Chapter 168: Seer

Our 2 guards declined to come in, they stayed outside to keep watch to see if anything happens.

What weirded me out was that when I entered the living room, there was individual painting portraits of a slightly younger me and my bonds, there was even a portrait of Dabria. There was a painting that she haven't finished yet in the middle of the room, it was me kissing Cordelia in the air bubble earlier today.

-I know that seers can do this from what I got from your memories, but it stills creep me out a bit-

-That is a very nice portrait of me- Dabria commented -It's spot on-

-We need to bring your ego down someday-

"Ah don't worry, I don't spy on you all often" Marella reassured

"That's what people say when they do, I mean look at those portraits, how do you even nail all the small details?!"

"So observant, you might be young, but you're definitely smart. You scored a good one, my daughter" she winked "I only spy you on your trip here to make sure you're okay, as for the portraits, I have a very good reason for them"

"I can tell that you're not lying about that" I just sigh as we took our seat in the living room

We were then served cold fruit juices.

"You 2 kiss each other a lot, you know. I know that you 2 like each other, but there are limit to things" Marella said "On the trip here, I've already lost count on how sweet you 2 are"

"See" Damon nudged me "We aren't the only ones who think so"

"Sorry, I couldn't resist" All I could do was apologize and try not to spit out my drink

"Yes, we were too caught up in the moment" Cordelia also apologized

"Your apology is too formal, learn to be more like your boyfriend here" she replied

"I'll try" Cordelia nodded

"Well I suppose I should start explaining the portraits" her mom then took off her glasses "As you know, I'm a seer, and an eminent one at that, I can see bits of the past, present and future. Seeing the present is the easiest, followed by past and future respectively. But even so, seeing the future isn't like what people describe it.

"Instead of seeing it, I can only get bits of advices or phrases and the cooldown between each time I do it varies from what I'm asking for. Before separating from Brooke, I got one piece of advice, fate told me to seek out a white-haired prince. And I believe that he's currently my daughter's boyfriend"

-I hate this kind of stuff-

-We all do- Ace nodded

-I also hate it, time is a literal fickle mistress.- Dabria agreed

"He does match the description since he is now a prince of the vampires" Cordelia nodded

"It could also refer to my brother" Diana argued "His nickname among the seekers is the winter prince"

"Cool nickname" Cordelia complemented

"No, I'm a 100% sure that it's Perseus" Marella pointed at me

"That was a very long time ago, even before I was born, how are you so sure? Besides as rare as white hair is, there might be a super old prince with white hair out there somewhere"

"Well you see, the first bit of advice I got was 'to seek'. I questioned it of course, it was before Cordelia was even born, and when I was pregnant with her, I can't use the power due to my fear of affecting my child. And when she was born, I used it again, it says 'white-haired prince', you get how it goes.

"And then when Neelofar got attacked by its own guardian, I seek advice on how to save it. This time it told me 'Worry not for the one you're looking for will come'. Since I couldn't help, Cordelia, the stand-in queen at the time, sought help from you, she thought that you would be able to stop the leviathan since you managed to bond with a dragon, the kingdom's last hope and you did, earning my daughter's trust in the process which eventually led to what you 2 are now"

"But that doesn't make me the guy you're looking for, it might just meant to reassure you, I wasn't even a prince then"

"Well that was until you told your parents on your plan on becoming the vampire prince, and they hinted it to my daughter" She laughed

"Still doesn't make me, the guy you're looking for"

"Of course, but when I used my powers again to confirm my suspicion, it says 'the prince with the blessing of life and death itself'" She then narrowed her eyes at me "And when I used the power to see the present, I felt something oddly connected to you, the presence of that woman, who oddly resembles the portraits of Dabria, the goddess of life and death. So I painted you, your bonds and Dabria into these portraits in order to recognize you"

-I need to learn more about seers in my free time- Dabria said

"Yep definitely not me"

"You can't even hide it anymore if you try" Cordelia sighs "Why are you so stubborn on insisting that it's not you anyway?"

"Before I answer that question of yours. I need to ask your mom something, what did you want to find? What did you seek for fate to tell you to seek me out before I was even born?"

"The truth about reincarnation" she answered with gleaming eyes "Or rather if I phrase it exactly how I did back then, the proof of reincarnation..."

Marella's eyes narrowed down at me. Cordelia understood exactly what her mom was implying and looked over to me.

"Last time, the church of Dabria thought that I was the reincarnation of Nova, and it's proven that I'm not, so that really doesn't mean anything, I think you wasted like 2 decades searching for a guy who's believed to be a reincarnate"

All I could do was play it off, and my bonds understood exactly what I was trying to do. We didn't even had to share a look to understand what each other are thinking, this isn't something a regular person, even a seer, should know.

"Yeah, if anything, won't that make you a reincarnate too if you believe in reincarnation" Ace pointed out

"As amazing as I think my bond is, why would fate or whatever you're asking from tell you to look for Perseus" Damon added

"How old are you really, Perseus Silver?" she asked ignoring our earlier statements "Or who are you really?"

And kids, this is why meeting your partner's parents is a huge pain in the ass. That's the whole moral of this story. The End.

| You can't end it, I'm the author here, I decide when to end it |
