Getting to Know Your Battle Ground

The school is more like a castle with its build, or more like a college, than any regular high school. A huge garden after you enter through the big gates and the school is in a blocky 'c' shape with the garden in the middle.

Kiki also told me there's a training ground behind the school.

Kiki is the girl with blue hair, she's something alright. She's very hyper, which isn't a bad thing, but after 30 minutes of it, I feel like I'm dealing with a literal child! But, it's alright ren, you got this, just smile.

The structures are beautiful, I always have to appreciate good infrastructure, I always wanted to go into architecture. But there's always too much math involved so ill stick to admiring pretty buildings.

There are carvings on the walls, probably explaining some story or war, countries are always hung up on their wars.

The walls are made out of different pretty stones but on the inside it's painted with different cool colors, it's gorgeous.

"Ren? Akari?" she turns to us, oh right, I almost forgot that Akari was here with us, he's like a walking zombie, really reminds me of something.

I smile at her "Sorry, just zoned out a bit, all of this beautiful literature, y'know? He's listening as well, he's just like that." right, we were in the library.

Akari usually isn't like this but his girlfriend just died so I should give him a break, gotta carry the weight for both of us I guess.

She nods and continues to talk as we leave the library towards the east wing.

"Your accent is so unique!" she giggled. I stumble a bit in my walking pattern and a grimace forms on my face. That's such a weird thing to say, like gave me a chill, but I just smile and continue on. Has anyone taught this girl some manners? I hate these highschool girls.

The library is in the middle on the third floor so we head down the gorgeous stairs. "I'll be showing you to your dorms and after you settle in, the headmaster said to meet him down at the front office for your schedules!"

Our dorms, coincidentally, are dorm rooms 1 and 2, on the very first floor, closest to any powerful people. So they're going to treat us like pets? Akari takes dorm 1 while I take dorm 2. It's alright, I guess, a full-sized bed with a closet a desk, and some pre-packaged school supplies. There's a dining hall on the second floor so I guess that's where we'll be eating all our meals.

I glare at the bed, oh to just go to sleep now, what a joy that would be. I need some stress relief but of course, I have to do something else.

There's a door to the right of me so I step fully into my room to check it out. Turns out, it's a bathroom! Too bad there's not a shower and it's only a tub, but no matter, ill take this over a river any day!

I immediately check the water on the bathtub to see if they have hot water, they do!! The hot water feels heavenly against my skin and I can feel the oils in my hair crawling all over my scalp. Without thinking I take off my cloak and hang it on a hook.

But a hand is put on my shoulder, I freeze up and look back at the intruder with a glare. Its Akari? Then I remember why I couldn't sleep in the first place, the schedules, I groan and go to turn off the hot water.

I grab my cloak as well, I take one more glance at the draining water, I will be back soon my love. I don't even care if I'm being dramatic! It's a bath, I haven't taken a proper bath in so long!

Whatever, we leave my room and head straight. When you enter the building it's a nice plus lobby but at the back wall, there's the office.

So all we have to do is go straight and take a right, then we're there, pretty easy walk if you ask me.

We enter through, "Hello? Headmaster?" I call out. The lady in front of me smiles and starts talking. "You two must be the shadow twins, Ren and Akari?"

I nod and she continues. "His office is right to the left of me, he has been expecting you." I smile and nod my head in a mini bow. So I guess we're late? Or is that just how professional talk is? Whatever, the faster we get this over with the faster I can go back to that sweet bath.

I head through the door she pointed to and enter without knocking. It's the old guy from earlier. Who was waiting for us when we arrived, ok, don't have to meet anyone new then.

"Ah yes, Ren, Akari, come in come in, sit." he waves us in stopping some sort of writing.

Both me and Akari sit in the seats offered, and he hands us letters.

"These are your scheduled classes, the weeks will consist of either training or knowledge classes. While the weekends are taken as study days or training days." I open my letter and Akari does the same.

"You will notice your classes are the same with knowledge and training classes. Next semester you will be put into your permanent classes, but for now, these are your classes. I will ask Kikomi to show you to your classes tomorrow so that on Monday you can start classes immediately" Great, I can go back to my room permanently after this.

I do wonder why Kikomi introduced herself with her nickname and not her real name, not my problem tho.

"Any questions?" I look up from my schedule and shake my head.

"No, sir."

He smiles and continues. "Good, bedtime is at ten sharp, any later will result in reform. A copy of the rule book should be in your dorm, your uniforms should be there as well. That is all, you two are dismissed"

I stand and bow my head, a respect thing I've seen, and leave the room with Akari in tow.

Then we walk back to our dorms, entering our respective ones. I throw my cloak onto the floor and immediately head for the bath. I'm going to run the hot water system dry tonight!
