Hopping out of my bed I get everything ready for today. The other day I did something really dumb and so today im going to rectify it.
All that matters is that I hurry up. 'Don't want to keep a girl waiting' ya know the saying? Which by the way I already failed at but now im trying to fall at it less.
Hurriedly I put all of my clothes on for the day. I even decide to use some water and fire magic to make some warm water to clean up my face.
Man what a big dummy I am. I did that all because of some bad experiences with women in the past? Seems like someone is a little philophobic are we? Scared of relationships and the such.
All I have to do is move on from the past. I mean come on im in another world I can't really get further than that. Sure it might still upset me but it's only human to move on and so I shall!

Yes! It's me learning from my past and becoming a better person that's what this is about. Totally not feeling anguish that I ruined my only opportunity to date a catgirl. No of course not.
Truthfully I should have left all of my regrets when I came here. When I went to school when I met 'her'. I should make it a habit to forget about that stuff.
Something I also shouldn't be thinking about is whether im going to wear the edgy outfit Mara got me. I've been standing here just looking at it for most of my prep time.
"Ahh screw it," I say as I reluctantly take it down from being hung up.
I knew from the begging I was going to have to wear it. Yet I took the time to ponder it anyway. Truly my disgust for this type of thing has a lot of impact on me. Too bad I guess I don't really have an option but to wear it.
Im going to her to accept her love! Then I'll get to give all the head pats I want!
With that motivation, I hold the door nob to my room. I take a second remembering how I was in the same position last night but this time I find the resolve to open it.
Nice step one is done now all I need to do is find Mara. It's around the time I would go to my job so I have an idea of where she might be at.
Hmm? That's odd. The fireplace isnt on. Well uh normally that wouldn't be odd but I swear I thought it was on…
Was it my fire spell from earlier? No, there's no way I only did it for a few seconds and I didn't burn anything with it.
Why the hell am I getting a faint sense of something burning? Whatever I should just hurry up and find Mara. Why should I care if our neighbors are having a cookout?
So I decide to have a quick look around the house…

Why is there blood leading upstairs? Uh, what's going on?
What are you talking about?
Ren? What about everyone else?
Getting really worried from my mental friend I race out the door but once again get stopped.
"Akari I can't recommend you do that." Edgy Akari says as he blocks my path.
"Huh? What are you talking about? From what mental buddy said it sounds like people may be needing my help around now."
"And you believe them? Please Akari for both you and me go back in your room and accept the quest reward."
Just then I hear a familiar robotic voice.
"
"But if I do that will everyone be all right?" I ask looking at the message I sware I put a timer on.
"I am only thinking about you and your future. Im just trying to help you." He continues to try and convince me.
"You didn't answer my question."
"Akari it's either you believe in me and go back in that room or you trust the anomaly and ruin your fate."
Ruin my fate? What is this guy on about? You're a fortune teller or something? The last thing I care about is some dumb fate!
I walk forward but get stopped by a single hand.
"Please reconsider."
"No," Saying that I move his hand away and race to the main road.
Running through the alleys I noticed something very wrong going on.
"Why is everything burning?"
For some reason buildings above me were on fire. Same with the ones ahead of me.
Umm. No thanks.
Using earth magic I lift the ground below me to push a good distance above the buildings. The higher I go the more and more building that I see that are… Yup totally on fire.
When I get to a height that Im too scared of going any higher I prepare a water spell. Scratch that a lot of water spells. Actually, you know what? Let's just say its way too much.
While casting enough water balls in the air to fill the sky of the entire town I quickly activate my infinite mana glitch, activating my skills' mana consumption and creation.
The water grows and grows exceptionally from my position until it finally reaches the edge of the town. Once it does I release all the water making it all fall on the town. Right behind the first wave of water, there is another and another.
The number of spells to cover the town was easily in the triple digits and with the multiple spells coming out of them it was definitely enough to quickly stop the fire.
Heh, you know what they say about these old medieval towns. Not very fireproof.
Suddenly I feel myself get lightheaded and instinctively hold my hand to my head. Whoops, I guess even with my cheat this much magic is too much.
So after totally dosing the town I finally stop and lower myself down. Once on the ground, I head over to where Ren and Mara were.
Since that spot was such a great lookout spot it wasn't too hard to find the two even better there both together.
"Sup guys," I say as I see the two on the main road.
Better yet they weren't too far away.
Something else that wasn't too far away ether was the goblins they were fighting. It was a range of the weak goblins you would see at the edge of the forest to the stronger ones found at the center.
Not only that but the amount of them was terrifying. I guess they must have been the ones to set this town ablaze. I guess this is retaliation for burning their village…
Wait is this my fault?!
