Everything

The bar around them was messy. Few broken chairs and tables and the bodies of the huge men laid on the wooden floor. Some lay on the pool of their blood. The bar wasn't that filled any more.

One of the workers had already ran to call Gorav before the fight had heated. He had just arrived and met the wreckage.

Gorav groaned as his eyes scanned the broken bottles, the broken furniture and blood on the floor then he saw Darla and Daryn at the bar table with a new guy next to them. They had mugs in front of them. Relaxing after the fight. His workers had already fill him on the fight details. He walk to them at the table.

"So much for VIP experience" Daryn muttered to himself when he saw Gorav approahing.

When Gorav reached the table, Darla greeted him warmly. She stood up and gave him a bear hug and staggered a little. Gorav held her by the shoulders watching her with concern in his eyes.

"How are you healer? I hope they did not injure you?"

"They couldn't Gorav I'm fine. I told Anya i was coming to see her earlier is she still awake?"

"No. Her mother put her to sleep already. Besides, you need to rest yourself"

Darla nodded then Daryn spoke.

"Gorav, do you know any of these men? Have you seen them before?"

"Actually, i do know them they are customers and some are from the village warriors. The other guy i think a hunter" Gorav says pointing to the guy that had attacked with a knife.

"I noticed they weren't new to combact. Honestly, they would have finished us easily if they were not so drunk" Darla mused.

"They wouldn't have attacked you if they were not drunk either" Gorav piped

Daryn combed a hand through his hair. "I don't know,... but i think they planned this. Did you see the way they came for us" he turned to Darla looking into her eyes as if to pass an information to her which she caught no doubt.

"Yes they came from all corners of the room with their weapons...in hand" Eric said which surprised Gorav a little.

"Who would plan to attack you people though." Gorav asked.

"Who and why is not relevant" Darla said as she sipped the rest of her drink. "I need sleep. I'm already tipsy thanks to you Daryn" she chuckled and stood up but staggered and almost fell. Daryn caught her just on time.

"Is Darla drunk?" Daryn asked laughter in his voice. Darla struggled a bit before relaxing in his arms.

"I'll take her to the room."

"Um, Daryn can you get me a room. I kinda emptied my pocket at the market" Eric asked.

Daryn sighed. "I knew this would happen. You always do this Eric" He tsked.

"You can sleep in Darla's room. Thats if she won't kill you for it, I'll open her room door when i have tucked her in" Daryn said as he carried Darla in his arms close to his chest. He left the bar and climbed the stairs to the rooms.

When he reached their room floor he walked straight to his room door. Adjusted Darla on his chest enough so he could take out his key and open the door.

He layed her on the bed gently. Removing a loose strand of hair from her face. "Its my turn to take care of you..."

"Well that's what you get for entering a drinking contest with me" he said smugly and started removing her shoes. Removed her hunting knife from her belt still covered in the blood of her attacker. Then proceeded to remove the belt and leather straps on her chest. Leaving only the light cloth she wore under the leather.

He put the belt on the near table and hung the leather top to the small wardrobe in the room after washing the knife, he put in her belt. Then he went out the room to ask the inn workers for a hot bath.

He met Eric exiting the bar then they both returned to the room. Daryn organised Darla's belongings in her bag and placed them at the foot of the bed along with the goods she had bought.

"If she tells me later on that she is looking for anything_i mean anything, you are dead Eric" he said in a stone cold voice then turned to face Eric. "I'll chase you till the ends of Azra"

Eric was not planning on stealing anything but he was definitely scared at the treat. His friend had a life threatening energy coming off him. Eric felt like he was in the presence of the devil himself. He felt a chill run down his spine.

How dangerous has his friend become?

"I..i promise you i have no such intent" Eric said almost cowering.

"Hmm" Daryn nodded then walked to the door.

"You love her don't you?" Eric asked just before Daryn opened the door.

Daryn took in a long breath then asked. "What do you think Eric?" then he left the room.

When he got to his own room he found Darla still sleeping. He began to remove his leathers to change into something loose.

Not long after he heard a knock on the door as the inn worker brought hot water and new soap for his bath. He thanked her even tipping her then locked the room door when she left and took a hot bath.

After cleaning himself up he crawled into the bed and immediately fell asleep Darla slept right beside him.

Daryn felt a body move beside him on impulse he snapped his eyes open to the darkness to see who it was that moved. In less than a second, his eyes adapted to the low light and he saw Darla's face before his. She was stairing at him with her glowing eyes.

"Your eyes are glowing Daryn" she said.

"Hmm. Yours are also glowing"

She blinked then nodded her head. She was resting on her elbows on Daryns right side. After starring at each other for some seconds, She sucked in a breath and then layed back on the bed. Daryns arm below her head.

"What is it" Daryn asked. Darla sighed then looked towards the ceiling.

"I seek" She finally replied

Daryn turned to face her resting his head on his own extended hand. "What do you seek"

"I seek information on a mystery..." Darla said then turned to face Daryn looking him in the eyes. Those glowing amber eyes. "A mystery before me" she lightly traced his face with her imdex finger. As if she was carving his face in the darkness. "You feel it don't you? the...connection"

Daryn raised his hand to where hers traced his face she didn't withdraw from him. He squeezed her hand a little then intertwined their hands feelling her soft but firm hands.

"Tell me about yourself Daryn" she said just barely above a whisper. Daryn sucked in a breath. He searched her eyes trying to know her intentions but he read only curiosity.

Daryn closed his eyes savouring the feel of her hand on his face. "What do you want to know Darla?" He opened his eyes then and looked into her eyes.

"Everything"

"Hmm. First I want to thank you for the care you have showed me for the past weeks since my accident."

"Its what i do Daryn. Stop thanking me too much" Darla said a sharp edge in her voice.

Daryn chuckled. "Ok i won't." He sighed then continued " My name is Daryn, i arrived in Azra from a world called Earth. Since i was little, i have only known Earth as were i was born, were i grew up until recently when my real mother found me and showed me who i really was. That Azra was where i was born and i didn't accidentally arrive as i thought but brought back."

He hesitated looking at Darla to see how she would react to what he was telling her. The woman just continued tracing lines on his face and....listening. He continued

"She took me to her home and helped me get my memories back explaining that she had sent me away to protect me" he said. Summerizing it all.

When Darla saw he was not speaking further she asked. "Where is your mother? What is her name?"

Daryn sighed then held onto the hand on his face. "My mother's name is Selene....the moon goddess."
