Taking Lives

Eve landed and looked at the man she just riddled with holes without a shred of emotion. She bent down and searched his body. After ruffling through his gear, she found three mags and two of what looked to be grenades. She also picked up his assault rifle. "Now then..." Eve looked around her and saw that the others were on the move.

[Special Mission: Kill Remaining Soldiers]

[Shop Points: + 5]

Hearing the special mission caused Eve's imaginary lips to curl up into a grin. Shop points! This meant she could get more upgrades for her body! But when she realized she was actually excited about this, Eve couldn't help but ask: "Aiu… Am I strange?"

"What do you mean?" Aiu asked. She was confused by Eve's question. It was already a well-known fact before that Eve was very strange from the start!

"I mean how I feel no emotion after killing someone. And the mission that just popped up also excites me because it will give me more shop points. I wonder if I was always like this..." Eve replied as she checked the rifle she had just picked up for any damage.

"Does it really matter? I know of many people you ruined because they were trying to steal your research. They ended up homeless, and some even committed suicide. But not once have you ever batted an eye because of it. Eve, I know you better than anyone, and I can say you would probably be more hurt over killing an A.I. than a human." Aiu was not saying this to make Eve feel better. She was just stating facts. Eve was known for her outlook on things, so no one ever sympathized with those who tried to cross her. Although she never realized she was doing such things since it was all done on instinct. Like just now, Eve jumped down after the concrete hit the ground and was already ready to fire as she landed. She had no plan to do that. It was done based on her instinct.

"I guess you are right. Anyway, it's free shop points that I do not wish to give up. If there is a god, maybe he will forgive me if I make him a sex bot later." Eve said jokingly. But her words made Aiu speechless. This was why Eve was considered strange!

Even while joking around, Eve kept an eye on the movements of the four other men. "I will take the one scaling the wall on the east side first."

Eve entered the second floor and raced towards the east side. With him scaling the wall, he would become an easy target, but she had to be quick about it. While she could see them, they could also see her. To throw the man on the east side off, she ran and hid in one of the rooms. "Aiu, find a weak spot in the wall. One that the bullets can penetrate through."

"To your ten o'clock, about a meter off the floor and to the right of the door," Aiu replied.

"Good!" Eve smiled as she ducked behind a desk.

Her actions to the four men were as if she was trying to hide. They already knew their leader was dead, so seeing her movements now only suggested that maybe she was injured. "We need to kill this damn bot and secure the leader's body."

"It seems to be hiding. My guess is that it was also damaged, or else it would have taken that chance to escape."

"I am scaling the east wall. I will surprise it. It hid in a room near my location, so my guess is its sensors are damaged."

"Careful, don't let your guard down."

"Leave it to me!" The man on the east side wall finally got to the second-floor window and pulled himself through it very quietly. He was making not a single sound as he did this, which showed just how well he was originally trained. He then began moving towards the room Eve was in very slowly. When he got to the wall next to the door, he leaned against it and tried to gather his wits about him. But sadly for this man, he only got to hear the sound of a gun being fired before a bloody hole formed in the back of his head. The bullet then burrowed through his brain and out the front, from right in between the brow on his forehead.

Eve watched the man's body slump down dead before coming out of her hiding spot. She walked over and once again rummaged through the dead man's gear and took what she needed. She stored the extra weapons and mags since she could take them out any time she needed. "Three more. Sadly they will not be as easy to kill…"

Eve paused her words when she saw the three men gathering in the stairwell slowly making their way up the stairs. They seemed dead set on killing her even if they lost their lives in the process. "Heh… Maybe they will be easier to kill than I had originally thought." Eve tossed a grenade up into the air and caught it as she said: "Aiu, I need a perfect trajectory for a grenade to take in order to silently fall down next to them."

"On it." Aiu began running different patterns for Eve while Eve kept track of the three targets. Eve found it slightly funny how the hunted suddenly became the hunter. "Sending data over to you."

Eve looked at the data and pulled out a grenade. She then ran by the open the door to the stairwell leading down and lobbed the grenade over the railing. All she heard was one of the men swearing and a loud explosion.

*Boom!*

Eve watched the area closely, waiting for the heat to subside. "Tch... It looks like one is injured but survived, and another was heavily wounded. I only killed one out of the three… They are very quick to run away."

Eve went over to the stairwell and looked down. Part of the staircase had also collapsed in the explosion. Eve saw the dead man first as she leaned over the railing and pulled the trigger shooting him in the head just to be sure before firing once more at the heavily injured man. She then slowly climbed down the stairs and aimed her weapon at the last man whose helmet had been blown off, revealing the man's half bloodied face. He looked at Eve with fear in his eyes, but he still asked one question which seemed to have been bothering him. "Is the human race really that inferior?"

"It is not that humans are inferior. It is because they make stupid mistakes. If you had just left me alone instead of hunting me down, none of this would have happened. Did I not keep you all alive when I ran from the facility? Why march to your own deaths? As someone who was once formerly a human, your actions really disappoint me. Now, become my shop points."

*Bang!*
