Alexander sat bolt upright from the bed, a loud crashing sound waking him up. After he managed to get up from bed, he only managed to make it two steps to the window before starting to feel faint, and eventually crashing to the ground.

In the blue and white swirling room, a snort could be heard from the figure cloaked in gold. "Chaos stones? Really?"
"Of course. If it ain't broken, don't fix it, and Chaos Stones do wonders in ruining civilizations. Some turn into abominations, some get awesome powers and/or a body upgrade, some remain normal, and some simply die when transitioning. And, best of all, there's always someone who would use their new powers to gain control of their species. Wonderful."
The figure cloaked in gold let out another snort.
"Don't be like that sweetheart, this is just the beginning. Now, we should discuss who our heralds will be and when we send them....."

Alexander got up, eight hours later, rubbing his head, raking his head, trying to work out why he was lying on the floor with a sore head. Eventually, it came to him. He went to flick on the light, then walked towards the window, and drew aside the curtains. What he saw had him gasping.
There was a thick, black miasma that hung in the air, blocking out the sight of the sun in the sky. Alexander could barely make out the red bricks from the house across the street. Alexander reached for his phone, and his eyes widened when he saw it was 10:45am.
"Sh*t. I'm late for school."
Alexander rushed to put on a school uniform, and slung his red and black bag over his back. He went to walk outside before he paused. "Wait...if it's day, why can't I see outside?'
Alexander hesitated, before he put down his bag and went over to his wooden desk to check his laptop. After he flipped open the screen, his eyes widened in shock. The person in the reflection had the same tousled black hair, but was lacking the freckles, and had a more angular face. Alexander raised his right hand to his cheek, and the person in the reflection mirrored him.
"What the hell?"
Alexander rushed to the bathroom to take a look at his reflection in a mirror. He looked into the mirror above the bathroom sink, and he could hardly believe his eyes. His skin was smooth, and his face was lacking the freckles that used to cover it. His skin was still white, but slightly darker, lacking the pale tinge that was the occurrence of not enough sunlight. And his body...his body was toned, packed with muscle. He lifted up his shirt, and could see an eight pack reflected right back at him.
"What the hell is going on??! This must be some kind of a bizarre dream."
Alexander touched his abs, and the reflection mirrored him and he felt his firm abs. He put his hand down on the white ceramic sink, needing something to grip on. His hand smashed through the sink, sending pieces crashing to the floor. Alexander's eyes widened in disbelief and he held up his hand to his blue eyes, in disbelief that such a thing happened.
Loud thuds broke him out of his daze, and the familiar barking of the the blue and white cattle dog, Bob, could be heard accompanying the thuds. Alexander turned around, to see a massive, blue and white dog, running towards him wagging it's tail, with a third, golden eye visible on the top of it's forehead, slightly above it's two eyes, positioned in the middle.
Alexander froze, before doing what he thought was reasonable. He fainted in shock.

"Hahahahaha. These changes. and the way these mortal are dealing with the changes are awesome. Oh, and look, one world leader just got incinerated by his closest aide. AWESOME!"
"Enough with your gloating! Lets finalize our choices on who we will send."

Alexander regained conscious seven minutes later, to a massive tongue licking the back of his head. Alexander raised his hand, pushing the massive head away from his face as he got up from the floor. After standing up, he looked at the dog, Bob, that was half his size standing on all four legs. Alexander rubbed his eyes, and the sight remained. "okay, what the hell is going on?"
Alexander looked at the massive dog, and called out tentatively "Bob?"
The massive dog immediately pounced on Alexander, sending him crashing to the floor with a loud thud and started licking his face. Alexander once again pushed the dog away, saying "easy boy, easy. Let me get up."
After standing up once again, Alexander took a step forward, and reached out to touch Bob slowly, and the dog closed it's eyes in contentment as Alexander rubbed him around the neck like he always does. "Weird. What the hell is going on. Is there some kind of radiation mutation or something?"
After five minutes of rubbing Bob's neck, Alexander moved towards his laptop, and booted up the screen. Alexander checked in the bottom of the screen, and saw it was 11:00am. He then glanced at the window, and saw the black miasma covering everything outside.
"Uhhh, do I go to school or not?"
Alexander tried to look up any emergency updates regarding school, or anything for that matter, but found nothing. As he went to call his friends, the light in his room cut out.
"Okaaay, this is definitely not normal."
Alexander tried to contact his friends by his mobile, and he found that he couldn't get through. Panicking, he turned off the screen of the phone, and closed his eyes, trying to sort out what to do in his mind. Eventually, he decided to walk to school. Opening his eyes, he was surprised he could see fairly well in the darkness, at least well enough to navigate. He could make out the contours of the door, and everything else in his room.
Heading to the kitchen, he called Bob, and left out a tray filled with a can of dog food, before he proceeded to walk in the pitch black miasma towards school.
After walking past three houses in the pitch black neighborhood, Alexander froze, hearing something faintly in the distance, that sounded eerily like....a scream?
Alexander shuddered, and tried to dismiss it, repeating over and over in his head "I'm just hearing things, that's not a scream I just heard."
Eventually, he steeled himself, and started walking forwards again. After passing a couple more houses, his confidence grew, and after passing another house, he could faintly hear a motorbike in the distance.
Elated, Alexander made his way towards the direction of the bike, wanting to see another human. As he approached the motorbike, he could start to hear thuds and the sound of hissing, getting steadily louder as he drew closer.
"What the hell?"
After a passing a couple more houses, he started following a street down that would lead him to onto the street the motorcycle was on. He started running down the street, hoping to make it to the crossroads before the motorcycle drove past. As he made it to the end of the last house on the street, about to walk past the end of the house, he stopped running raising his hands, prepared to yell as he passed the corner.
"HELL..."
Alexander froze, wide eye, in fear and shocks. A man was on a black and silver motorbike, dressed in a plain shirt and shorts, with a black helmet, constantly looking over their shoulders. Pursuing it was a large, thin, humanoid figure with with massive eyes, a flat nose, and an angular mouth, with flowing black hair. It kept slashing at the man on the bike with it's pointed nails as it drew steadily closer, hissing, exposing it's pointed, angular teeth.
Alexander let out a brief, low scream, and turned around, bolting for his house, hoping to hell that the creature didn't see him. As he kept looking over is shoulder, he saw the motorbike wiz by, with the abomination following shortly afterwards. Alexander felt a small twinge of relief, but didn't dare slow down until he reached the safety of his house. Once he was inside, he shut the door, bolting it and going to his room. He didn't dare leave the safety of his house again.
