Serina woke up from her slumber and looked around her. She didn't recognize the place and fear instantly soar from the bottom of her heart. She jumped to her feet and hid in a corner. She drew her knees to her chin and her eyes was focused on the door not far from her. She was vigilant and was ready to attack should someone comes in with malicious intention towards her.
The door creaked open and a man got inside with a tray of food in hand. She blinked her eyes at him. Once. Twice. But she didn't have the urge to hurt him even though she couldn't recognize him.
"You're finally awake!" Nicholas exclaimed happily. He wanted to hug her and shower her face with kisses but he got this feeling that Serina would attack him if he'd really do it. "I cooked some food for you. Come and eat first."
Serina didn't move from the corner she was at. She only looked at him and digested the velvety sound of his voice.
