Jane brought forth a gust of cold winds to show her authority. However, if it was for her family, Norm was never ever going admit defeat.
She stood firm, proceeding to move into an offensive stance. Knowing that at this point Norm was not going to give up she asked, " you are really going through with this?".
Norm stood still for a while before asking in return," I should rather be asking you that. Are you really going to let the whole race die?".
"As I said before, nothing can be done,".
" We can do something! We have so many villages that we have protected. After years of protecting they have done nothing but set up useless festivals. If they truly wanted to help they would become one of us to save our race!" Norm once again suggested.
"Your big plan is to force people against their will. That is no different than slavery, under my watch that will never happen," Jane said. Jane was rather unworried about her rebellious attitude. Every girl her age eventually goes into such a stage. As for Norm fighting her, she was even less worried, after all, she taught Norm. If push comes to shove, she would just slap sense into Norm.
Listening to Jane's response, Norm bit her lip in an attempt to suppress her anger. Not saying anything else, she charged towards Jane while forming an ice long sword. After years of training, Norm found a liking to the longsword. Despite her small stature, she was able to wield it quite easily and it compensated for her lack of strength.
"You already know because of my magical Imprint your deviant element's freezing prowess is useless against me, right?" Jane lectured.
Reaching her, Norm swang her blade downwards which destroyed the papers Jane was looking through.
"Ah crap, those will take forever to repair," Jane performed a backflip, completely dodging Norm's slash.
Norm closed the distance almost instantly, then repeatedly swang the sword at Jane. Increasing her grip strength, she downwardly slashed her sword.
Instead of moving down, the sword stood making no motion. With her bare hands, Jane held the sword in place and with a tight squeeze the whole blade shattered. Norm could only helplessly look at Jane as ice wrapped around her fist.
Pow! A single punch sent Norm flying through the door where most of the yetis stared at her, trying to comprehend what was happening.
"What is going on?" Tayn asked as he finally reached the castle. He was unable to keep up with Norm's speed which caused him to fall behind.
"A training session?" A Yemen responded while shrugging his shoulders. Norm and Jane have had many sparring matches so they took it as that. However, if anything it was weird as to why they were doing it in the castle.
"Norm I taught you almost everything you know. I know your moves from 'a' to 'z'. However, if you insist on fighting, I'll oblige!" Jane exclaimed as she slowly activated her magical imprint, the third form of ones magic.
[Magical Imprint: A world constructed by ice]
Slowly, ice formed around her body, morphing into a type of heavy armor. This was the very thing Norm tried to prevent be being aggressive. Jane's magical Imprint was unstoppable given the right conditions, she had the power to manipulate any object with a cold temperature . Therefore, Norm was placed into a major disadvantage, especially since the whole castle was made from ice.
"What do you hope to accomplish, Norm? This is the fate of the yeti race!" Jane exclaimed as she ran to Norm. Although, Norm did not have a third form like Jane, she was still not willing to give up.
Norm immediately erected an ice wall to prevent Jane from getting close. She planned to attack from long range, hopefully hitting Jane eventually. Seeing the wall, Jane threw out a kick cracking it slightly, she then wore a smile as she added three more kicked which completely shattered it.
"Take this!" Norm shouted as she launched icicles at Jane.
"Useless!" With a wave of her hand, all the icicles changed directions now coming towards Norm.
Norm tried to dodge but found her movements were hindered by an ice arm which appeared from the ground, holding her in place. As Jane had no intention of killing Norm, the icicles only pierced her legs.
"Aargh," Norm grunted in pain while still being held in place. She tried to break free but more ice hands came forth to hold her.
"Listen all of you! I'm sure you have figured it out, you are all dying, but the queen refuses to take action. Perhaps we cannot save you, but the race can live on if we make more Yemen. Please do not let the Yeti race die! Do you not want to live?" Norm shouted in an attempt to bring the yeti to her side. If she was going to try to save them, then they were going to first have to want to save themselves.
Hearing Norm talk, the Yemen all looked at themselves in thought.
"Of course they all want to live, but this is not the way,"Jane responded on their behalf.
Using all her strength, Norm broke free and once more, ran to Jane. She materialized an ice axe in one hand and a dagger in the other. Jane sighed in exhaustion as seeing Norm's futile attempts, as long as her magical Imprint was active nothing of cold nature could touch her.
To her suprise, Norm threw the weapons at her, not that it made a difference. Waving her hand, they easily melted but as soon as she did such, Norm formed ice spikes on the ground in which Jane simply moved back.
A shadow dawned on Jane as Norm threw out a kick from above which successfully landed but due to the heavy armor it barely did any damage. Afterwards, Norm immediately moved back as multiple ice shards came flying towards her.
"Crap!" she muttered as she formed an ice wall but due to Jane's actions ice was instantly shattered upon it's creation.
She then resulted in physically dodging all the icicles. Despite her effort, she was still got cut on multiple areas causing blood to ooze out.
Thinking the shower of projectiles were over, she did not expect Jane's punch which aimed for her solar plexus.
Norm fell to get knees as she began to vomit out her earlier meal.
"Give you Norm! We can try to find a way but this is not-" Jane's words were interrupted by a piercing feeling in her chest.
She slowly craned her neck to see who stabbed her, only to see one of her own people, a Yemen. She had been stabbed in an uncovered area with an ice katar.
"W-Wh...at are yo....u... doing?" Jane asked but her words were constantly stopped by blood coming from her throat.
"I became a Yemen to live, so I cannot follow a leader who does nothing about the extinction of her own race. If anything I shall at least continue my race's lineage,".
"Norm shall be the new queen!" Another Yemen yelled soon afterwards leading to shouts from others.
Roar! Even the normal yetis roared in approval.
Norm struggled to get up, but with the help of a yeti stood and said to Jane," Our race will continue to live, even at the cost of your loyal villagers,".
"Noo! You cannot," Jane shouted but her pleas fell on deaf ears as she fainted from blood loss.
"From now on, I will lead our people," Norm said as she walked towards the throne and sat on it.
Most yetis were in favor of this but those who were not kept silent as they had no choice. The majority had already decided.
"Quickly, inform the villagers of a change. Ever year a child shall be presented before us to become a Yemen," Norm commanded where as the Yemens obeyed.
For the yetis, this was the arrival of the new "Queen".
