Chapter 10

Apollo

Apollo hugged his wife to sleep last night. She was crying because she was worried. She heard from one of her friends that there was a shootout in the square, between the Kitty Gang and police. She thought that Apollo had died or been injured since he wasn't home. He felt terrible. He hugged Tori tighter than he usually would, hugging her to sleep. It made him feel guilty.

He felt guilty for not telling her about what happened. He felt guilty for being with Faline, he felt guilty for almost everything he had done in the last couple of days. Seeing her cry, feeling her hands cup his shirt, only made Apollo feel worse.

Yet, when she woke up, she felt better. She was smiling and being herself. Apollo was making breakfast, which was rare, yet he still felt somewhat guilty. "My husband is making me breakfast? What have I done to deserve something so amazing as this?" She said happily, hopping into the kitchen. Apollo smiled softly. The smile seemed…. Broken.

"Chocolate chip pancakes and hashbrowns." He says, handing her a plate of freshly made pancakes. She practically squealed from excitement. "Babe this looks amazing! How have I never known you could cook this well!" She scurried to the table, as Apollo turned off the stove. He moved the pan to the side. He walked into the bedroom, picking out a nicer outfit. He didn't plan on doing anything today, especially since he had work. Rest, rest seemed-

There was a small thump from the window. Then another one. At first, Apollo thought it was just hail, but it was clear as day when he woke up. He walked up to the window, opening the blinds. At first, he looked up at the sky, still clear, then looked at the road and sidewalk. He saw a pink motorcycle, with a boy with pink hair seemingly picking something up from the ground. He stands up, seeing Apollo and waving. Faline.

He quickly puts on his shirt, half-buttoned before running out of the bedroom. He ran through the kitchen, before getting an idea. He walked back into the kitchen, going into the cabinets to grab a plastic bowl. He places some pancakes and hashbrowns into the bowl, he turned back around to see Tori eyeing him weirdly.

"Love, what are you doing with a takeout bowl?" Apollo didn't have an answer. Apollo didn't have a plan either. "Just have to feed the stray cat outside. It keeps following me everywhere." Tori smiles and nods. "That's because your feeding it. Go." She says, and Apollo ran out.

He ran down the steps, running up to Faline and hugging him. Faline hugged him back, equally excited. He smiled, taking a step back and handing him the food. Faline opened it and smiled. "Thank you. But I don't like potatoes, I already told you." He said with a smile.

"Oh, uh sorry," Apollo said, chuckling softly. Faline kissed his cheek. It seemed both were getting used to the whole kissing thing. "It's fine. I'll give them to someone. I just wanted to ask, later today you wanna hang out? Like, after dark, I wanna show you some places.." Faline asked, looking down at the ground.

Apollo smiled. He didn't have work today. "How about during lunch. We can hang out all day and night." Faline smiled and nodded. He held the takeout bo close to his chest as he hooked his leg over the motorcycle. "Oh, and by the way." He smiled as he looked up at his apartment. "Tell your wife I said hi." He waved, before driving off.

Only now did Apollo realize how much impact a person could have on another's heart.

Faline

He relaxed his muscles as he waited for Apollo to go down. He was the one who wanted to go out for lunch. Faline laid his head on the dash of his motorcycle. He had two helmets hanging from his fingers. He saw a lady with brown hair skip by him, before stopping to look at him. "Are you lost?" She asked.

He did feel like he was out of place. This was a nice apartment complex, with nice people. However, Faline looked the exact opposite."Uh, no I'm just waiting for a friend." She hummed, seemingly not done with the conversation. Why did Apollo have to live on the nice side of Kumamoto?!

"Well, I know most of the people here. However, I have never seen you before." Faline nodded his head. Did he look that different, that out of the ordinary that he had to be stopped? He combed a hand through his pink hair, adjusting his leather jacket and taking off his sunglasses. "Oh, we just started hanging out." She hums once again. "Well, I just wanted to say, you seem like a nice and cool guy. Would you want to go out sometime-"

"Betsy! Stop it!" Faline turned around to see Apollo and some other girl holding bags. Apollo seemed to notice him though. He lifted his leg, using the propped motorcycle like a seat. "Betsy you can't just go up to random-" Apollo looked at him, and he smirk. Faline waved slightly at him, but the girl beside him caught his attention. He turned towards Betsy, with a soft frown. "Sorry, Betsy. You seem like a sweet gal, but I don't swing that way. Plus I'm taken. Thanks though." He smiled before turning his attention to the girl.

"Hi, I'm Hitori, but you can just call Tori. I'm Apollo's wife." She smiled, though Faline could see right through it. He smiled back. "Nice to meet you." He let go first. Should she be threatened by his presence, he thought that Apollo was supposedly straight. Well, he'll assume that making out meant something otherwise. She hummed, looked him up and down. Why did everyone here think he was some sort of alien?

"I haven't seen or heard of you before." She stated. He glanced over at Apollo, who was giving him begging stares, but he didn't care. "Ahh, that's because we just met on Friday." He leaned on the handlebar, this was fun. Technically he did see her at the coffee shop. Well, he thought it was her, brown hair, blue eyes.

She looked at her husband, before back at Faline. Then she looked confused. "Wait but that was the day he met that evil Kitty Gang leader. He was at work all day." She looked at him as if he was lying. He smirked, leaning closer to her.

"That's because I am the evil Kitty Gang Leader." He shook her hand. "Faline, nice to meet you." She looked at him shocked, snatching her hand away. "Not. Funny. Babe I'm going to be in the apartment. Come on Betsy." She huffed, walking up the stairs, Betsy followed. Apollo gave him a stern look. "Faline?" He giggled softly.

"Babe, let's go before I drive off without you," Faline said, using his best Hitari voice. Apollo smiled softly. He leaned up to Faline, and at first, the leader thought he was going to kiss him, but instead he just took a helmet. The pink-haired boy frowned. "Let's go. I have a perfect place." He smiled, revving his motorbike.
