Chapter 2397 Genesis Immortal Venerable Dies!?

"Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable!"

Giant Sun was shocked at his arrival.

"This means that 2 out of Heavenly Court's 3 Venerables have been reborn…"

Giant Sun Immortal Venerable was in a difficult conundrum. He had to decide where to place his chips.

On the one hand, leaving Spectral Soul Demon Venerable alive meant leaving a living calamity to roam the world.

But on the other hand, he would be forced to do the battle of 3 Venerables with a severe disadvantage.

With Fang Yuan and Spectral Soul dead he alone would have to bear the brunt of Star Constellation Immortal Venerable and Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable.

Giant Sun's face was grim.

"No matter which side I choose I suffer a great loss…however, I have some advantages over Heavenly Court, I have hope!"

While it was true that Heavenly Court having 2 Venerables, meant that they now had the capability to progress at a steady pace, while also preventing others from advancing.

One Venerable could act as a shield, while the other refined the natural Dao Marks, or 1 Venerable could prevent other Venerables from refining their natural Dao Marks, while the other defended Heavenly Court.

"But that advantage is little lost since Heavenly Court no longer has anyone or thing to defend! Meanwhile, I have a steady supply of top-talents and Immortal Essence, meaning I can by time for my descendants to become Venerables!"

Yes! That was Giant Sun Immortal Venerable's plan all along!

To have a force of Venerables all Blood related to him, giving him a strong boost through his Blood Path methods.

He could also ensure loyalty as he was the patriarch and only progenitor of the Huang Jin Bloodline.

While he didn't have absolute control over his descendants, he had enough to ensure that they would feel positive emotions towards him and, also a nuclear trump card to keep them in check.

"If there ever comes a day where they betray me, I have the Killer Move, Blood Is Thicker Than Water!"

Giant Sun began to slow down his attacks.

"Giant Sun! Why have you slowed down your attacks?" Star Constellation quickly picked up on his behavior and roughly understood his current attitude to the situation.

"Giant Sun is definitely feeling nervous now that Heavenly Court has regained one of its Venerables, we need to see where his attitude lies, although he is an enemy of Heavenly Court, he is not unreasonable or purely Demonic."

Star Constellation and Genesis Lotus were communicating via mind link.

Genesis Lotus nodded: "Mhm, we need to give him the false impression that we have the overwhelming lead, right now I am able to harness the power of the imagination and reverie of the people but that won't last long. I have no Gu related to either Painting or Human Path on me."

Indeed, Genesis Louts was riding on the high that came from being revived, he used brute force to push Spectral Soul back, but he knew that this steam would wear out.

"Agreed. We need Giant Sun to commit to killing Spectral Soul and then we can make an immediate retreat," after saying that Star Constellation took out a few Immortal Gu and passed them to Genesis Louts in front of Giant Sun.

Giant Sun saw this and made no comment, but he began thinking in his mind: "That's his strength without Gu!? Now that Star Constellation has given him back some, even though their only Rank 8, how much more would his strength be augmented by?"

Which was exactly part of Star Constellation's plan.

She was trying to bluff Giant Sun into committing stronger attacks on Spectral Soul, in a bid for him to seek peace with Heavenly Court.

"If I can just get him to think that Heavenly Court's victory is inevitable, then I could probably entice him into becoming a vassal of Heavenly Court!"

Truly Star Constellation shows the bearing of the number 1 Wisdom Path cultivator, being able to make plans from scenarios outside her expectations.

As the 3 Venerables were thinking and scheming, from the cloud of dust a lone figure emerged.

It was Spectral Soul Demon Venerable!

"Dammit…! Now's not the time I have to leave!"

Spectral Soul had snapped out of her bloodlust and began to think more rationally once again.

She ignored the other 3 Venerables and shot for Spectral Heaven.

"Quick! Don't let her get away!" Star Constellation called out as she and Genesis Lotus chased after Spectral Soul.

Giant Sun frowned.

He was really stuck between a rock and a hard place.

"Spectral Soul must have regained her sanity and assessed that she was no match for 3 Venerables," Star Constellation said.

Genesis Lotus nodded in agreement.

It seemed like the logical thought process, yet something felt off.

Spectral Soul was making great progress but the other 3 Venerables were hot on her tail.

"Dammit…"

She turned around and fired 3 Orbs of Fire.

"Careful!!!"

Star Constellation shouted out.

The Fire Orbs that Spectral Soul shot out were not simple, they would latch onto the target and drain the Dao Marks out of them to fuel its Fire.

"Hmph,"

Genesis dodged while eyeing Spectral Soul, there was a fear in her eyes that seemed peculiar.

At that moment Giant Sun Immortal Venerable launched a Gold Pillar of Luck at Spectral Soul.

It hit her, causing her to slow down.

"Good shot Giant Sun Immortal Venerable," as Star Constellation turned to praise, but she then realized that Giant Sun had used that moment to flee back to Longevity Heaven!

