Blossom
I go back to the packhouse alone and go to my room to get ready for dinner. I try not to think about what just occurred between Justin and me but I can't help but re-live the moment in my head. There I was, opening up to Justin while he acts distant. We don't have the same chemistry Hana has with Ryan clearly but I wish we did. I want him to take me into his arms and to crash his lips into mine.
I just wonder how Justin truly feels. And why he's pushing me away. I'm not a girl anymore, I'm a full-grown woman who will turn 18 in 6 months. I feel he doesn't see that.
I finish getting ready and go meet Justin. It's finally time for dinner and we walk into the dining room together. The moment we enter the room all eyes are on us. I start to feel a bit nervous as we sit down at the table.
I look in front of me and see Hana sitting next to Ryan. Looks like we're not the only ones with news to share.
"Well, now that you had some time to talk, are you ready to get down to business?" Asks my mom.
"Of course," I firmly replied.
"Well that's great dear," says Irene kindly. "How soon do you want to move in? I know your 18th birthday isn't in another 6 months, but I was thinking I'd better to move in sooner."
"I think I should wait a couple of months. I need to finish school first."
"If school is what you're worried about I'm sure your father will be able to make an exception and let you finish early." Says Alpha Daryl.
"That's good I guess." Finishing school early sounds great, but I don't like the idea of moving out so quickly.
"Well, I'm glad you agreed because I feel that it might be more useful for you to come over to the pack to learn about being a luna."
"Well, I guess so," I say, not really convinced. I look Justin in the eyes asking for help. He immediately knows what I'm trying to tell him and speaks up.
"Mom, you don't need to pressure her so much. I'm willing to wait till you're ready Blossom, you don't need to worry about me or the pack."
"Yes, thank you Justin for understanding."
"Alright dear if that's what you want. I'm patient enough to wait a little bit for you to move in."
"Thanks, Irene."
"Well, I'm glad that's all settled. "Ryan?"
"Yes, Irene?"
"Is there something you like to discuss with us? I've noticed you've looked a bit restless since the start of this dinner."
"Yes, well… Hana is my mate."
Everyone looks surprised at the revelation and all the attention is suddenly turned to Hana and Ryan.
"I don't want to discuss when I'll be moving to the blood moon pack right now." Says Hana
"Yes, we'll talk about it in private." Ryan agrees.
"I am happy to welcome you to the pack Hana." Says Daryl.
"Thank you, sir," Hana replies politely.
"By the way, I remember Alpha mentioning something about you training to be a healer?" Inquires Irene.
"Yes, that's right,"
"You're welcome to continue your training in our pack. Our healer will be glad to take you on as an apprentice." Offers Irene.
"Is it really okay? Thank you very much." Hanna seems excited about the offer and I'm happy for her. Having a mate and settling down might not have been what she wanted but at least she is still able to work towards her dream of becoming a healer like her dad.
"Well now that it's all settled, why don't we have the food brought in?" Says my dad.
The food is brought to the table and everyone starts digging in. I lose my appetite and force myself to eat at least half of it.
"Not hungry?" Justin asks.
"Not really." I glance at his plate and see he has already finished his food. "You want the rest?"
I offer.
He accepts the food and grabs the plate. "Thanks." I smile at him. I can always count on him for anything.
Dinner is finished and we walk out of the dining room together and go somewhere quiet to talk.
"You don't have to feel pressured to move right away."
"Are you sure you'll be okay with that? What about your wolf?" I say with concern. Mated wolves can't be apart from each other, and although we're not officially mated because my wolf hasn't awakened yet, It'll still be tough for him. I feel like I need some time before moving packs, but at the same time, I don't want us to be apart.
"I'll be fine."
"I'm not sure…"
"I'll be fine, I'll come to visit you whenever I can."
"I'm sorry… I just.." I'm unable to find the right words for what to say but Justin looks at me understandingly.
"You don't have to apologize, I understand." He says as he takes my hands and looks me in the eyes.
"Thanks," I say and withdraw my hands. "I promise it won't be too long."
"No, take your time."
I know Justin is just being considerate but I feel he's happy that we're separating. I almost wish he was a little bit upset and would ask me to come with him.
"Are you that happy to get rid of me?" I say unable to hold back my thoughts.
"No, I didn't mean it like that…" He says a bit flustered. "I just wanted to respect your wishes."
"Okay," I say, still upset.
"Alright I admit I also need time, but I really do want you at the Pack."
"Thanks for being sincere. I think it's time for me to go to bed. I'm tired."
"I'll walk you to your room."
Justin walks me to my room and I feel sad when we finally arrive. I want to spend more time together.
"See you tomorrow," Justin says, hugging me.
"What time are you leaving?" I ask.
"Not sure yet but I promise I won't leave before saying goodbye."
"Good night, Justin."
"Good night," Justin replies.
I open the door to my room and feel lonely as I hear Justin walk away. I know it is not the last time I'll see him but I can't help but feel sad.
