THE TURNING POINT: FAMILY DRAMA

I heard a woman pretending to clear her throat in order to get attention.

Both of us changed our attention to the door. Aunt stood there with a strange smile.

"Umm.. uh yeh. So see you tomorrow Lijah" I said with a small blush to hide the awkwardness which was filled in the room.

I walked past Aunt, giving her a 'bye bye' smile. On the way downstairs, I checked on Leah and she was still peacefully sleeping.

He thinks that everybody will leave him, but I won't, because I love him. You complete me Lijah and I am so in love with you because of that. I walked into my house with a smile after a very long time only to see my dad staring at me from the couch. Oh I am tired of this shit.

" Are you still with that crazy boy?"

" No dad, why?"

" No? You started lying to me? Rose, look at your daughter defending her boyfriend by lying to her dad." He shouted to mom.

I looked down and stood there silently. To be honest, I hate lying to my parents. But, people change with their change in priorities right? I had no other way to get out of this drama.

" Are you truly out of your mind Amanda? We loved you, cared about you, taught you, brought you up. What else do you want us to do? We are trying really hard to forget the past and be happy around you. You lost your brother but we lost our ' son '. It's a big deal Amanda. I beg you to understand us at least for once. You think that we don't get you but believe me dear, no one gets you more than your parents. Maybe he made you addicted to him but trust me when I say it's all for a short time happiness. If you love us then leave him for your own good."

For a moment, I felt everything was floating around me. I can't leave him like that. He is the 'one'. He makes me the happiest but maybe dad is right.
