Anna... Strange Weakness

The night passed fast before Anna woke up. She wasn't naked but covered with her dress, the one she wore last night.

"Damn this headache!" Just as she tried to stand up, her body swayed as if she was drunk. Her head ached and she couldn't maintain her balance except by sheer will.

"How come I have such a hangover?" she couldn't believe this happened because of her transformation. She already did this countless times and she never felt like this for years.

The area around her was literally best described as a battleground. Many dead animals were thrown in pieces all over the place. Blood stained her exposed arms and face, making her realize she had quite a party last night.

"Was it from the red moon?" she thought about this while struggling to find her way back. She didn't have her heels or any shoes for now, only walking barefoot.

In previous times she would easily return to her palace without any problem. She used to be stronger and more collected than now. But she didn't have her purse where her cell phone was.

And she didn't even have any cash.

Wandering in the streets of the city with such blood would cause a scene. Luckily the pack installed a safe method to deal with such a thing.

Beside this wilderness there were a series of safe houses. Members of the pack lived there constantly and waited to help any new werewolf to adapt to his or her new powers.

"Sh*t! That won't pass easily I suppose," she cared about her public image more than anything else. After all, as an alpha she shouldn't behave like a weak pub or something.

But right now she could barely control her feet to walk towards the nearest house. "Sigh, I have no other option then," she squeezed her temple, trying to soothe the pain.

The events of last night were still fresh in her mind. She had many unanswered questions regarding that human. And now she had this weird weakness that she couldn't explain.

The path to the nearest safe house didn't take longer than half an hour. The more she walked, the better she felt. However when she reached there, she wasn't in her best condition.

But she could, at least, put her cold mask on and go directly there.

"Welcome to our safe house," a strong looking man came out from the inside while checking all around for any eyes preying on this place. "Oh wait... you are..."

Anna knew that the werewolf recognized her. And how he shouldn't? Her face was already well known even before she became an alpha.

"Let's talk inside," she said in a cold tone while moving her eyes right and left.

And that werewolf understood the hidden message. They shouldn't talk or act in a suspicious way outside the safe house. It was strange enough to have a beautiful lady like her covered in blood while dressed up in such a way.

As she entered the house, she met two other males inside. The two seemed to have a breakfast of cooked meat and they had beer to drink beside the dishes.

The house was built out of wood, with simple furniture and two levels. The moment she walked in, the two men in front of her were petrified before they hurriedly stood up and bowed to her.

And the one who led her here did the same.

"Alpha... we are honored to receive you today," the three said in unison while their tone seemed shaky out of fear.

"Humph, you look like having fun today," she went towards the food table before she noticed something for the first time.

Her senses... her sharp senses weren't working. She realized she didn't pick the scent of that werewolf or the two inside the house. Even the smell of food looked quite weak.

Despite having deep shock, she kept her cold face on as she sat on one of the seats and put one leg over the other.

"Call my butler, I'm not in the mood to walk to my palace for now," she said before picking a fork and selecting a stake on one plate. "This meal is mine now. Go, I want to see any of your faces."

The three bowed again before they silently ran outside. She saw one of them taking out his cellphone and started a short call.

"It's weird," she put the meat stake in her mouth. The taste of it seemed bitter like she was eating ash. "Then it started when I met him or what?"

She now had strange signs while she mistook this to happen before she transformed. She now had a perfect explanation for the puzzlement of her meeting with Ji Hoon.

However this explanation led her to another puzzlement. "I don't have my strength, feeling a severe hangover, and now I've lost my senses... This can't be all thanks to the red moon, right?"

Her mind kept working over this and the more she thought the more doubtful she became. She couldn't determine the real reason behind all this, but she was sure it had no relation to the red moon.

If so then the red moon would be considered a dangerous moment, something everyone would be alarmed from.

As she stayed inside the simple house, a group of cars appeared fast in front of it. She was already halfway through the meal before the butler entered with a strange look over his face.

"My alpha," he bowed while she could feel his hesitation to ask.

"Lead the way," she wasn't in the mood for any discussion with that butler. After all, whatever she would say would be told to the elders at once.

She didn't want to bring more trouble to her, not until she figured out the reason behind all this.

And the butler only bowed and refrained from asking anything.

After all he already was well aware of the reason that caused her to be like this.

Anna went in silence and cold facade towards her palace. She was welcomed with an army of maids who took care of blood remnants over her body and made her look crystal clean in no time.

"Do you want to have some rest?" The butler welcomed her downstairs when she wore a black long and tight dress with sparkling fine crystals all over it.

It wasn't a secret that the current alpha adored anything sparking, either in ornaments or in dresses.

"No need for that," she took a soft silk black scarf and covered her slightly bare shoulders with this long-sleeved dress. "What happened last night?" she asked while walking outside.

The butler knew she was asking about that human. "We used some of the best enforcers and yet..." he paused as the result he received already enraged Jeremy.

"What?" Anna stopped at the opened door of her palace while giving the butler a really cold gaze. She was much better than before and her former strength kept returning back.

And her senses were now as sharp as before to realize something was wrong.

"Ahem," the butler cleared his throat before saying, "they couldn't find a scent of that human anywhere in the hotel."

"Oh," Anna raised one eyebrow before she put on her sunglasses and started to walk towards her car. "Did you use our famous enforcers or a few useless omegas?" she said in a sarcastic tone and the butler could only swallow her words without replying.

He already took a cold shower of anger from Jeremy. The butler couldn't understand what was going on. He personally went to check the site at dawn when he received this weird news.

And yet he couldn't find anything at all!

Anna rode her car while the butler rode in the front seat. The two kept their silence while her mind was roaring out in anger and frustration.

She already reached a conclusion about what happened with that human. Her inability to smell anything from that human was already explained by her loss of senses after waking up.

But now... She just heard this disturbing news. 'What the hell is wrong? Does that red moon cause these effects on me? On others?' she couldn't believe it but it was already too late to go and check again.

The scent would be long gone by now in such coldness. "I want to read the old records on the red moon," she finally spoke after a long silence of half an hour.

"Sure, I will prepare them once they arrive at the corp," the butler obediently replied and that attitude of his didn't fool Anna.

She knew he was a deadly wolf playing dirty on all sides. In front of her he was the loyal butler, and in front of the elders he was their dog.

And yet she couldn't risk getting rid of him for now. She knew that would enrage the elders, besides...

'It's not a bad thing to know the dog in the pack,' she said to herself while preferring to have an exposed dog rather than a hidden one.
