Three - The game of Choice

Phoenix sat on her seat as she waited for the teacher to arrive. She was using that medium to look around her. She saw as some of the students were using their powers.

"You are thinking about Adrian, aren't you?". Niko Lee asked.

The girl he was talking to hits him on his shoulder with a book. "Get out my mind Niko!".

"Not my fault i can read you like a book. So tell me Kayla, did i guess right?". Niko asked teasing Kayla.

Kayla Wilson is Adrian Oxford's girlfriend. They have been dating for three months and Kayla can't help but be overprotective of her boyfriend.

Adrian walks in as he took his seat next to Phoenix. Phoenix looked at him wondering why he didn't say anything to her like perhaps question her.

"Your boyfriend is here". Niko whispered to Kayla.

"I guess you don't like the way your hair is". Kayla said bringing out fire from her hand. Niko became quiet. Kayla was happy that she finally got him to shut up.

Phoenix concentrated on some other students that were using there powers to disappear and appear. She found herself smiling at the whole thing.

"Everyone to your seats! Now!". The lady with the green eyes said. Ophelia scanned the room checking to see if the students are complete. "Where's Orson and Kellon?". She asked after scanning the room.

"Kellon said he was going to the past to get something from a dinosaur". Brett said.

"So you mean he traveled back in time?". Ophelia asked.

"Exactly what i meant". Brett answered.

"And Orson?".

"I think he said he was going to space to make a footprint on the moon or something like that". Lynn answered.

"I see". Ophelia shook her head. They haven't really began a proper training and that's why some of the students are misusing their powers. "Anyways, if you look around you will see there's a new student in our midst. Phoenix can you come out here?". Ophelia asked. Phoenix stood up. She stood beside Ophelia. "Introduce yourself".

Phoenix eyes scanned the room as if searching for something. She could see the looks on some of her classmates and they weren't appalling but she didn't let that bother her. "Hi. My name is Phoenix Robinson. It's a pleasure to meet y....". Phoenix was half way through with her introduction when they started bombarding her with questions.

"Do you have powers?". Shonnie asked.

"What sort of powers do you have?". Luz asked.

The questions kept coming but Phoenix was silent.

"Can you guys just shut up for a second?". Maya said. She turned to look at Phoenix who was already feeling bad. "She has powers and that's why she's here...".She looked at Phoenix again who was staring back at her. "..it's just that she needs time to find out what power she has". That was enough to shut them up.

"Thank you Phoenix. You can go back to your seat". Ophelia said.

Phoenix walked to her seat and the number of stares she received was more than the number of her hair. She sat down and she turned to look at her seat partner who glanced at her before looking away.

"That was a cool ride!". Kellon said. Kellon appeared into the class and so did Orson unknown to them Ophelia was inside the classroom watching them with folded arms.

"Next time we'll go together". Orson said. He decided to go to his seat only for him to see Ophelia looking at them with folded arms.

"Yo! Why are you looking like you just saw a ghost?". Kellon asked when he saw the reaction on Orson's face.

Orson tapped him on his shoulder, pointing to Ophelia. Kellon turned and he was shocked almost losing his balance. "Miss Ophelia". He called his voice sounding a little bit shaken.

"How was the ride?". Ophelia asked them. "Did you get the dinosaur you wanted to get?". She referred the question to Kellon. "And you..". She faced Orson. "...did you get to walk on the moon?".

"Um...". They both answered.

"Actually, we um... didn't". Kellon answered. "We had to come back because we heard your voice".

"I see".Ophelia said not believing their words. "Detention...the both of you". She pointed to the both of them. Orson and Kellon groaned as they took their seats.

"Adrian, can you help distribute this papers?". She asked as Phoenix' seat partner stood up.

Oh he's Adrian. Phoenix thought. That means he is Kayla's boyfriend? She asked as she turned to look at Kayla whose gaze was firmly fixed on Adrian.

Adrian distributed the sheets to everyone after he was done, he sat down only for him to see Phoenix's eyes were glued on him. "I know I'm handsome. You can stop staring now". Phoenix choked as she covered her mouth. She wasn't expecting that.

"Phoenix, are you OK?". Ophelia asked.

"Yes". Phoenix stopped coughing. Maya turned back to look at her friend to make sure she's okay. Phoenix understood that Maya was worried so she smiled and nodded before Maya concentrated on the sheet in front of her.

"What you're holding right now is your first mission". Ophelia said. "You will be shared into eleven groups that is three persons in a group". She stated. "The eleven groups have different names - Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Purple, Violet, Indigo, Black, White, Margenta".

"Do we get to choose our members ourselves?". Maya asked.

"No. I have a game to decide that". Ophelia said. "Here are 33 papers crumbled and this 33 papers contains the eleven groups. Each student chooses one paper and whatever group you fall in, that's going to be your group". She explained. Ophelia put the thirty-three crumbled paper on her desk. "Do you have any questions?".

Kayla raised her hand. "Yes Kayla".

"Can we perhaps change partners?". She asked.

"No. You stick to your partner throughout this first mission".

Maya looked at Phoenix. "I'll be fine". Phoenix whispered.

"Any more questions?". Ophelia asked. She looked to see if anyone was raising his or her hand but no one did. "If there is no more question, form a single line and pick your paper". She told them. The students did as commanded.
