Chapter 37: Exposing Her Beast

"I didn't mean to change." A deep-seated warmth creeps into her cheeks. "I'm sorry. I . . ."

"Hey, it's okay." He kisses her lips.

She shakes her head. Her inner beast stirs. The beat of her twin hearts thud in her ears.

Transformation, she thinks to herself. Why the hell did that happen? How?

"By the Gods, new and old, you are beautiful." Ambrose kisses her neck and skims a hand over the curve of her right wing. "I could drink in your form all day."

She follows the movement of his hand, half expecting to spy disgust in those silky, chocolatey pools. Instead, she sees a burning desire.

"Look at me." He kisses her lips. "You've done nothing wrong."

She glances at him from beneath her lashes.

"Do not ever be ashamed of who you are." He tips her head to hold her gaze.

"You're not angry?" His response pleases her, but it also causes great confusion
