Two Killers One Night

"Huh?!?!" She screams.

At the same time, she throws a dagger right at me. Even though she threw it in an aggressive burst of emotion she has impeccable aim. I tilt my head to the left dodging the attack.

The knife hit the earth ramp behind me. It hits the spot where my head was just a second ago.

"Just in case you want to know. I saw it all when you were above my window. Odd for someone like you to be wearing something so cute"

"Shut it now!" She screams.

She also swiftly charges at me. As scary as this scene may be with her speed, her idiotic rage has gotten this girl into an easy opponent to face. She might be fast but when they go in a straight line it's not hard to think where they'll go next.

Before she gets into danger range I create an earth wall in front of me to stop her charge. Though I never hear her footsteps stop. Instead of slowing down, she has instead decided to climb over my wall and attack me from above.

With her in mid-air, it's not hard to cast air to not only stop her in her mid-air attack but completely reverse her movement. I watch her fly away but not without throwing two more daggers at me.

How many of these things does she have?

One misses me while I decide to grab the other. I drop the earth wall in front of me spinning her dagger with one finger. The enemy is able to land semi-graciously onto the ground.

What have I used so far? Earth and air? A few more then.

"What the hell was that?!" They ask.

Their cool outfit only gets more and more dirty as this fight goes on. How unkempt of them.

Twirling their dagger around my finger I increase its speed until it's a blur in my hand at which time I toss it into the air. When it comes back down I make sure to catch the spinning blade and use the momentum to throw it at the opponent.

Their attempt at a counter is ineffective. By the time they are already moving out of the way the dagger has already struck home. Well in this case right above her right shoulder ripping the clothing.

This seems to tick her off as once again she races toward me. She stays low to the ground racing the wind itself. It's not long until she is near me once more. Instead of trying to make space, I put two hands up readying myself.

I see an unnerving smile on her face as she sees I'm going to be fighting her head-on. She comes at me with two daggers one aimed for the heart and the other the head. I'm able to keep up with her movements.

Every time the daggers get a tad too close I make sure to redirect them or just move out of their way. After doing so it's easy to get a hit in. Every time she tries to hit me it in return makes an opening I can easily exploit.

It's possible if she was in a calmer state of mind she might not be widely trying to stab me. Human emotions have seemed to eradicate any chance for her to win this fight. It's her fault for caring too much what color her undergarments happened to be.

Though I had assumed her attacks would be wild, which they are, they also happened to be very precise. Every one of them happens to be aiming toward an important bodily function. As easy as it is to dodge her attacks it's important for me not to take a hit from her.

Every few missed stabs or so I'm able to get a hit on my own. She keeps attacking in her rage-filled state. I find myself as the fight goes on getting more confident throwing in a few more punches and charing less about focusing on defending.

It is then she is the one backing away only trying to slice me every now and then while I land blow after blow on her. It's not until I hit her 5 times in a row does she retreat backwards.

"What the hell are you?" She asks me.

"Ah you know I was just about to ask you the same thing. Who might you be? Who sent you? What is your true goal?"

Then again those are all things I could ask her but won't genuinely. Knowing her type I can only conclude there will be one answer.

The enemy gets into a stance and ready her blades. "I'm not telling you anything."

As I thought. However, that also means talking or any more play fighting will not lead to me being any more informed. Ahh, it seems this personal test must come to an end.

I do wonder how she would feel if I revealed the only reason she is still standing is because I am simply testing myself. Ah, no matter, she won't be alive for very long anyway.

I hold my right hand out in front of me. A ball of fire appears in the palm of my hand that soon changes and morphs its shape into a triangle-like shape. It spins in the air like a drill.

Even if she were to block the spell it would go right through it and its rotation would help with any drag increasing its speed. So she can't dodge, block or survive it.

The spell launched from my hand with enough force to create a non-noticeable amount of nock back in my body.

Even though the spell is impossible for someone like her to try and avoid. I still see her trying anyway. Well, it's more of an involuntary flinch than an actual try to dodge. All that useless motion was able to do was make her hood come down.

Once again it wrecks the appearance she has. It was such an interesting and mysterious design definitely something I would like to copy but now with it all torn it really looks sad and of course with the hood being down you can see her entire face ruining the-

The girl lets out a scream to the upcoming projectile…

But it never hits her. She opens her eyes to see a wall of water and hot mist before her. The now warm water falls harmlessly on top of her. The water drenches her but not before a warm wind dries her off.

Though her outfit is still ripped a bit she's no longer as dirty looking.

Who or what did this? Why? Well if you were looking from the side you might assume it was I who did so. In a visual context, it did look like I stopped the projectile with the water and then cleaned her with some warm breeze.

Yet I hadn't done any of that. Since I am a mere skill, that means if Akari wanted to he could take control back from his body. Yet with him being trapped in his own mind right now, I thought it was impossible for him to do anything.

Yet there it was just for a moment he decided to spare a hybrid that not a minute ago had tried to kill me. Well us.

It's possible this girl reminded him in some way of Mara. Though I can tell from her stats to even her appearance she is definitely not her. The one standing in front of me doesn't even have the right color hair or tail, it's white while Maras was more ginger if I recall correctly.

Well no matter, in fact, this is quite useful information.

"Who goes there!?" An unknown person asks.

This unknown person's question is paired with a few metal-sounding footsteps and the light of lanterns coming closer to us.

I looked around but it seems the hybrid had snuck back into the forest. Seems like she ran for it.

With so little time left until they are in view of me, I quickly activate teleportation, and just like that, I'm outside then I'm on my bed. The window to my room gets closed as well. I don't want unnecessary attention.

With that, my night ends…

Hmm? Is Kira still not here?
