Volts' training

Volts who was in his room reading a novel and seemed to doubt Celesta.

"Celesta has been quite active. It makes sense that the Mikadzuki would stop by and cause destruction once more at any time. Indeed, with more tight security, I wouldn't wager that it would prevent that from happening once more. They are too strong and I am far too inferior to them. It's embarrassing to admit that my life was saved by him. I ought to seek advice from Rozori." Volts was reading a book, and he was saying that he was skeptical of Celesta's security. Even with greater protection, in his opinion, all outcomes would stay the same as he was cognizant of their next setup of action and their strengths.

Volts, at that point, cleared out his room to search Rozori within the headquarters. He knew that Rozori would be within the twin's dorm to urge them to supper. That being said, he went to explore for him to close their dorms.

"Oh, Volts, what's up?" Rozori just left the room and saw Volts passing by.

"Rozori, I would like you to train me!" All of a sudden, Volts was eager to train. So, he asked Rozori to instruct him. The only person he knew well in the headquarters was him.

"Hmm? Why all of a sudden?" Rozori's face turned confused after Volts made a sudden request to train him. Rozori wouldn't mind at all but he seek the truth of his desire.

"I know you've been training day after day to get stronger. You didn't accept your defeat after that fight, were you?" Volts remembered Rozori's been going through emotions and underwent his defeat as one of his incentives to get stronger and reach awakening.

"Heh, darn, you got me good. I've been training so that I can protect people dearest to me. By which I mean, all of my friends and family. If you're looking for a partner to train your electricity magic, I'm not a your guy. You should go ask Leinn. She's a very strong commander and a fun fact she has awfully the same main ability as you." Rozori found it difficult to turn down Volts' offer to train. Rozori intended to train the Volts, but he let Leinn do it instead. Volts had no idea who she was, but he was convinced that she was at least a commander level and that she was a commander as well.

For his desire to train, Volts accepted and go right away to ask Leinn.

Rozori described her appearance as a magenta-haired woman with black and faint purple eyes and a very strict attitude. He hardly even saw her smile which kinda reminded him of Volts himself (Rozori hasn't seen his smile but Akira already has.)

He continued to look for further information because his description was lacking in specifics. Volts probed the entire area in an effort to detect her presence. He also has a peculiar talent for remembering heartbeats. She was close to Akira at the time, and he remembered memorizing her heartbeat. He eventually found her. Volts didn't have far to go, so he had to make haste before she get busy.

By the time he finally made it, he met up with her.

"Hmm? Ah... you must be Volts who's Rozori recruited. Is there anything I could help you with, young man?" Leinn was gentle and offered help if Volts needed one.

"Rozori told me I ought to look for you to train. So please, accept my request and let me become your apprentice." Volts bowed at a 30° degree angle to show some respect with a request to train.

"Sure, may I know what purpose?" Leinn accepted Volts's request and enquiring his purpose.

"I've been thinking that I might be too weak, and one day I want to partake in a tournament." Volts showed his purpose to train as he bow low. He was inspired by Akira who he needed to surpass so he wouldn't be in trouble and ask others to risk themselves.

Volts remembered how far he needed to go to reach elite status like it was yesterday. To surpass an elite level, he would need to at least gain full control over his electric magic. Controlling the voltage was easy enough, but he desired it to be higher than a hundred thousand. As a result, he reasoned that training would benefit him more and that he should save himself rather than have others risk their lives for him.

"Hmm, yes. The tournament will be open around next month or more and I can see why Rozori suggests you should ask me. Very well then, let us go." Leinn gave Volts a benevolent smile.

The tournament was where warriors, commanders, and generals competed together. Their goal was not just to win, but to view it as a motivational fight to raise their morale.

Once she finally agreed to train Volts, they both went outside instead of training in the field.

"The field is occupied, we shall train here." Leinn with her arms folded told Volts that the field was occupied by warriors who apparently had the same desire as Volts.

"Now let's begin your first lesson. Rozori informed me of your aptitude. He said that you can control voltage, which is fantastic news. Can you alter the shape of your electricity instead of just changing the voltage level?" Leinn required to know how advanced Volts's magic was.

"I can. I just lack control." Volts revealed that he could only channel electricity with little control over it.

"Then there's no need to go further. Your magic dominance is now the focus of your training. Don't waste the value of your time on getting stronger. A warrior who has great magic but has no control over it is simply useless. After you have done that part, then the next stage is to get stronger. " Leinn gave her suggestion that Volts needed mastery over his magic before moving onwards to get stronger.

"Let's have a little demonstration, shall we? Without something to witness, instead of listening to what others exemplify, it is better to give a demonstration." Leinn showed her magic in front of Volts, who was ready to witness her demonstration.

"See here? This is not easy and will have patience for weeks or maybe months of training. Following proper manners, it will be a pain to achieve this type of form without spewing out mana." Leinn turned her hand into an octopus-like tentacle coated with purple bright lightning.

"Like all other mages, to use magic without losing much mana they first need to perfect a form in line with their mastery over their magic. Just relying on skills to shape their magics is pitiful. So use your effort without using your skills. Although it may be tough, I have faith in your success. Or maybe train your vocabulary magic to chant spells if necessary. Vocabulary magic can enhance and train your main ability and so be it, choose your methods of solving your problems." Leinn dissipated her magic and ask for Volts's methods for his training.

Volts decided he would use his magic without the help of vocabulary magic.

"Alright. Now, hand them over, your nail spikes. If I'm not mistaken, these spikes helped you fight and pass on the intensity of your voltage for a long-distance fight. And that's very obvious you are only able to use your voltage manipulation on short distances." Leinn confined Volts's nail spikes for him to train effectively. It caused a deficiency in these nail spikes, knowing Volts hadn't yet been adept with his magic.

"That's it for now. Today is all about comprehending the philosophy behind magic's applications, and tomorrow is when you train. Exercise as much as you like. Time is precious; you cannot afford to waste it. 'kay I should probably leave you here. I'll give you a task, of course. Visit the settlement of Kasani. It's a task assigned by the mission room. You'll succeed; it's an A-rank mission." Leinn assigned Volts a task, reasoning that it could be okay for him to face a challenging assignment.

After she assigned him a mission, with a nod, Volts start his journey and went to Kasani by public transportation.

"Hmm... Six warriors have been reported missing in Kasani village since then, according to the mission's description. My goal is to enquire and dig more for information. Monsters have allegedly been lurking close to the village and looking for food. They were either captured and consumed by them, or it's possible the village offered them as a sacrifice." After a while, Volts arrived and was waiting by a sign pointing to the village route of Kasani. He had the terrible impression that the villagers were possibly up to something just based on his gut feeling.