Suddenly a goblin's body flies by my face landing far back behind me. Well, at least these two aren't having any trouble beating them up.
They both have very different expressions when they see me. Ren of course couldn't be more annoyed to see me while Mara looks delighted that im there.
Mara's look does make me feel a bit guilty though. I originally came out here to accept her confession, but obviously, the situation has changed.
As soon as the goblins in our area are defeated I get ready to ask what on earth was going on I get a question of my own.
"What the hell did you do?!" Ren asks as she points a dagger at me.
"Uhh, are you talking about the fire, goblins, or the water?" I ask
"All OF IT!!!" She yells at me.
"Technically I only did the water thing." I say technically speaking the truth.
"Technically?!"
Ren angrily walks up to me while pulling out a piece of paper with a magic circle on it. Huh is that how she fights? Magic circles? Cool. Thankfully before Ren is able to use them on me Mara steps in.
"Listen do you really think Akari would want to do all this?" Mara reasons while stopping Ren from walking any closer to me.
Ren stops and looks like she's thinking about something. Honestly, the pause is kinda insulting.
"Hmm… Whatever just hurry up and fix this mess I gata go help people out." Reb says as she turns away and heads down the road.
"Good luck hero!" I say as she gets a safe distance away.
She flips me off as she runs away.
Huh.
"Oof" I exhale as a feel something impact me.
"Im glad you ok," Mara says as she hugs me from behind.
"Oh uh ya. You too. I see you were making easy work of those goblins."
"Ha, those things? Common we both know those can't even lay a finger on us."
Kinda weird that you thought I was in any danger then but whatever.
"Hey, so Mara about last night I just wanted to apologize for how dumb I was acting"
Mara takes a moment to stare at me blankly but soon realizes what im talking about.
"Oh! That! Wow, didn't expect you talk about that now. Impeccable timing by the way."
"I don't know I just felt like the burning town environment really fit better than a whole moon staring at the stars."
Taking the time to share a laugh at the situation we almost forget about the tragedy thats going on around us.
"Though I do think we need to wait to talk about that."
"Hmm?"
Turning to look where mara is looking reveals a group of armored people on horses riding down the main road. I would assume their just some local guards but their armor would say otherwise.
It's mainly silver or iron with gold outlines. Their armor shines way too much for it to be some cheap stuff. Their weapons also look scary the sword scabbard that there in looks like it would cost me a life saving to save up to.
I don't like this.
Im about to step in front of Mara but instead she holds out a hand blocking me. Her face looks too serious for me to intervene. So I take a step back.
Once the knight-looking people caught sight of us they all come to a stop not too far in front of us. Two of the knights get off their horses and approach us, the closer they get the more threatening Mara looks.
Once there only 10 feet away from us they take off their helmets. Reviling of course beautifully colored hair just like everyone else.
"It would seem we arrived just in time." One of them says.
Hah 'just in time.'
"Welp good for you guys. Now if you would excuse me and my friend here we innocent civilians were just evacuating." I say that but while trying to pull Mara she doesn't move.
The two knights both look at each other and… Laugh???
"We were just talking about how lucky we were to find the thing we came here for so fast. Shadow twin." The other one says.
"Huh?"
"Don't try and play dumb even without the mana you're giving off the black hair is all we need to see." The blue-haired one says.
I quickly reach up to my hood but as I feared touched my hair instead. I quickly put the hood on.
God dam it! When did that happen? Whatever apparently he would have been able to tell with the mana im giving off, like I know what that means. Does he mean my stats? He has appraisal?
Well if he's just going to use appraisal I guess I will too!
Strength 50 + 5
Speed 30 - 5
Defense 40 + 10
Intelligence 5
Huh? That's it? I don't know for a royal guard I was expecting a bit more, well, anything really. His stats are all trash! I mean I was going to check out the other guy but now I don't want to even bother.
"Mara we have no need to deal with these hooligans," I say as I gesture poshly with my hand.
As soon as I say that everyone looks at me questionably. Even Mara has stopped looking so anxious to wonder what the heck I was talking about.
Hah well too bad for them their little trick isn't going to work on me. Low stats with the combination of that rich-looking armor. Their inexperienced nobles without a doubt.
Or bandits posing as the royal gaud…
Or maybe there are substitutes for the real guard.
Well, all that matters is that they aren't going to be any trouble.
"I'm sorry boy but I don't think you understand. You're coming with us. You and your friend" The blond-haired one says.
"No. I don't think you understand that I'm not going anywhere." I say as I point my finger toward him.
Yes! I always wanted to say that!
