The truth is, I still need to finish a research paper I've been working on after our girls' meeting. I look at my homework and then at my face in the mirror. It's horrible, I have matted hair and ears that reach the ground.
—I think I'll catch up with them at the party.
She nodded.
—I'll send you the address later, don't stress —she says, waving goodbye.
It doesn't take long for me to hear the cabin door close, letting me know I'm all alone.
I put on some music. Music to study because knowing myself I start to jump and follow the rhythm of the music.
I have to research the function of every part of a firearm and even though my specialty isn't nearly specialized in that field, I'm still going to have to use one. And I better know what I'm doing if I don't want to get shot.
