Just a Bit of ‘Fun’

Three months in to the last day of Zack's life, he was getting bored. The zombies were hard to escape, the people never seemed to change, and there was no point to following the rules of society anymore.

So, Zack ditched classes, and gave up his escape plans for the moment. Nothing was working, and he needed a change of pace.

On a whim, he walked to the nearest shopping centre. It was a large, complex building full of clothes, books, shoes and practically everything else you could think of. The prices were decent too.

First, Zack found a hardware store, and bought a reel of barbed wire (these shops really DO carry everything). Next, Zack went to a sports shop and bought a better bat for later. Then, he grabbed some trendy new clothes, and finished up by hitting up a music store, where he bought a high quality sound system and plenty of tunes.

Then, Zack found a quiet place to set himself up, where no one was likely to find him. Barbed wire + bat = weapon for tonight. Trendy clothes + tunes = wannabe hipster. Hipster + weapon = tonight's fun role play.

Zack wasn't strong enough to kill the zombies, but he could pretend for a while before his painful death. And, hey, he used 'afterpay' to buy this stuff, so it didn't actually matter anyway.

Hours passed, and just as R.E.M 'Imitations of Life' started playing, the rain started falling, and the world ended once again. The only way it could have gone better, in Zack's opinion, was if 'Forever Young' by Youth Group was playing, or 'It's The End of The World As We Know It' by R.E.M. Just a cute bit of irony to end the night with.
