Theo lifted the blade up in front of his face and carefully inspected it. The wavy jet-black patterns covering the silver surface made it look more like a piece of art rather than a weapon. It was no less ornate than the rapier Theo destroyed from Cole's hands.

"Real Damascus steel, huh?" Theo said.

"One of a kind."

Theo put the blade down and looked at Adelyn.

"Again, are you sure about this?" Theo asked.

Adelyn nodded.

"Yes. You are the blacksmith's friend. I am sure he won't mind me giving his work to you."

"But what about you?"

Adelyn sighed.

"Theodore, you don't need to keep asking me. You are probably going to get even better weapons after you join the order, anyways."

"I will never trade this with any other weapon, no matter how much better they are," Theo said.

A smile spread across Adelyn's face, and tears began once again gathering up in her eyes.

"Thank you," she said softly.
