward the mirror she held onto the counter and looked at her with a blank face. Thinking if she should share her current feelings with Elef or not. All she wanted with her new life was to put an end to her past feelings yet they were becoming a hindrance for her now.
