4 Heroes

27 4 Heroes

Let me ask you a simple question. How many heroes are there?

If someone were to answer that question then the answer must be the two people that go by the name Ren and Akari. I mean the only reason why they were there was because they were summoned to become heroes.

They even have special skills that mark a hero that no other person has. So they must be the heroes, right? As it turns out it isn't that simple.

What if it turns out that the two heroes you follow aren't the only ones. What if another two had gone through exactly what they had to get there. Spells, skills, all the same. Would they also be the heroes?

To top it off the so-called heroes you follow are outlawed and poor while the other two have the true titles of heroes and live in luxury. In that case, I propose this.

Who are the true heroes?

I guess it's all a matter of perspective.

The two "titled" heroes have already been greeted by the highest in the land. They have come to know the language, history, and culture of where they live.

The Higher Council had decided it would be necessary for these heroes to understand what they are truly fighting for. They think that if the heroes mingle with the lower people they will fight on their side.

So these heroes now interact with many towns in the kingdom, experiencing many new things. One of them, the man content with working at store-like businesses is moving smoothly. He seems even excited about the new environment.

The other hero has not had the same experience.

She, unlike the young man, finds this world the most inconvenient. Content with her normal life finds this new change absolutely horrific.

The higher council of course saw this as a total loss. They needed both to work mindlessly for them if they were to complete their mission.

So they concluded that by getting them both to set out on easy tasks that people praise them for they might learn how it feels to be a hero. The looks of people as they save them should become a new motivation for them to push through anything.

Hmm, and as it turns out there seems to be a small town in the kingdom with a little problem. A town with two delinquents causing havoc amongst the people and selling illegal gems to the people.

It even turns out their hair and eyes were pitch black a true sign of some type of demon. A demon that must be vanquished.

The titled heroes might have had this problem as well but since their summoning was true their colors were masked to better fit with the new environment.

If you find any similarities between the two different pairs of heroes I applaud you. Funny enough I think I recall the heroes you know and the titled heroes might have once known each other. Well, the female heroes ended with quite a falling out.

Remarkably, neither has had an interaction with the person they knew. Even more so the titled heroes see very little motivation to do what they came here for.

This town is on a fine line. It's difficult to determine what might happen if one thing goes wrong. This town, the people in it, and the diction it once had can so easily be lost.

So please my dear "anomaly" take care of your feeling and mind as the road ahead will leave both separated.
