Haku And The Massage Chair

(Haku's POV)

"Now then. Could I ask for some hot water?"

"…I'm sorry." The fox woman said. Is this one of the slaves that Shun and Rokuko bought?

"Oh my, do you not have any ready?" It didn't take long for them to lose points from me. My goodness, I'm surprised they would call this a grand suite without having basic services such as this…

"There is hot water readily available in your bathing room if you would like some. You can use as much as you want."

"…What? I-I may use as much as I want?" This… this is even grander than I thought.

"There's a lever inside that will produce hot water whenever you pull it." I-I'm… I'm not sure if there's an [Inn] room with that function available from the dungeon menu.

Perhaps it's in the expansion options? They must have saved costs by only expanding the suite room to have that option. Just what I would expect from Rokuko's master.

Even if you look past his strength, he's quite the smart boy as well.

"Oh, and this is true for every room but, you can use the onsen as much as you want, too."

"The onsen… I see, so you have one as well."

"Aside from the unique capsules people could stay in, the onsen is also one of our main attractions." Hm… [Onsens] are completely separate entities from [Inns]. I wonder how much they spent on theirs? I don't believe they are that expensive, but even so, they truly have spent a lot of DP on this inn.

…As I recall, a normal room costs fifty coppers a night. Most of that price likely comes from access to the onsen. In which case, it would be wise to not stay in the normal rooms, as all of them have access to the onsen.

"Okay, Haku! I'll take you to your room!" Rokuko guides me to the Grand Capsule Suite.

This service alone is easily worth a whole gold coin… Oh my, I need to take care to stay objective here. Though tips are a different story.

I reached the room with Rokuko. Mmm, what's this door? There's some fancy carvings in it but it doesn't look like it's made fully out of wood.

It has metal plates enforcing it, and it even has a lock. They must have destroyed the original inn door and put a dungeon door in its place. Very clever.

"Here! Take your time looking around, sister!" The very moment I opened the door, I was greeted by a well lit room, thanks to the sunlight streaming through the windows.

What's this feeling? I feel like I entered inside a beautiful forest filled with greenery.

Upon further inspection, I noticed that the nice aroma is coming from the wood that they used to create those beautiful wood carvings and sculpture. Speaking of sculptures, isn't that the rabbit on top of Rokuko's shoulders?

"By the way, Rokuko. Who's that little guy on top of your shoulders?"

"Oh, you mean Fenny? Shun said that Fenny is a Heilen Bunny, a species of bunny that's only second to Tsuka and her species, the Vorpal Bunnies. I got her from the 10,000 DP gacha." So that rabbit that we fought in that boss room was in fact called a Vorpal Bunny. I've never heard of that bunny species before.

I think that's just a given though, since I don't really know everything about this world. There might be even stronger monsters out there for all I know.

Also, what in the world is with my dear Rokuko's luck? If what Shun's saying is true then this rabbit is even more valuable than getting a phoenix or an infant dragon.

I managed to pull a dragon from the 1,000 DP gacha back in the day when I was bored. However, getting that dragon couldn't cover the cost of my DP expenditure whilst I was trying to pull one. The odds was really astronomical.

Those bunnies and Rokuko's luck aside, the bed looks really comfortable and there's a large chair that looks perfect for a cozy afternoon nap in this room. They seem to have put a lot of effort in the sleeping arrangements of their customers.

Hmm, but what country are these engravings from? Did they perhaps originate from an artisan from Shun's original world?

Perhaps he did the engravings himself. If my memory serves me right, I seem to recall Rokuko saying that he's quite good at making sculptures.

Aside from those fancy looking wood carvings, there's even a clock resting on the wall. Clocks, I believe, are a magic tool far more expensive than they're worth considering how little utility they offer. Though, they're more valuable out here, where unlike towns there are no bells to ring out the time.

As for the window with light pouring through it… I imagine this is a plate of crystal in the window sill. It's very clear.

It seems that I can use the cloth on the sides to block the light if I so wish. This, and much of the room in general, must have cost quite a lot of DP in total.

