Chapter 25: The Test
Since our test is in a few days, we decided to talk outside the coliseum for they day.
"Well seems like there is lesser participants in the 1 battle test this year" John said
"Yeah I'm wondering about that too" Albert wondered
-It's because of the rumors surrounding him-
-He's as dense as every cliché characters ever- Ace said
-Your world's novels are surprisingly useful- Siege complimented
-Well I'll definitely take it back all those times I called them useless- Dabria said
And then someone tapped my shoulder, it was a familiar girl with red hair and blue eyes.
"Oh it's you, Eleanor was it?"
"Ah you remembered" She smiled
"I remember you" Eliza said "You were the girl that was surrounded by thugs"
"Well if Albert wasn't there, it would've been bad" I shrugged
"I did nothing, you were the one that came to the rescue" Albert argued
"Are you 2 doing the 1 battle test too?" Eleanor asked
"Of course" I replied
"We are" Albert answered
"Why are your eyes colo-" she asked but was cut off by a shout
The a guy with a few knights came running towards us shouting
"My lady, my lady"
"Oh they're here already? Bummer" Eleanor sulked
-Told you she's a princess-
-Yeah otherwise, she won't have so many people guarding her- Dabria said
"You can't keep running away, your safety should be prioritized"
Then people around us start whispering
"Red hair and blue eyes with knights guarding her, you reckon she's the 3rd princess?"
"Eleanor Magus, descendant of Artia Magus, I heard she specifically asked to come to this venue instead of the one in the capital"
"Yeah, she's supposedly also good, but she's definitely not getting first with the baron's son here"
-These chats really give us lots of info about someone's identity-
-They're surprisingly helpful- Siege agreed
"Who do you think the white hair kid is?"
"Maybe he's the Golds' servant"
"He got white hair at such a young age, reckon he got a dangerous disease that made his hair that way?"
-Haven't experienced this in a while-
-Don't worry, you are the best, let's beat the representative and shut them all up- Ace comforted
She then had to leave
"I'll see you guys on the test" She said
"It was a pleasure to meet you, milady" Albert said
"I look forward to your performance, milady"
She frowned, looks like she doesn't like to be referred that way
"I didn't know she was a princess" Albert pondered

We then went home, my family looked a bit shocked, they didn't think that the girl I managed to rescue a couple years turns out to be a princess. My younger cousins on the other hand
"Wow you know a princess?" Oliver said amazed
"Can I be one too?" Emily asked
John and Olivia managed to calm them down by the time we get to the inn

Test day arrived, it was the 5th day, the start of the 1 battle test.
"Can't believe I have to stand and wait with filthy commoners" a girl said
"Yeah, why can't we get a room to separate us like in the capital" a guy replied
"I know, the capital got a VIP room for people like us" another girl said
-Stuck up nobles, I knew I'd meet them here-
-I thought the venue in the capital is way better, why don't they go there instead- Siege asked
-It's because there are many nobles who went to the capital- Ace answered
-Yeah, since they think that nobles are much better than commoners, they want to use us to stand out even more- Dabria agreed
-The rumors about Albert probably reached the capital already, since he is after all a genius by this world's standard, they would also want to check him out, to see if they can get him by their side. Judging by their numbers, they'll go after us, we just have to do such a great performance that, no matter what they do, compared to us, they will always be overshadowed- I said
-Well like Albert, they are at also light red stage, but have much much smaller mana capacity since unlike you and Albert, they need a core to use magic- Dabria commented -But even though you are a dark orange, your mana capacity is much bigger than Alberts-
"Contestant number 402, Eleanor Magus, age 14, mid red core" the referee introduced
-Looks like she's fighting a light purple core from Acira's- Dabria commented
-She uses a robe as armor, a wand for a weapon and looks like an orb in her hands which is probably her accessory, it probably allows her to hold more mana- I replied -She's still going to lose though, the rep is using a D-rank armor-
"Start!"
Eleanor then summoned a big spell
"May the gods use his light for judgement, Light of judgement" she chanted and she shot a huge beam of light to the representative .
-What a cliché name-
-Well yours isn't any better- Dabria commented

