Entry

Clion headed towards the bed with confidence. The years of relentless training gave him a bit of arrogance. He knew that he had to shake that off as even the greatest efforts would not be enough to become the best. Clion sat down and waited for the Examiner to do his thing.

"Your internal structures looks normal and your physically fit, you are ready to begin your training. However… I must warn you." Said the examiner with concern.

"Our village is small and what we lack the most are talented youths and food. So please don't do anything risky and astray from Lani's orders."

"Yes, I will remember your words sir." Nodded Clion as he walked out.

"You three, prepare your belongings and come to the training barracks to begin your training and lessons." Said Lani as he walked away.

How did he know I passed the examination? Thought Clion. And why are these two here instead of preparing? Clion was baffled.

"Well guys. Let's go." Said Clion.

"To where?" Asked Jai with interest.

"Pack our stuff?" Said Clion as he walked back to his house.

"Oh right… what are you staring at, Jas?" As he too walked back.

I just wanted to know our status of eligibility, you bastards. Thought Jas, as he too, walked back.

Clion reached his house and started to prepare. He tied his spear to his back while packing toiletries and necessities he needed inside a bag. As well as the Qi book, the most important thing of all. He wandered about the lessons would begin, as he assumed it would come first before the training.

Clion was all packed up and ready to head out. He looked back at his house wondering when he would return to it. As he also looked towards the village. The luscious grass covering the hills with colorful plants growing around edges of the wall. The terraformed land differed drastically from the wilderness outside the walls.

Those thick bushes and plants blocking the views in front, with large thick trees growing as tall as the eyes could, blocking even the slightest touch of sunlight.

Clion would try to look as much as he could at the view whenever the gates opened. The gates opened every 3 months to let the soldiers go hunting, and it would take them 10 days to get back, bringing in wild animals, fishing was possible as there was a river right outside the village.

But that didn't mean it was easy. The fishes were tough, and quite big, as they varied to around a meter, though the size didn't deter them from being just as agile. It was basically impossible for regular villagers to catch one, especially since it was vivacious with its razor sharp teeth. Plus they weren't seen that often in the river anyway due to unknown reasons

Soon Clion reached the Training Barrack

greeted by a soldier. He entered inside and saw Jas and Jai already there waiting. For someone idling around they sure take quick to prepare. Or maybe my house is too far… thought Clion.

"Your here finally, follow me." Said Lani. As he led them towards a room. He pointed towards few desks, prompting them to sit down. They all said down waiting for the next instructions.

"There's not much to tour. The soldiers will show you around afterwards but let me tell you the rules first. My name is Lani, you must know this.

1. Captains Orders Are Absolute

You disobey, you're out. This is for your own good and the others.

2. No internal fights, if you must sort out your conflict, set a duel.

3. No killing or other crimes outlawed in the village.

This should be obvious. But soldiers get too arrogant and think they can turn a blind eye to the village rules as well.

4. Don't slack off.

You were chosen to be a soldier, it is an honorable role and you are the pillars that will support this village. "

Lani said with a firm tone.

"Now follow this soldier here for the tour and your room and go to sleep." Lani pointed at one of the soldiers.

Clion and the others were in their room after the tour, sitting on their beds. The sun had set and one could hear the feint beastly noises still outside the walls. The three were all up mediating, before they went to bed, no one spoke a word.

"When do you guys think we will go out hunting? Are you guys excited? Or afraid?" Asked Jai Lin.

"Yes." Said Jas as he fell asleep quicky.

"He finally said a word, I almost thought he couldn't speak." Said Clion while also laying down, falling asleep in an instant.

I didn't get a single proper answer today, these two will drive me crazy thought Jai.

Clion and Jas woke up before the sun even rose, looking at each other as if they both understood something. Clion got up and stretched when the door burst open causing Jai to jump out of his bed.

"Wake up! Time for your lesson! But before that go eat breakfast and come back to the other room." Lani shouted towards them.

Clion and the others got prepared as they headed down.

"Finally, I didn't even get to eat dinner last night." Said Jai as he went down on the "breakfast".

"You have a butchers appetite but your character is not like how I pictured." Said Clion.

"And you're short." Added Jas.

Jai for once decided to be the one ignoring them as he continued on eating. They finished up and headed towards the room. Anxious to begin their lesson.
