Keiran stood by the counter with a glass of water on his hands. He wanted very much to go home and relax on his king sized bed.
It had been a tiring day and the more time that he spent at the party with the loud music thundering at his ears the more tired he felt.
It was a school party and as a member of the student body council, he was tasked with ensuring that nothing bad happened at the party. He was supervising a party he didn't even want to be at.
The other students seemed to be having fun at the dance floor, he watched them with lazy eyes that so no point in what they were doing. Moving aimlessly to loud music whose lyrics he could barely hear seemed stupid to him.
The so called popular of the school, we're gathered in their own group judging all that attended the party. They acted like they were better than everyone else and that just made him pity them.
But he pitied the others more, they all were obsessed with impressing the populars. They were willing to do whatever it takes to get the popular kids to like them. Not understanding that the only thing that made the populars special was the high way they were regarded.
Without the geeks and nerds around to give them importance and make feel like royalty, they all would be ordinary students that went to Bridgetown high.
The crowd cheers increased immensely. All the people were shouting only one name, a name that Keiran hated the most in the world.
Holden.
His name sounded in every corner of the dance hall or the gym that it actually was. All the girls and boys chanted his name as though a king had arrived. It wouldn't be entirely wrong.
He was the most popular boy in school, a total hottie with very refined features. He was the star football player, a well known golfer and a ladies man.
Technically he was a teen man was old enough to experiment on how the girl's tongues tastes like. That was the reason Keiran couldn't stand him.
He was seen him each week with his tongue down different girl's throat. And sadly their has never been a case where the girls fought for him. Something about a code that he makes with them before they start going out.
The playboy changed his girls faster that he changed his clothes. He practically had a girlfriend for all occasion.
"You don't have to glare at him like some angry villain," his friend Iris said. Meanwhile, the king of the school was making an epic entrance into the room.
"He is disgusting. I am surprised he hasn't caught a disease from how many girls he plays around with," Keiran noted.
"Forget him and tell me, why is the star student of the year four times in a raw and president of the student standing all alone at a party?"
Keiran stared at the group of people struggling to get Holden to notice them. The girls all wanted to date him and the boys hoped they could be buds. They believe that their high school life will change if they are friends with Holden.
"I am alone because everyone wants a piece of him," Keiran let out while using his nose to point in Holden's direction.
"Yeah, I wonder what magnet he uses to lure people to himself?" Iris questioned curiously.
Her curiosity only lasted a minute before they changed the topic. The noise dying down indicated that the commotion was over and Holden being at the party had become a little normal.
They made such a big deal out of holden when he was just an ordinary boy. Keiran did not get what they saw in Holden that was so special, if anything the boy was nothing but a pain.
They made small talk with each other for a while. The party went on, Keiran refilled his cup of water more than four times. It was the only thing he could drink since the punch had been laced with alcohol.
Iris left him to go and answer her phone, the hall was too long for her to hear the caller on the other end. Her leaving left Keiran with his eyes to the people in the room.
This was not his type of places, he would much rather have stayed home and watched cartoon or anime instead. This was a waste of time.
His eyes wondered the room until it reached the populars. He concentrated on the school's playboy who also happened to be looking his way.
Their eyes met, they both stared at each other. For some reason Holden didn't look away, he kept his gaze to Keiran which made him confused.
Holden never paid attention to anything or anyone less popular than he was. Which made Keiran question whether he was really starting at him or not. He looked to his back to find no one there, when he looked back up Holden was still staring at him.
He averted his gaze from the man and watched the dancers on the dance floor. It beat having a strange staring contest with the school's playboy.
The intense stare coming from his left side told him that Holden was still looking at him. Out of curiosity he turned around to check, the boy was holding his newest girlfriend in his arms. She was hugging while he was staring only at him.
'Why is he still looking at me?' Keiran asked in his mind.
Holden broke the hug, he stood facing Keiran while his girlfriend was facing him. He looked Keiran in the eyes before he locked lips with Scarlet.
Keiran gulped. He could see Holden's muscles flex as they grabbed hold of Scarlet while he intensified the kiss. All this without breaking eye contact with Keiran.
It was as though he was trying to pass a message to the boy but Keiran's mind couldn't absorb the message. Seeing as him staring was somewhat rude, he struggled to look away.
It was hard to remove his gaze from Holden, the playboy's eyes were really captivating. Just then the hall went quite, the queen of the school walked in through the door.
With her entry Keiran was able to look away from Holden. Emilia had walked in, in her mermaid pink dress, she strode into the room grabbing everyone's attention as she walked.
Not just because of her beauty but because of the boy she was with. Keiran locked eyes with Ty, the two stared at each other for a long time.
"Excuse me," Tyrone said to Emilia and left her side. Keiran froze, the only reasons popular paid attention to people like him was to bully them for fun.
He turned around and made his way out. "Hello, I am Ty," Tyrone introduced himself. He could smell Keiran's werewolf scene from the moment he stepped in the room.
Being new around he chose to make friends with the one werewolf that was his age. Someone he could be free to talk to whenever.
"Keiran," he introduced himself.
"Nice to meet you Kei..."
"Ty, lets go," Emilia pulled him away before he could complete his statement. Keiran followed Tyrone with his eyes until they reached Holden's group. His eyes met with a glare from the school's playboy. He gulped and ran off from there in a hurry.