She messaged Giant Sun: "Friend, I did not know you were such a coward we have Spectral Soul on the ropes and have just killed Fang Yuan, the era of righteousness is on the rise, it's not too late to join if you submit to,"

But before she could finish speaking Genesis Lotus screamed out: "Star Constellation!"

He pushed her aside as a thin white blade slid its way through his neck and chased after Spectral Soul Demon Venerable.

The white blade was quiet and undetectable, yet it passed through Genesis Lotus like it was nothing.

It was still gaining speed as it chased after Spectral Soul.

"Fang Yuan damn you!!!" Spectral Soul roared out as she felt the deep Killing Path intent emitting as the blade drew near.

Time was slow for Spectral Soul.

The next few seconds determined life or death, victory, or defeat.

In slow motion, Spectral Soul moved 1 step at a time while the blade moved 3.

Just as the blade hit her back, she had crossed the threshold of Spectral Heaven.

"ARGGGGHHHHH,"

Spectral Soul's scream covered the entire 5 Regions.

Her fate was unknown.

Horror and shock were still reflected on Star Constellation's face as she slowly turned around, and on the ground looking up at her was none other than

Fang Yuan!

"B..but h…h..how? We saw you die."

Rewinding time a bit.

Even further before the whole game between the 4 Venerables, back to when Star Constellation asked Fang Yuan for Wisdom Gu!

It all started when Fang Yuan thought: "Why can't I make Gu Houses into Gu?"

Since Killer Moves were just incomplete Gu recipes and Gu Houses were just a form of Killer Moves.

This led to him spending time deducing and testing his theory.

The initial application, he thought, would allow a Gu Immortal to have a Gu that could do multiple things.

Gu are typically restrained to one or two uses, on their own, for example, Wisdom Gu alone would turn Lifespan into Thoughts.

But Killer Moves allowed Gu's to come together to produce a different effect, the result often becoming greater than the sum of each individual Gu.

So then, what about Gu Houses?

Their key function is the ability to use multiple Killer Moves with no setup required, and very little thought.

But upon some initial experimentation, he found that such Gu, while possible, lost out on a lot of the benefits of a Gu House.

He could create such Gu, but were they worth it?

Half the battle for Gu Houses was providing defense and movement.

A Gu would lose that advantage.

Fang Yuan could not think of a good use case and thus, left it aside until Star Constellation brought up buying Gu.

Inspiration struck at that exact moment: "What if I make a Fake Gu using this principle! I could steal the deductions of Star Constellation Immortal Venerable by helping in their production!"

Ironically enough Fang Yuan got some inspiration for this idea from what Star Constellation did to Limitless and his formation in the Crazed Demon Cave.

As Star Constellation was talking to Fang Yuan's Will in Treasure Yellow Heaven, he could comfortably use Stealing Heavenly Secrets in the Eastern Sea to deduce a Gu House that specialized in stealing thoughts.

Of course, the construction of the Gu House required him to use Wisdom Gu as the base, so that Star Constellation would not notice, but since it would be used as a material Fang Yuan could re-refine it later!

He called it: "Myriad Thought Prison"

He immediately fired up the Four Elements Square Regret Blood Refinement Pool and began refining the Myriad Thought Prison Gu.

It had 2 primary functions,

The first was that it acted exactly like Wisdom Gu did and the Second was that it would copy the deductions and send them to Fang Yuan!

Thus, from the beginning, Fang Yuan knew the plans of the 3 Venerables to kill him using the Yin-Yang Phantasmal Killing Array!

He knew everything, every flaw, and even how to control and use the formation.

So, he set a plan into motion.

He understood how the Formation worked and how and when they were going to use it, he knew that Star Constellation was actually faking when she said 25%!

From the moment she announced 25% it was actually already at 50!

He knew every step of her plan, because of the Myriad Thought Prison Gu.

But unfortunately, Star Constellation was no idiot and had implemented a fail-safe in the Killing Array.

It would self-destruct after 2 uses.

Why 2?

Because they thought Fang Yuan would be able to survive 1 so it was a backup.

Both Giant Sun and Spectral Soul agreed on this as the former was scared of the array and the latter didn't want its secret to ever be exposed.

"Living through the Yin-Yang Phantasmal Array is not easy, without the complete Road of Life it would have been very hard," Fang Yuan thought to himself.

Star Constellation was still shocked, but she quickly pulled herself together: "Good good good. Fang Yuan, you've bested us all once again,"

Her face was still a mixture of shock and anger as she flew off.

Fang Yuan didn't try to stop her as even though he did block the Killing Array, the damage sustained was not trivial, escape even from 3 Venerable would have been possible but he definitely could not kill 1 right now.

"Hehe, to think that there are now 5 Venerables, the times are truly getting interesting,"

Back in Emperor City,

The giant portrait of Genesis Lotus flickered as a body emerged from the painting.

"Fang Yuan you sly bastard!"

It was Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable!
