Chapter 28: Stop Fidgeting

When the car pulls into the parking lot, he jumps out and strolls around to open my door. He takes the paperwork, placing it under his arm then extends a hand. I lay my hand on top of his and exit the car.

When I let go, he frowns. I smooth out my rustic colored dress. God, I wonder if I should've worn something different.

"Stop fidgeting, you're beautiful." He coaxes me forward. "Now, come on."

"I'm a little nervous."

"Really, I couldn't tell at all."

I smack his arm then follow him through the double glass doors into the lobby. He points to the receptionist. The woman at the desk is a bottled blonde. Her hair is pulled up into a smooth, neat bun, and she's wearing minimal make-up. As we approach, she puts on a plastic smile.
