Even if Vance insisted that the injuries they had inflicted on Eldridge and his companion were not something Melva should be worried about, she in fact felt guilty for going overboard. She had literally pierced through the werewolf's leg, pinning it to the ground with a silver arrow that was deemed deadly to their kind. Although she had no intention to kill her, the werewolf must have suffered a lot.

Melva had dozed off and lost her chance to apologise. It was supposed to be a mere hunting game. Why would she treat it like an actual near-death experience? Had she felt their intention to kill? She was not sure.
