Hitotsu-Me Giant

"Damn you shameless scoundrels!" Zhang Chun Wu heard his sister yell,

"You think you can bully Chun Wu just because he can't use his Prime Artifact!?

Li Fei Yuan is already 16 years old, don't you people have any semblance of shame?"

Li Fei Yuan jeered at her. "So what? Zhang Chun Wu can bully my cousin because he's older than him, but I can't fight Zhang Chun Wu because I'm older than him? Is your Zhang family filled with hypocrites?"

At this, Zhang Xia Yun fell silent. She also didn't know why her usually aloof and calm younger brother had suddenly gone ballistic and nearly crippled the Li family's young genius the other day. Had he not injured Li Tai Shan so hard, the Zhang family could perhaps get some compensation from the Li family for assaulting one of their family members, but now, it was the Li family coming to the Zhang family for compensation.

Li Hou Jun spoke.

"Normally we would ask your Zhang family for some sort of compensation for this, but this is a matter between the children, so if you let our Fei Yuan duel Chun Wu, I can agree to drop this matter."

"Do you Li people think we're idiots? Who knows what you'll do to Chun Wu if we agree to let them fight?"

As the two families began to get riled up, Zhang Chun Wu was contemplating the significance behind their meeting today. What benefit would the Li family get from getting revenge on him?

Although his cultivation level was unprecedented for his age, his prime artifact was, after all, quite useless, and he would pose no threat to the Li family even when he grew up. Using the compensation for the injuries of Li Tai Shan, who a genius of the Li family, to trade for a chance to beat him up seemed to be rather foolish.

As he was thinking, William suddenly raised a question.

"What's this Prime Artifact you people keep talking about?"

"Silence, demon. Don't you think you've embarrassed me enough?" Zhang Chun Wu snapped back. He was still quite flushed about William's interruption earlier, which had definitely caused a misunderstanding between the Zhang clan members.

"Look, I'm sorry for accidentally taking your mouth, okay?" he heard, "just tell me what's this prime artifact thing they keep talking about and I'll stay silent for the next hour."

Upon hearing that, Zhang Chun Wu reluctantly answered.

"Fine, I'll tell you, but you better shut up until I get to see the Patriarch!"

"I don't know if you demons have anything similar, but Prime Artifacts are the relics that all humans are innately born with.

It is said that heaven and earth blessed the human race several hundred millennia back, which allowed them to prosper and rule over the mainland, while the rest of the races were sent fleeing to the edges of the world."

He paused.

"I don't know how much is true about the tales, but it is true that the Prime artifacts are part of the reasons for the human race's dominance over the Xia Continent."

"The Prime Artifact comes in many different forms. My sister's prime artifact, for example, is a very large fan, but my brother's Prime Artifact is a small cube,"

Zhang Chun reminisced, before becoming gloomy.

"They're all very powerful though, especially my brother. But for some reason, my Prime Artifact has never done anything."

"Oh," William replied curiously, "is your Prime Artifact the spear you carry around?"

"No, that was a man-made artifact that my father bought me. My actual artifact is a strange-looking arm guard." He paused.

"You've never seen it before because we humans can put away our Prime Artifacts like with Spacial Rings".

As William tried to ask about the Prime Artifact some more, both of them were forced out of their inner conversation when Zhang Chun Wu was suddenly pulled backwards.

Upon exiting their inner dialogue, Zhang Chun Wu noticed that the Li and Zhang family were about to come to blows.

"I'll tell you one last time, Wu Zhi! If Zhang Chun Wu does not fight Li Fei Yuan today, our two clans will have a reckoning!" He heard Li Hou Jun angrily speak.

"And I'll tell you again, our Zhang family will not sacrifice one person just to evade a fight with a mere Li family!"

The elder of the Zhang Family, Zhang Wu Zhi retorted.

Seeing the two families elders come inches away from blows, Zhang Chun Wu quickly stepped out.

"I will fight with Li Fei Yuan." Zhang Chun Wu spoke.

Zhang Wu Zhi suddenly froze, before turning around.

"Chun Wu, do you know what you're saying? The Li family obviously plans to harm you!" He angrily reprimanded.

Li Hou Jun, on the other hand, looked ecstatic. "Excellent, excellent! As long as you agree to fight Fei Yuan, all other matters between us can be written off!"

Zhang Chun Wu suddenly turned to Li Fei Yuan. "But the mighty Li Fei Yuan would not have to resort to such methods as using their Prime Artifact against a cripple, would they?" He taunted.

In response, Li Fei Yuan arrogantly declared, "I don't need my Prime Artifact to deal with you, taste my blade!"

Upon saying that, he dashed towards Zhang Chun Wu, while pulling out a longsword.

Zhang Chun Wu immediately reacted, taking three steps back and pulled out the spear wrapped around his back.

The Zhang and Li families, seeing that the two youths had already begun their duel, immediately backed away. The Younger members retreated a greater distance, while the guards of the family only moved back somewhat, thus creating a circle around the two fighters.

Li Fei Yuan strode towards Zhang Chun Wu in large steps, brandishing his sword. Upon nearing Zhang Chun Wu's striking range, he suddenly dashed forward, intent on stabbing him in the solar plexus.

In response, Zhang Chun Wu twisted his arms, causing his spear to rotate straight into the incoming sword, blocking the strike. Taking advantage of the momentary pause from the two weapons colliding, he then changed his grip on the spear, before slicing down on Li Fei Yuan's head.

