"I… I don't trust you." Yang Lin said after giving it careful thought. This woman seemed to hold a grudge against him for some reason, it would be normal for her to opt for a tragic life to him. Thus, he concluded to keep trusting her words outside the window.
"Hahaha," In response, she broke into a crisp laugher, her pristine canines as white as the full moon above. She said, "Then who will you trust? Yourself? Your priorities are too messed up for that! You're just-..."
"Shut up! What do you know about my priorities?" Yang Lin intersected, a bit of fury brewing amidst his gaze. Facing that look, the woman hummed lightly before drawing a grin across her mischievous face.
"Oh?" She expressed in a gasp, "Then, was that little lass more important than your own 'mother'? That poor elderly never crossed your mind, not even once."
Yang Lin's expression froze for a moment. He just realized he has been away from home for a VERY long time, his whereabouts probably unknown… Matter of fact, he still has no clue.
"Don't be hard on yourself, anyway… she's dead." The woman added, as a matter of fact. Still eyeing Yang Lin with that plain grin. That simple sentence perturbed Yang Lin's mood into a forlorn mess.
Heart rate accelerating, breath staggering, pupils contrasting, and he choked on his own breath. If he wasn't restricted due to the minor dysfunctionality of his body, he would have leaped at the Goddess figure unrestrained.
"You look like an animal on a leash, cute." She said, toying about with her feet in the pond, she said, "I can't kill you, but I may be able to pass the job to you instead." With a chuckle, she tapped her toes against the pond's surface, allowing a fine splatter of liquid to wash over Yang Lin's face.
"Liar!" He spat through his gnashed teeth, a silver flicker omitting his dark eyes. It was for a split second, but the woman he saw it, also had a serious expression taint her visage for a split second, though Yang Lin was too clouded in anxiety to notice that subtle change.
"Am I? Why don't you hurry up, regulate the Qi in your body, then go find out? Ah! Foolish little me, I didn't explain that did I?" The woman sarcastically lamented, bringing her jade palm to knead her own forehead as if she forgot something so basic.
"What?" Yang Lin asked, confused… Regulate Qi? What was Qi to begin with?
"This pain, your disabled body, blah blah blah… You have just concluded five stages of the 'Transcendent Metamorphosis' realm. In essence, you're adjusting your body in order to start cultivating. You know, Marrow Tempering, Bone Tempering, Viscera Tempering, Blood Cleansing, and Meridians Forming."
"It was done immaturely, through questionable means. Anyway, you didn't die and that's what matters most, lucky one you are." The woman shrugged, not bothering to conceal her disappointment, which only caused Yang Lin to bud a deep feeling of loathing towards her.
She continued, "The sixth and last stage is Qi Circulation. Do that, and you will be able to move again. If you don't, you'll just be a cripple I guess."
With a dull expression, Yang Lin just stared at the woman for a few minutes. She seemed to be absorbed in her own world, eyes already closed, perhaps she planned to sleep.
"And… How do I do that? Qi circulation thing…" Yang Lin asked, worry and fear weighing his vocals.
"Meh, figure it out." The woman responded, not even bothering to shrug her shoulders this time around.