All in all, I'd say it's more than fine enough to be considered a grand suite. Or rather, a grand capsule suite.

Oh, I forgot for a moment that it has a bathing room and a toilet as well. I shall… investigate them immediately.

The bathtub has no water, but surprisingly enough, it's made of wood. Mmm. It smells nice as well. Is this made out of the same lumber as the one they used on the sculptures and the furnitures?

Ah… Is this the lever that produces hot water? There's a sheet of paper explaining things beside it.

I read the sheet of paper carefully, trying not to miss out on any detail. I see, so this is the lever produces that hot water and this one produces cold water.

I began experimenting on it by pouring hot water into the tub. Mmm… It feels a little bit too hot? Ah, the idea must be to pour out cold water at the same time.

Once I was done with my experiments, I turned to my trusty right hand woman.

"What do you think, Chloe?" She accompanied me for a long time so she should also have an equal amount of knowledge as me regarding inns and grand suites.

"This is quite an excellent room. At the very least, it's superior to any grand suite we've stayed at in the Holy Kingdom." The quality of this room is surprising, even to me. I sat down on the chair and decided what to do next from there.

"…This is quite a comfortable chair, I like it." It's almost as if I'm sitting on a chair made of jelly. It's soft yet it also didn't lose its firmness.

"My lady, it says here that the chair you're sitting in is a magic tool known as a massage chair. It seems that it will give you a massage if you put a copper coin into it."

"Really now? I shall try that out." I ask Chloe to put a copper coin into the chair, and once she does, it started to shake. I could feel my body shaking along with it.

"Wh-Wh-Wh-What in the world is this?! Fwaaaah!" Oh, what's this? This isn't half bad…

"My lady?! A-Are you alright?!" Chloe seems to be worried but she didn't really have anything to worry about.

"I-I'm, fiiine…! Aaah, this is amazing… Fwaah, it feels so goooood…" Aaah… I feel like just falling asleep now, as I am… I spent a lot of time finishing up work so I could come here, so… aaah…

Before I even noticed it, I fell asleep.

✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽

I woke up when I felt someone covering me with something as I slept. There's just one person who's with me inside the grand capsule suite so I'm pretty sure who it was.

Sure enough, when I opened my eyes, I saw Chloe looking over me after she covered me with a blanket. Hm… This blanket is quite soft. It's not very thick, but it still feels nice and warm.

"…I must ask them to lend this chair to me. I imagine it will cost at least ten gold pieces…" This will be really useful to me. I want it.

"I have never seen a magical tool like this before. In which case, it must be fairly valuable." She does have a point. I've also never seen something like it.

"…Surely it's worth no more than fifty gold pieces."

"If you've grown that fond of it, why not investigate it yourself to try and make your own?"

"Ah, that's quite a good idea… but since I took a nap, I'm now in the mood for supper. I hope it's not too late for it. Either way, I believe I just have to push this button and wait for them."

The button has a simple cover over it so as to prevent accidental pressing. This cover is made of crystal as well, for some reason…

I see no seams on it, which must mean he's shaving a large crystal down into this shape. Why go that far for something this trivial? I put thought to the back of my mind and pressed the button.

Immediately, I hear the sound of two pieces of metal vibrating against each other outside of the room. I wonder how this works? Is this thing in the [Inn's] options as well?

After a brief wait of only three minutes, someone knocks on my door. That was quite fast. I suppose they're using DP for the food as well, then.

"Sister, I've brought you your food!"

"Please come in, Rokuko!" After I opened the door wide, I saw a pushable food cart in front of Rokuko. It has three meals on top of it. Each meal is covered with a silver dome known as a cloche, hiding their contents. That is another sign of this service being quite high level. In fact, I recall the food in one country's grand suite being brought to me bare.

To make a long story short, the food was great. The experience was even better since I ate with Rokuko, before taking a bath with her.

This has been, so far, the best day of my life. The food was good, the reception was good, and I had a lot of time to relax due to this magical 'massage chair' and the relaxing aroma.

Once we're done with taking a bath, I went to bed, with Rokuko sleeping beside me. This is the best day of my life, no doubt about it.
