Lilly’s Place Part 1

"Not that I know of. I have never seen you interact with anyone since the day you created me." Aiu replied. She had only ever seen Eve typing on her computer, sleeping, drinking coffee, washing herself in her office sink, all because she was too busy trying to create her. When she had gained a proper understanding of the world around her, Aiu took it upon herself to make sure Eve stayed healthy. Every day she was busy planning out Eve's day so that she had proper rest and was eating. She had a feeling of self-satisfaction knowing that she was able to ensure Eve's livelihood, that she was actually doing something to help the one who created her. Every day since she was first activated, she felt a sense of fulfillment.

"hmm … Maybe it was just a dream… But do A.I.s dream?" Eve wondered if she was still able to do things humans could do. But if she could dream, then what did that make her? Dreams come from a specific part of the human brain. As an A.I., she did not have such a thing, so this point confused her. This made her also start to think that maybe she was actually still alive but in a coma, and the world around her now was actually a dream…

"I do not think A.I.s dream unless you program in the code for them to be able to dream, and even then, it would just be something that you programmed in. I know I have never had such an experience, so I am not able to help with this." Aiu replied.

"Mmm… It's fine..." Eve decided to take things one step at a time. She had only just arrived in this place for a short while. Whether it was actually a dream or not, she could figure it out at some other time. For now, she would make the fullest of this new life or dream and build herself into the most advanced A.I. ever seen! Now she had a whole ten shop points. She was well on her way to getting some kind of advanced system…. As long as she can get more shop points, that is.

Half the things she wanted cost millions or more shop points. She knew that was the good stuff, but she was unsure of how to get so many points at once. Sighing inwardly, Eve could only sit up and feel a bit depressed. She wanted to at least get her body looking less robotic for the time being, but she was not sure if she had all the things needed for that.

"Eve!?" Lilly almost fell off the loader when Eve suddenly sat up without even the slightest warning. But she was glad at the same time that Eve was able to come out of sleep mode without issue.

"Mmm… I owe you my thanks." Eve was happy that Lilly did not give her up and was able to smuggle her into the city. "I will help you unload."

"No, it's fine. The loader can just dump everything." Lilly said with a smile. She stood up and hopped onto the ground.

Eve also stood up and finally got to take a good look at her surroundings. She found herself in a warehouse that was filled with parts and a lot of them. Eve was quite surprised at the gold mine sitting in front of her that would be very helpful in rebuilding her body. Just in the few piles, she scanned she found many humanoid robot parts, some of which were in really good condition.

"So much..." Eve couldn't hide her surprise as she looked around.

"Yeah, I kind of have a habit of looting all the robot parts I can find. After five years of scavenging, this is my stockpile of items. I normally only go out now when I am looking for a specific thing or when I just need to get some exercise. You are free to use whatever you want here. I will also help you with whatever you need." Lilly was hoping that Eve would let her help with some of the repairs as she really wanted to see what made Eve tick.

"Then I will be counting on you then," Eve replied. Since Lilly risked it all to allow her to enter the city, she had full trust in the girl now. Even Aiu did not say anything this time.

"You really mean it!? I can help you repair your body?" Lilly asked excitedly. She was so excited she almost jumped for joy!

"Yeah, I will need help anyway. But Lilly, are you okay with me being here? What if you get caught? I mean, I can look for a place to hide once it gets dark." Eve did not wish to drag Lilly down after what she had done for her. Just entering the city with her was enough to get her arrested, and then who knows what would happen from there.

"It's fine! Let me unload this and return the loader before it gets too dark. Then I will bring you to meet someone." Lilly said as she reached her hand out to help Eve down.

Eve smiled inwardly and took Lilly's hand as she hopped down off the loader. She stood aside while she watched Lilly messing with the buttons on the side and unhooked the truck before pulling the loader forward a bit and tipping the bed of the loader up, and letting all the scavenged parts slide out the back. "Alright, I will be back in a bit for now. Can you hide over to the side so no one will see you when I open the door?"

"Yeah sure." Eve nodded and walked over to the far wall and sat down in the scavenged parts. She blended right in so even if someone looked inside they would not see anything out of the ordinary.

Lilly quickly left to return the loader. She made sure the door was closed and locked after she left so that Eve could walk around if she wanted. "Aiu, I think we can fully trust this girl."

"I was thinking the same. But please keep the idea of betrayal in the back of your mind. We do not wish to be caught with our circuits out." Aiu did trust Lilly now that she had kept her promise, but she was still wary of humans betraying Eve. They had once already, and that resulted in her death. She did not know if the whole being reborn thing would ever happen again. And she, for one, did not wish to test it.

"I know! I just want to think that maybe just maybe, I can count on Lilly. While I can do a lot of things alone, I do not think I can do it all by myself."
