The Yemen could not help but let out a pained scream, as its fingers were sliced and have now dropped to the ground. Blood gushed out from the new wound, drenching Kevin's face in the process. It jumped back, now shifting its murderous gaze from Angela to Kevin. It was more than angry, in a single battle, this brat managed to slice its arm in half, leaving it dangling as well as assaulting its fingers. The yeti's blood began to boil, if Kevin failed to kill it then high blood pressure was sure to do it for him.
"Angela, can you make another sword? But this time make two." Kevin said with his eyes twitching. His previous method failed, leaving him the only option of fighting with his full power. And as predicted, the pain he felt was very unpleasant making his eyes twitch.
"I am done! be careful...."Angela said handing him newly made ice swords before she noticed his eyes twitching."Are you all alright? If you cannot fight then I can-".
"Nah! I will be fine." Kevin reassured her, placing a sword in each hand. As mentioned before, he was not a dual swordsman or trained in the art of the sword. But spectating the sword's ability to piece through the yeti's thick skin, he wanted it all the same. After all, sword skills are not needed to kill someone or something.
'I need to end this, now!' Kevin thought, tightening his grip on his sword before running out.
"I will rip you to fucking shreds!" The Yemen shouted aloud, revealing an ugly expression as it encased its left fist with ice. Freezing the wound in the process.
Kevin did not stop running, instead, he ran faster, throwing the sword on his left mid-air. Now that his right hand was free, he stretched it towards the Yemen, widely opening his palms.
"Thunderbolt!" Kevin shouted, while still running towards it.
' A long-range attack?' The Yemen thought, raising its right arm against its face, protecting itself.
However, contrary to its expectations nothing happened. It did not feel any attack or anything for that matter, leading it to believe Kevin was simply bluffing. But as soon as it dropped its arm from its defense position, an ice sword was thrown into its left eye. Making it screech in pain.
'That always works. If its skin is too hard, I will go for other weaknesses.' he thought catching the spare blade that he threw earlier.
Gripping the ice handle tightly with his two hands, he continuously slashed the Yemen's chest area, drawing blood with every strike. Although its skin was hard, Kevin's strength, speed from lightning magic, and the sharp ice blade from Angela were more than enough to pierce its flesh.
"AAAAH" Kevin shouted, as he continued to hack away at its skin. Upon the twentieth slash, he decided to end the streak by embedding the last ice sword into the Yemen's abdomen before backing away. The yeti could not even react, due to the sheer pain being admitted to it by the eye stabbing which faintly touched its brain.
Blood began to ooze out from its body like a broken pipe. However, Kevin who was now feeling the after-effects of using his magic for too long, his head and his body began to ache.
"Ugh...Angela .." Kevin was inhaling rather fast as he was now exhausted. Wiping off blood from his forehead he continued talking." Make another pair of swords!"
Of course, the caring Angela seeing him push past his limits was about to refuse. He had done enough for the village. But just like the sparring match, she knew he was going to fight barehanded if need be. He was like a predator who never lets go of his prey.
Giving off a weak sigh, she complied" Here...but just be careful."
He gave a nod before glancing back at the Yemen. Saying that the Yeti was angry was an understatement. In this short battle, its arm was sliced in half looking like string cheese while some fingers were cut off on its other hand while missing an eye. Even if it won the fight, it would have to live the rest of its life looking like a joke....not knowing it already did.
Raising its left arm, ice blades began to form in the air similar to the move Norm performed. With a wave, they all came crashing down towards Kevin. Unlike Lilith, he could not evade everything, which would ultimately leave him injured.
"I got you," Angela shouted raising an ice wall, which blocked off the attack.
"Heh. Thanks a lot!"Kevin said, before running around the wall towards the beast.
He once again threw the sword towards the yeti's face. But this time, it was caught by the Yemen who shattered it with a squeeze.
"Not this time!"The Yemen said, still feeling pain from losing its eye and getting slashed continuously as well as a stab.
' I thought that would work.' he inwardly thought, hoping for a fast victory.
The Yemen threw a punch at Kevin who was now preparing for a stab, resulting in his last ice sword shattering. Regardless of his loss, he quickly moved in, forcefully pulling out the ice sword stuck in its abdomen, which caused a bit of blood to pour out. He then gently placed his palm on the wound.
"Did you know....that liquids are bad conductors of electricity? Kevin said, quoting words he once heard from the nurse.
The Yemen's eyes widened up as it quickly noticed what Kevin's intentions were. With a faint smile expressing wickedness, Kevin's hand was engulfed in lightning which was also violently shocking the beast.
Producing a thud sound, the yeti dropped to the floor creating a small pool of blood.
"Phew, it's done. Thank God, I did not faint this time." Kevin sighed in exhaustion. He now deactivated his magic.
"You did it. You were amazing." Angela praised Kevin while running to Gary to freeze his wounds. She was no medic, so this was what she could do for now.
"It is still alive though. I have to kill it now." Kevin said, taking the remaining ice sword.
Boom! Before he could deliver the final blow, a figure came flying in from a nearby building, creating a loud sound as a by-product.
"Lilith!" Kevin ran to her, noticing she was all beat up.
"You left looking all badass and shit. Now you return, looking like you had a check-up with Johnny sins." Kevin mocked. There was no better time to tease someone than when they are at death's door.
Step! Step! Step!
Loud footsteps could be heard as Norm walked toward them.
'She seems different.' Kevin thought. Every step she took left behind a frozen footprint.
Upon arriving, she glanced at the Yemen which was half dead. She ran over to check its vitals before looking at Kevin.
"You did this?" She spoke in an angry tone.
Kevin did not need an invitation to attack. Without wasting time, he activated his magic and ran towards Norm with the ice sword.
"Wait! Kevin the blade mel-"
He did not need to hear the end of the sentence, because as soon as he struck Norm his blade did not reach. Unknowingly to him, all the lightning coursing through the blade melted it.
"Pathetic!" Norm mocked.
Raising her arm, a cool gust of wind blew against him. Which completely froze him.
"Take the girl," Norm ordered a yeti which knocked Angela out unconscious, with a slap to the back of her head.
"Ang...e...la." Gary slowly muttered, being unable to do anything.
Her gaze then adjusted back to Kevin who was still stuck, forming an ice blade she was about to strike Kevin down before a voice entered her ears.
"I would prefer if you did not kill him." a male young voice resounded through her ears.
She looked at him, noticing he was not an Ampler. He had red wavy hair and wore a black mask covering his neck to mouth. Even though he was not a villager, Norm did not hesitate before dashing in.
"Burn!" the man said, raising only his index finger.
Norm's instincts suddenly kicked in, she raised five ice walls in an attempt to defend herself. Like a cannon, a thick black flame shot from his fingers destroying everything in the direction he was pointing.
"She is a fast runner, she escaped. Maybe she used a dimension traveler." the man sighed, turning his face to Kevin.
Luckily the attack did not kill any villagers, since that area was vacant.
'Escaped? What is there to escape from? Everything is destroyed' Kevin inwardly thought.
Suddenly a wave of fatigue washed over him, causing Kevin to collapse. The ice which encased him did nothing to prevent him from fainting. His eyes slowly closed looking at the figure with red hair before blacking out.
