Chapter 49: Crazy believers
-Besides, unlike me and Damon, Nova's hair wasn't completely white, but I doubt most people know that, I only know that due to seeing him through your memories-
-He said that he heard your voice, did you speak to him?- Ace asked Dabria
-No, I would know if I did- Dabria replied
-He said that he met saints or holy maidens before and since you have Dabria in your presence, your aura would be similar- Siege said

"Old man, I'm flattered but uhh I'm not really a worshipper of anything nor am I a reincarnation of a god"
"Such a humble person, I really am not worthy of being in your presence" he cried
"What's going on here?" Eleanor whispered as she walked up to me
"I'm as clueless as you are, I'll just stall till Lucas arrive with the teachers" I whispered back
"So why are you here? I know this is your old home after all, but I don't think you would come back to just visit"
"I've come to pray for god's guidance, this church was the first place that I've sensed the goddess' presence, when I moved to Gloria, the biggest church of life and death is located there, and that's the place where I've heard her voice, so I decided to serve as a part of the holy knights." he replied still kneeling "Now I've retired, I've come to ask for a new mission in my life"
"So can you get up please?"
"I wouldn't dare to stand in front of the reincarnation of the god of life" he refused

-That's not how I would describe it, but yes- Diana agreed
"Please grant me my next mission" he begged "I need to fulfill my duty, I live to serve"
"They're that way" Lucas shouted from a distance
"They are heading our way, probably arriving in a minute or two" I whispered
"How'd you know?" She asked
"I heard them due to my enhanced hearing"
"Okay, I'll help you delay him" she nodded
"Sir, I can assure you, my friend here, isn't a reincarnation of a god, he's just a regular student of Phoenix Academy" She said calmly
"What is your name oh magnificent one?" he asked
-I kind of feel bad for that red haired noble, he also got a guy worshipping him as god-
-That's not what you should be focusing on right now- Dabria said
-I don't want to tell him my name, he'll spread it everywhere-
-We can't kill him without getting into trouble with the church either, he might not be a holy knight anymore but he still has connections, it'll be suspicious if he disappears- Siege said
-Just tell him, it won't be that bad- Diana replied
"I'm Perseus"
-No need to tell him my last name, my name is already pretentious as it is-

"They're in there" Lucas said outside the church
Professor Emma and another professor came in. She also got her bond, a bird perched on her shoulder.
"I brought a healer with me, is there anything that Lucas missed while he went to get us?" Professor Emma asked
"Professor Steel, he needs healing" Eleanor said "He's been saying weird things"
"How weird?" She asked
"He keeps saying that Perseus is the reincarnation of Nova, the god of life, he even said that Perseus has a similar presence that doesn't lose out to a saint" Eleanor answered
"Ok, that is weird" Professor Emma nodded "Taylor, please heal the man"
The other professor then went to check on the kneeling old man, after a few seconds, he just shook his head
"There's nothing wrong with him, we can get him checked better if we use equipments, but I sense nothing wrong write now" the professor said
"So he's sane, but he worships Perseus as a reincarnation of god now, that's probably one of the most weirdest things I've heard in my life, yet I'm not surprised" Lucas said
Professor Emma then pinched her cheek
"This isn't a dream, well let's head back now, you too sir Jake Walker was it?"
We then headed back to our campsite.
-This is probably karma for went I introduced Albert to Caleb-
-Glad to know karma exists in any world- Dabria replied
-Lucky that we're going back tomorrow, he says so many things on our way back here, I think I will get a headache if I listen to it more than this- Ace said
-My brother would've probably forcefully shut him up- Diana agreed
-From what I'm hearing, he doesn't sound that bad- Damon replied
-You'll know if you're here- Siege said -As his bonds, we also got worshipped-

"We did a background search on him, Jake Walker, one of a former commanders of the holy knight of the church of Dabria, the goddess of life and death" Professor Williams said
"Does his face match his description as well?" Professor Steel asked
"It matches perfectly, we should look more into Perseus after what the former commander said" Professor Williams suggested
"My sister and her class are returning tomorrow, how should we treat the old man?" Professor Steel asked "He insists on returning with Perseus"
"Treat him like a regular guest" the headmaster replied "Professor Williams, when he arrive, welcome him and take him to my office"
"What about us headmaster?" Professor Blue and Professor White asked
"Check on Perseus more often, we need to check this presence thing sir Jake is talking about"
"Understood"

We headed back in the same carriage, from the campsite to school, he didn't shut up, Siege tried to doze off to not listen to him and it seems to work.
-Please, shut him up, I don't want him idolizing me too much- Dabria said
-Even you had enough huh-
We tried, but he only talked more. Professor Emma also seemed uncomfortable during our trip back
We met Damon back at the entrance
"Welcome back" he greeted
"Hope you weren't bored"
"I've read a lot of books while you were gone" he replied "Is that the guy?"
He pointed at Old man Jake
-Yep-
-Oh no, he's heading toward us- Ace warned
"Ah your bodyguard is has white hair too, but his presence isn't like yours, not as holy and magnificent" he praised "You must've granted him your blessings"
-I think I see why now- Damon said
Professor Williams approached from behind and coughed
"Sir Jake, the headmaster would like to meet you" he said
"Of course" Jake then turned to me "I will return to your side after I meet the headmaster"
-Please don't- Ace said
-His voice might be my new nightmare- Diana agreed
"He's something huh" Eleanor said as Jake left
"I'm telling Albert and Cecily to avoid that guy now" Lucas said as he left
"I'm heading out tomorrow since it's a Sunday, I'm buying lots of groceries and cooking a lot of food"
"I'm joining you for dinner, I'll also invite Cecily, Albert and Lucas along, whether you like it or not" Eleanor replied
"Well hearing you guys voices might help me forget his, great idea"

"Are you sure you felt an aura stronger than a saint on Perseus, it might be because of him being close to sir Damon all the time" Professor Williams said
"Nonsense, the aura of that Damon is definitely very strong, but it's not the same of that of Perseus, Perseus' aura is like a god, a being that I wish to serve" Jake replied
