Marshadow refocused back on the broken stone road he was walking on. He looked up at the castle in front of him with an array of different emotions coursing through his mind. Sandness for the fate that befell his species and an even deeper sadness at his brother's hard journey. He didn't understand how he knew all this since he should have been asleep. But maybe it was his older brother giving him the memories he missed out on. But the little details didn't matter anymore.
He felt rage towards Arceus, so much rage that he felt like he would explode. Rage towards the unfairness, the lack of care, lack of well, everything.
He marched forward towards the castle with a new goal. To meet his brother again after so long. To talk to him, to embrace him in a hug. To talk. He wanted to do all that, but then the image of a black greninja and a black mega Gengar appeared from different paths. They all looked at each other warily as they stood in front of the main castle gates.
The older brother was holding this contest every year in the event that Marshadow would return. Since It was something that attracted ghost Pokémon from all over the world, he was sure that his little brother would return.
{This is the final stand. Defeat your opponents and walk through the castle gates victorious. Or lay there as dead carcasses. It is all dependent on your ability or lack thereof. Let the final match begin!} the voice boomed out.
Greninja and Gengar nodded at each other as if coming to a tactic agreement. Marshadow wasn't surprised, the weak had to group up together to stand a chance against the strong.
Marshadow got into a defensive position, his legs apart, one arm in front the other behind.
"Come! And meet your doom!" he announced.
Greninja flashed forward and appeared before Marshadow in the blink of any eye and smashed down his oversized shuriken down on him. Marshadow grinned slightly and stepped to the side as the weapon skimmed past him and into the floor.
Marshadow jumped up slightly and shot out a leg that blasted the frog outwards at fast speed. Gengar didn't stay still and sent out a growing shadow that threatened to swallow Marshadow whole.
The latter shot into the air before spreading his arms open.
"This is a little trick I finally mastered after a lot of effort. It's your honour to be the first to get hit by it. BLAST CANNON!" he yelled.
BOOOOOOOM!
A massive blue flame burst out from Marshadow's left side, and a massive wave of cold air and ice exploded out from his right. His arms slowly came together.
"The verdict is out, your sentence… death!"
BOOM!
The wave of immensely pressurised air shot forward and breakneck speed destroying everything and anything in its path.
(Shuriken o fukumu subete!) Greninja shouted from the rubble of a building. Instantly, he appeared in front of Gengar and spun his shuriken in place. It created a torrent of air as it spun faster and faster until it became a solid shield.
The shuriken have off a white light as it collided with Marshadow's attack. a massive bubble burst out decimating everything in a 500-meter radius.
Marshadow didn't hesitate to swoop down headfirst and strike with a full power shadow punch.
Greninja had just finished tanking blast cannon and couldn't defend in time. Gengar flashed in front of his temporary teammate and used protect. Marshadow grinned and used shadow barrage. Instantly, hundreds of fist images covered Gengar's vision.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Punch after punch, kick after kick, Gengar was knocked back from the power. Marshadow had long stopped punching, but Gengar kept getting pushed back by the seemingly invisible punches.
Greninja had recovered and shot forward like a bullet.
"Mano a mano huh? I like it!" Marshadow yelled and slammed his hands into the ground while getting into a sprinters ready position. His green flames burst out instantly creating the head of a green dragon.
CRACK! RUMBLE! BAM BOOM!
The ground couldn't handle the surge of energy and began to give way. like a cannonball shot out of a cannon, Marshadow disappeared from place and collided with Greninja who had created a massive blood-red shuriken.
(Chi o musaboru shuriken!) Greninja yelled.
the collision, unlike other's, didn't cause noise, or maybe it was the opposite, due to the massive impact, it had deafened everyone in the vicinity. there was only a flash of red and green before both parties were separated.
Greninja was heavily injured and so was Gengar. but Marshadow, he stood there waiting for their final attack. He knew as well as them that it was their last attempt. They didn't have anything more to give after this.
Greninja and Gengar looked at each other before nodding. Gengar seemingly swallowed Greninja and began to grow in size, it continued to grow until it reached 7 meters tall. Gengar then took the shape of Greninja as the pair of merciless red eyes surfaced once more.
A muscly black-purple Greninja appeared, three massive shurikens spinning around him slowly. Marshadow didn't seem fazed.
"Your loss is inevitable. I am… inevitable. Sword of judgment!"
SHIIIIIIING!
An incredibly piercing sound echoed through the space as Marshadow manifested a sword out of aura. A katana to be exact. He got into a Sha No Kamae stance and leaned forward sharply and instantly, a raging blue fire ignited on the blade surging into the sky like a rocket engine during blast off.
Greninja and Gengar sense the danger and raised their left hand. quickly, the three shurikens shot into the air and fused together to create an oversized shuriken that radiated ferocity and doom.
[(the final strike! Blood moon strike!)] Gengar and Greninja yelled together.
Time seemed to freeze as the two attacks collided, but a fascinating yet dreadful scene appeared in front of the pair. their attack seemed to faze through their opponent. as if he was a dream all along. All they saw was a golden light covering their vision before their thoughts froze, forever umoving.
All that was heard was a thunderclap before the head of Greninja fell to the floor. Gengar's dead body split apart from Greninja before falling limply to the ground. Marshadow appeared behind them, looking down solemnly.