Li Fei Yuan casually flipped his wrist, parrying the blow with his sword, and the two exchanged several more blows before Zhang Chun Wu was forced back by a particularly harsh blow.

"It looks like your Solid Earth Spear Arts aren't just for show." Li Fei Yuan sneered.

Evidently he had not been fatigued by the series of quick blows he had dealt earlier.

Zhang Chun Wu stared venomously at his enemy. Although it looked like he had the upper hand, blocking several consecutive blows without suffering any cuts or stabs to his body, he knew that Li Fei Yuan was still holding back.

Although both fighters were at the second stage of the Foundation Building, Zhang Chun Wu had only reached the stage one month prior, and he had merely stabilized his condition two weeks ago.

On the other hand, Li Fei Yuan had already been in the Second State of Foundation Building for five months, and he would probably be able to break through again in another three or four weeks.

"Although you're more impressive than expected, you're still not a match for me! Taste my Icy Wind Sword Dance!" Li Fei Yuan twirled around his sword, gathering speed as he danced towards Zhang Chun Wu again.

"A upper level technique!" Zhang Chun's eyes constricted, before he retreated, spear sweeping sideway to interrupt the flow of his enemy's technique. Unfortunately, his spear was quickly knocked to the side, and Li Fei Yuan, seeing an opportunity, sliced true at Zhang Chun Wu's arm, intending on slicing it off.

Clang!

What Li Fei Yuan's sword struck was not Zhang Chun Wu's arm, but rather a strange looking arm guard that had appeared out of thin air. The guard absorbed most of the impact, not even cracking under the blow, but the pressure of the attack still passed through Zhang Chun Wu, flinging him several feet back.

"Chun Wu!" Zhang Wu Zhi anxiously moved to defend the child, but a blade blocked his path.

"The youngsters are still fighting, why not cool down and have a drink first?" The Li family's elder smiled, intent on letting the match continue.

"You!" Zhang Wu Zhi bellowed, but as he prepared to call for reinforcements from the Zhang clan, Zhang Chun Wu's voice reached him.

"Stop, I can still fight."

His robes were dusty from having crashed into the pavement from the blow earlier, and there were a few tears on his clothes, but his eyes were locked onto the youth that stood in front of him.

As he considered his next action, a voice popped into his mind.

"Hey, I don't mean to break my promises, but is that your Prime Artifact?" He heard William ask.

"Be quiet, can't you see I'm in a fight?" Zhang Chun Wu retorted. As he expected, the promises of demons could not be trusted. It hadn't even been half an hour and the rambling was back.

"Okay, but listen here, I have a plan that'll win us the duel, just let me take control of the bod-"

"Silence, demon! Do not distract me from my duel!"

"Wait, you don't get it, I think I can use th-"

"How shameless must you be to break your promises right after you swore on them? As expected, you demons can't be truste-"

"I CAN USE THE PRIME ARTIFACT! GIMME YOUR BODY IF YOU DON'T WANNA DIE!"

The echoing voice struck Zhang Chun Wu so strongly he nearly dropped the spear he was holding.

Upon seeing Zhang Chun Wu lose control of the grip he has on his spear, Li Fei Yuan laughed with conceit.

"You can't even hold onto your spear now, how weak! Are you sure you're a foundation level cultivator? No wonder you're called a cripple!" Arrogantly, he began sauntering over to the weakened Zhang Chun Wu.

"Since heaven has decided to make you a cripple, let me do you a favour and put you out of your misery!" He spoke, when suddenly Zhang Chun Wu, who had been silent for some time, loudly interrupted him.

"Shut up, dickhead."

Li Fei Yuan paused in surprise.

"I've been getting real tired of your shit, kid. Do you kiss your mother with that mouth? If your father ain't here to discipline you then Your grandfather here will gladly do it for him". A slew of curses shot out.

Li Hou Jun wore a strange face as he glanced over towards the Zhang clan members. Could it be that the child finally snapped during the duel? He recalled the reports on Zhang Chun Wu stated that he was a very serious and unresponsive person. When did he become so sharp-tongued?

Upon hearing the insults, Li Fei Yuan came to a stop, as if his brain had short circuited. A moment later, he burst into laughter.

"You're gonna discipline me? How are you gonna do that Huh? Smack me with your useless Prime Artifact?" Li Fei Yuan wanted to continue to taunt his opponent, when suddenly he froze.

Zhang Chun Wu's prime artifact, which was normally lifeless, suddenly began glowing. As it's shine grew brighter, the side of the gauntlet sprang forward and folded outwards, forming a sort of rectangular fan-like structure.

"My artifact is useless? Who decided that?"

William asked as he touched the duel disk in his hand.

[Quest completed, rewards and Shadow Duel Function has been unlocked. Would the user like to view the shadow duel tutorial?]

"I can't beat you because you're older than me? Who decided that?" William asked as he picked up the top five cards from his newly placed deck.

"I am the one who decides those things".

Then, he placed a card onto the newly acquired duel disk.

A brilliant light flashed from the Prime artifact, and crashed onto the earth in front of William. As the glow faded, a green arm stretched out from within the light.

Li Fei Yuan stared in horror as a monstrous creature slowly stepped out the light. It was incredibly muscular, and towering over three times his size. Instead of a face, a single eye and rows of sharp teeth stared menacingly at him. The giant-like creature straightened it's legs, before looking up and roaring at the sky, signalling it's arrival into the world.

"what the hell is that?" Zhang Chun Wu, who was spectating from within his own body blurted out.

William looked at the creature standing before breaking into a huge smile.

"That, my friend, is a monster card".
