"Oh mother," Daryn sighed.
Selene just waved a hand at Daryns laments as she waited.
"Have you heard of Alexis?"
"Yes, he's Ra's screw loose champion... and has a series of escapades too"
"Escapades?! That son of a bitch has gone rogue and is killing anyone that poses as a competition to him"
"Ah i heard. Don't worry about him he is just throwing tantrums since Ra refuses to give him a kingdom of his own. The boy wishes to lead"
Daryn was stunned. "You do know that his 'tantrums' are a risk especially now Darla wants to follow me now"
"Your newly accepted mate... i seriously don't see any threats shadowing her"
"What?!" Daryn jumped from the grass he was lying on and stared at his mother. "She'll be as good as dead if she comes across Alexis_ how can't you see that?"
"Then don't take her with you" Selene answered simply. "You have that choice. Azra's jungles is the safest place she can be at this time"
Daryn knew that she was not wrong. Since any place outside the jungle posed a threat to any champion, Darla couldn't follow him. She would be safer in the jungles. As least she could stay. He wished he could...
He started pacing. Thinking of ways to avert the choice he had to make. He stopped pacing and knelt on the grass with heavy shoulders when he saw no way around it all.
"Its not fair" Daryn managed to say as his voice lost strength. "I can't be apart from her...We haven't even completed the bonding"
Selene sighed and walked to were he knelt with sagging shoulders. He footsteps so light anyone would think she was not even touching the ground as she moved. She put her delicate hands on her son's shoulders
"It might not seem fair now my son but its the best choice at the moment. You wouldn't want her dead on a course she knows nothing about."
Daryn just stared at his ground as tears started to well in his eyes. " She's my mate mom. I haven't met her for centuries. Who knows, my lineage could continue with her"
"I have no doubt that she is your other half but you cannot put her in danger just because you can't be apart from her. Its better to loose her for sometime and comeback to her later than too loose her forever"
"I had to make that choice with you remember....we both know she is safe were she is. You would be dragging her into a batttle she is barely equiped to fight"
Daryn suddenly turned to his mother in a frenzy. "You could lock him in a time loop...or..or better kill him. Make it be he never existed" trying to latch on to anything that would prevent him from making his hardest choice yet.
Selene smiled and kissed the crown of his head. "You know i can't do that my child. Its against the rules" Daryn cried after she said that and Selene held him. Comforting her son.
She felt his pain through their link and saw how hard it was for him to make that choice. How he wanted to fight against it.
"Its ok my child...its for the best"
Daryn just sobbed on her shoulders.

With Darla's directions, Eric had gotten the materials needed for his house and put them to use immediately.
First he started with cutting the trees for wood. Darla had shown him the best tree to use for structure of his house. The tree was strong and according to Darla, it had waterproof qualities too. The perfect choice for the jungle they were inhabiting.
After successfully cutting the tree and carrying it to the work site,(with Daryns help) he used his ability as Apollo's champion to carve the wood to the size he would be using for the house.
He had the house plan all set out to the measurements on paper. His friend had been both surprised and impressed at the precision he followed and said he would assist him whenever he needed him.
He left Daryn and his pair in their home that morning and rushed to his building site. And he continued the same routine for three days. With his blessings and magic the building of his home was reaching completion faster than any normal builder could have anticipated.
Now Daryn stood at the house site watching his friend finish his house foundation smiling. But when Eric glanced and saw his face, he knew his friend had something disturbing him and he could guess what it was.
Still he said nothing. Soon he was done for the day and both men went back to the shed in silence and thoughts.
