Aqua Madoor

Zhang Wu Zhi placed his hand on his chin, thinking about William's explanation.

"So you're saying the monster is here, but it's not visible?" He asked skeptically. He looked around again, before glancing towards Zhang Wu Dao. A strange look confirmed to him that he too, had not seen any new creature pop up.

"You can give it a try to see it it's really there." William spoke, ending his turn.

Zhang Wu Zhi frowned.

"Give it a try? There's no target to try to attack." Motioning towards the empty room, the elder attempted to make his point.

"Of course there's a target" William laughed, pointing towards himself. "Just throw the sword at me with the same force that you threw at the summon earlier." Speaking confidently, he walked over to the sword that had fallen onto the ground, before tossing it back to the second elder.

Catching the sword, Zhang Wu Zhi paled for a moment.

"This… this isn't quite appropriate, is it?" He had seen how his previous attack had caused some sort of intense backlash against William, and if there was actually nothing between him and the child…

"Don't worry about it, just as long as you don't throw harder than you did earlier." William coaxed the elder on.

Zhang Wu Zhi was planning to reject the boy when a voice whispered near his ear.

"Just throw it at his leg, not the body. That way we can save him even if it turns out he's screwing with us." Turning sideways, he saw Zhang Wu Dao, holding onto a miniature talisman.

"Alright then, please prepare yourself, little Wu." Steeling his resolve, Zhang Wu Zhi gently tossed the sword in his hand in Zhang Chun Wu's direction.

The Sword pierced through the air, stabbing towards William's location. Seeing the quickly approaching tip of the blade, he reflexively tensed up.

However, when the sword was a few meters away from striking true, a wave of water suddenly manifested in the middle of space, sweeping towards the approaching sword. The angry wave quickly formed a spherical shape, grabbing onto the sword as it attempted to shoot through the water.

A moment later, a humanoid figure appeared out of thin air. It had a strange garment wrapped around it's shoulders, a belt that shined bright silver, and greyish blue jeans.

Bright azure hair grew from his head, decorated into spike-shaped clusters.

A white mask obscured the figure's face, and two crimson eyes protruded from within the pale veil of the figure.

The figure motioned towards the sword, which was still trapped within the water ball that it had created. A soft crunching sound was heard, before the sword was bent into unnatural angles, and tossed out of the ball of water.

William, seeing that the new monster had indeed appeared to block the attack for him, relaxed.

The Aqua Madoor had a Defense value of <2000> points, which was why William had been so confident that it would block the elder's attack.

He had already realized that his own cultivation level seemed to equate to something similar to a value of around <1000> attack points. This was because he had sensed that the Hitotsu-Me Giant, who had an attack point value of <1200>, had been one or two ranks stronger than him, while the Two-Head Darkruler, which only had an attack value of <950>, seemed to be slightly weaker than him.

Through simple deduction, one would be able to notice that an attack at the fourth rank of the Foundation Building stage would stand no chance of penetrating the defences of a monster with a <2000> Defense point value.

William's eyes wandered back towards Zhang Wu Zhi, wondering how he thought of the new monster card, when he saw three big O's on the elder's face.

Being surprised was a bit of an understatement for what Zhang Wu Zhi felt at the moment. It was not that the summoned creature was incredibly powerful for William's cultivation level. He had seen many talented individuals wield Prime Artifacts capable of striking down enemies that were entire major ranks above themselves.

However, he had truly never seen anything like Zhang Chun Wu's Prime Artifact. Being at the Eighth stage of the Perceiving Mind, even opponents that were merely three small realms below him would not be able to avoid his scrutiny, unless their Prime Artifact was specifically specialized for stealth, or if they had the assistance of certain formations.

There had never been a situation where something at the Foundation Building Stage, much less a summoned creature with no will of it's own, was able to evade detection by not only him, but also Zhang Wu Dao, who was also in the Perceiving Mind Stage.

Turning around, Zhang Wu Zhi peered at the facial expressions of the stony Zhang Wen Ming. Upon seeing no obvious traces of shock on the first elder's face, Zhang Wu Zhi nodded his head. It appeared that the monster's disguise had indeed failed to trick the Earth Revolution Elder.

Noticing that the other two elders seemed a little shell-shocked, the mostly silent Zhang Wen Ming suddenly spoke.

"You mentioned that your Prime Artifact had two other abilities, is that correct?"

William nodded in response, drawing a new card for his next turn. Flipping the card over, he revealed a violet coloured card with jade borders around it.

"Besides summoning creatures, I also occasionally get spell cards as well. These cards are like one-time consumable items, and are capable of doing a range of things." Pausing to take a look at the card he drew, William frowned. "Unfortunately, I also get these in random sequences."

Placing the new card on the duel disk, he chanted.

"I activate Raimei."

[Error: User must designate a specific target for the Normal Spell Card- Raimei.]

The system's monotone voice blasted into William's ear. Realizing he had made a mistake, William quickly corrected his error.

"I active Raimei on Zhang Wu Zhi."

Before anyone could react, several small swirling clouds suddenly formed around the ceiling of the room the four individuals had isolated themselves in. The swirling clouds congested into a dark vapour, before several bright strikes of lightning flashed overhead. A moment later, a single bolt fell upon the Second Elder's head.