She then summon multiple wind spells and shot it at the representative and when that didn't work, she resorted to use her fire spells and lightning spells.
-5 Attributes, she's talented alright- Dabria commented
-Well her spells are sometimes unnecessary flashy, she doesn't look like she got combat experience, most nobles other than Albert seem to waste a bit more mana just to make it more flashy-
-Well they need to impress the scouts, and besides they use those flashy moves to boast how much they are better than us- Ace said
She lasted a couple minutes dodging and defending before the representative defeated her.
"Any offers?" the referee asked the school representatives, 8 hands went up except Acira's Fairy Academy of the North and Modia's Griffon Academy of the West.
"Do you want to accept an offer now or wait till you have your results?"
"I accept the offer of Phoenix academy" she said, the Phoenix academy representative looked happy.
Eleanor came down the stage smiling and approach me and Albert.
"I look forward to your turns" She winked "Though I doubt you can beat me, after that incident, my family hired expensive tutors to teach me"
"We'll see"
"Of course, I'm going to try my hardest" Albert replied
It finally got to Albert's turn
"Contestant number 419, Albert Golds, age 12, light red core"
-A shield for weapon, breastplate for armor and sun glasses for accessory, he's planning on blinding the opponent-
-Well unlike me, you 3 will have to turn away when it happens- Dabria commented
-He's fighting a light purple though, it'll be hard- Siege said
"Start!"
He then constructed a greatsword out of light
-He uses a one handed greatsword with a shield, he's playing defensive, he's going for a prolong battle, since he'll have an advantage with his large mana capacity-
-The opponent is using a D-rank breastplate too, if it's a prolong battle, Albert will definitely win- Ace agreed
-Perseus idea is the opposite, catch them off guard and defeat them within a few moves- Siege said
-He plans on using 'Presence' and use it to intimidate the opponent- Dabria said
-He's currently using it to hide his presence completely since Albert got his turn-
Albert use his superior sword skills to engage in close combat since the opponent is a long range mage and when the mage tries to back away for distance, Albert would use earth magic to erect a wall behind them to stop them or at least slow them down.
The student representative started to get serious, a 3rd year's pride would be seriously be damaged if they were beaten by a 12 years old after all. The student representative is now using stronger spells and managed to destroy Albert's shield.
Albert then went on the offensive using multiple magical attribute spell to shoot towards the student representative. The 3rd year is having a hard time fighting against a lot of different attributes at once since
"The rumors were true, just how many attributes does he have?" Eleanor asked and then she noticed that she can no longer feel my aura "Where'd you go?"
"Right here" I said as I tapped her shoulder
"AHH" she screamed "Why do you have so little presence, you can give someone a heart attack someday sneaking around like that"
"I come from a family of hunters, to hunt cunning animals, you have to hide your presence to ambush them"
"I doubt they have any lesser of a presence than you"
The student representative looks like he going to run out of mana due to his smaller mana capacity, Albert sensed this and light start enveloping his body.
-Guys turn away for a few second, he's about to blind us- I warned as I closed my eyes and turn away
Ace and Siege heed my advice and turn away. It seems that he stopped using that spell when we turned back, some people aren't as lucky like Eleanor.
"Why was that so bright?! Is that why he wore those dark sunglasses?!" She said as she rubbed her eyes
Albert saw the blinded opponent and shot a huge fireball at him, and then used his body and charged towards the opponent for a final push. He pushed the student of the stage.
"He p-passed" The referee said in shock
And the talking began
"That's the first time anyone defeated a student representative, a 3rd year at that"
"He's a genius among geniuses, the student had a dragon crest, it means that the student is from the Drakon Academy, he can at least join the school if no one else picked him"
"You crazy?! Even if that's true, why would no other schools want him, he can use so many attributes, you'd be dumb if you don't want him"
"Any offers?"
And all hands went up, many people gasped at the result including the red headed princess.
"That's never happened before, he's definitely going to be first place on the kingdom's ranking" she gasped
It is now my turn. I smiled.
-I waited so many years for this, I'm releasing all my anger from my past life into the several spells I've prepared-
-We look forward to it- Ace said
-Just don't make me look bad in front of Helena, I want to be the better sponsor here, I bet my beauty cream on you because I believe that you'll have a better score- Dabria said
