Chapter 2 Krsna- The Protector

Draupadi, daughter of Drupada, the king of Panchal, was married to the Pandavas. Draupadi had 5 husband ( Yudhistar , bhim , Arjun , Nakul , Sahdev) According to the Veda, it is believed that she was the main reason behind the Kurukshetra war. According to many texts, she was also known as the female version of Krishna due to her dark skin tone. She was the most beautiful princess of her time.

So, what led to the Kurukshetra war? Was it the thirst for the Throne? Was it the humiliation of Pandavas by Kauravas? Or something else? It was actually butterfly effect, everything actually affects everything. Smaller events can lead to larger effects or repercussions at the end. Kauravas humiliated Draupadi is such a manner that Pandavas could not stop the war to occur.

It happened on that day when Pandavas lost everything in the game of dice with Kauravas as Shakuni played some tricks. Yudhistra ( draupadi's husband ) lost all his brothers and himself after putting everyone at the stake. Yudhistra, unaware of the blunder he was going to do, put the stake on Draupadi to win back his brothers, empire, etc but he lost yet another time.

Duryodhana became very happy and stood up . Druapadi (She) was not present in the court as this was that time of the month for her when she was in her private quarters.

Then Duryodhana asked Dushashana to bring the lady in front of the court. Dushashan entered her room by breaking the doors and asked her to come to the court. She denied and said how you dare enter my quarter.

Dushashan did not listen to her and brought her in the court. Few people stood for revolting and said this was not done. But Duryodhana did not listen to them and said "This is law as she is our slave. I can treat her as whatever I want,". Draupadi begged and pleaded Bhishma and Dhritarashtra to stop Duryodhan. Then She questioned Bhisma few valid questions such as Did Yudhistra wagered him or me first? He answered, He already lost himself in the game of dice before betting on you.

noboby helped her then

She lost all hope and started crying and hide her face. Everyone from Duryodhan's clan started taunting her . Duryodhana said to Draupadi that, "Come sit on my lap". Bhima ( draupadi's husband) was enraged and took an oath, "one day I will break your thigh and kill you", he said.

Duryodhana ordered to disrobe the woman and Dushashan went on to pull the clothes. Draupadi closed her eyes and prayed to Shri Krishna to save her dignity. Miraculously, she was not disrobed and clothes appeared to save her.