Seeing the approaching lightning bolt, the second elder reached a finger out to block it. Upon being struck, the elder's arm twitched for a moment. Then, the lightning vanished into his finger, and the dark clouds vanished as if they had never appeared.

"Interesting," The Third elder, Zhang Wu Dao, commented. "It seems to be similar to the countercharge of a thunder shield talisman." He was unsurprised by the sudden lightning that had filled the room.

Zhang Wu Zhi nodded his head in accordance, eyes carefully speculating the point on his finger that the lightning had entered through. "Indeed. The lightning strike was quite weak, but it somehow managed to bypass my defences." Turning to face Zhang Chun Wu, he stared at the youth with furrowed eyes.

"Are you capable of replicating this effect multiple times?" In response, William shook his head.

"I might be able to do it again some time later, but each spell card will only activate it's effects once. The same spell card might show up more than once, but I noticed that no card will show up more than three times in this deck, so I don't think I'll be able to find another Raimei for a while." He explained.

Seemingly disappointed, Zhang Wu Zhi motioned that he understood the situation.

"A shame," he thought, "If Chun Wu were capable of using something like that around two dozen more times, it would probably be capable of causing significant damage to my body."

He mused, before shaking his head. Of course, that was wishful thinking on his part. No Prime Artifact could be capable of everything, and Zhang Chun Wu's was already very impressive in terms of flexibility and power.

William, seeing that the elders were finished their analysis, placed another card onto the duel disk.

"I summon Basic Insect in attack position."

A small flash later, a small, green, mantid-like creature stood in front of William. Unlike the previous monsters he had summoned, the new creature was actually smaller than the humans in the room, only reaching to about two thirds the size of Zhang Chun Wu's body.

William ended his turn after that.

"Is that the third type of power your Artifact gives?" Zhang Wu Dao asked quizzically. "I don't see any difference between this and the other summons you have." As he questioned Zhang Chun Wu, the third elder scrutinized the creature. It seemed significantly weaker than the third young lord, not even reaching the high ranks of Body Refining Stage.

"Oh no, this is still just a normal summon. I need it to preform my next trick." Upon realizing the third elder had misunderstood the situation, William quickly corrected him.

The basic insect was just an ordinary monster, albeit an incredibly weak one. With just <500> Attack and <700> Defense points, it was definitely one of William's weakest cards.

"The third type of card my Prime Artifact gives me is called the trap card." This time, instead of showing the respective card, William remained still.

"Trap cards are a little bit different from the previous card types. To begin with, they cannot be used immediately like monster and spell cards. Instead, I have to set them face down." He explained, motioning to the ground around them.

"After I end my turn, I can then activate the trap card when the conditions met for the trap cards activation are met."

"In this case, I already set a trap card sometime ago, but I never met the correct condition to activate it until just now." William motioned towards the two monster cards. "For this trap to work, I'll need your assistance again, second elder."

Zhang Wu Zhi raised his eyebrows in response to William's request.

"Oh? What can I do to help?"

Smiling, William pointed towards the Basic Insect.

Just attack the new monster with the same force you tried to attack me with earlier."

Zhang Wu Zhi, quizzically contemplating what Zhang Chun Wu would pulll off this time, grabbed another sword off the weapons rack. Wondering how he was going to save the insect that wasn't even Foundation Building, Zhang Wu Zhi tossed the sword at the creature.

The moment the sword left his hand, Zhang Chun Wu's voice suddenly reverberated across the room.

"Trap card open, activate Shift!"

He yelled, pointing at the Basic Insect. A moment later, the small bug suddenly vanished, before a familiar visage appeared in it's place.

Bellowing angrily, the Aqua Madoor summoned another wave of water that quickly engulfed the new sword, before bending it into a ball with the angry waves of water that it had created.

The sudden appearance of the Aqua Madoor caused waves of amazement to echo through Zhang Wu Zhi's heart.

"Incredible," he spoke. "This 'trap card' of yours seems to bear abilities similar to that of some Spacial type Prime Artifacts!" He analyzed carefully.

"Spacial type Prime Artifact?" William asked quizzically. Upon hearing a new term that has not been described before, he shot a mental question to Zhang Chun Wu for an answer

"Well, it can be strong, and it can also be weak," Zhang Chun Wu's analysis came back a moment later. "It really depends on the specific effect of the Spacial Prime Artifact."

He paused for a moment, then added,

"Actually, Xia Yun has a Spacial type Prime Artifact, but hers isn't suitable for fighting, so that's why she stopped cultivating."

Upon hearing the answer, William became enlightened. Then, another question popped into his head, prompting him to ask another question.

"Okay, but why do they seem very surprised by it then?"

Zhang Chun Wu had a response for that question as well.

"Our Prime Artifact is a Summoning Type, it shouldn't be capable of producing Spacial Type effects, unless a summoned monster is capable of casting spacial techniques."

In fact, Zhang Chun Wu himself had been stunned for a moment when the trap card had gone off. He had expected multiple possibilities, but Spacial shifting was not one of them.

"Indeed, this is quite unexpected." Zhang Wu Dao's voice interrupted their conversation.

Refocusing his attention on the three elder's analysis, William spoke again.

"Anyway, that's about what my Prime Artifact does. Do you guys have any thoughts about where my Prime Artifact stands?"

At his question, all three elders began to visibly contemplate.
