Chapter eighteen 018: A BAD DAY

Today was like every other day Adria dressed up for work said goodbye to her mom and her sister drove her to work.
She arrived at the office where she met Asachi working on some document.
"What going on I thought we were done with all the documents that was needed." Adria asked.
"Umm yh but mr Lu wants to make an announcement so he told me to work on this before he gives the announcement." Asachi said not sparing her a glance.
Adria already had an idea of what the announcement would be "Alright you want help." She asked as she approached him.
"No." he said as he tried to avoid her, standing up to leave but Adria didn't let him
Adria smiled sheepishly and began to make trouble "why can't you look at me huh huh." she said as she blocked his way they had gotten really close these past few weeks so they were already used to annoying each other on some occasions.
"Stay away!. Don't you get it I want to be alone." He said in a harsh tone this time avoiding eye contact as he walked out.
Adria was shocked by his outburst, watching him leave. She found this attitude irritating "what's wrong with him." She thought to herself.
she decided to give him space, she got all activity assigned to her for today from mr lu himself, she debriefed some projects along side her college, she was really busy today she attended some meetings with mr lu and also sorted out few documents.
When Asachi was done with his work he walked towards the Technical sector and saw Adria there concentrating on what she was being thought, he stared at her for a while and when she looked towards him he hid himself, feeling guilty he left the place.
Finally it was almost the end of today's work, everyone was called as mr Lu wanted to make an announcement. Berlina stood a bit close to him but she was leaning against the wall arm crossed and legs as well.
"Good day everyone, I'll like to pass an information today. The event which we have been planing for a while now will have to be prosponed as an important person or vip as you all might call them will be visiting Japan his arrival will be the center of attention for a while as they would be hosting a welcoming party for him due to this we have to shift ours to ensure we achieve our targeted guests I know this might not seat well with most of us but look on the bright side we will be inviting him to our celebration but if it clash then surely a lot of people will go to his own celebration and not ours so when his done with his party then we could prepare ours." Mr lu said as he placed his hands on the table staring down at the unpleasant faces.
The workers began to murmur in displeasure they had worked their ass all week to ensure they meet the deadline and now this is what they get.
"I'm really sorry for the discomfort and we promise to reward you all for your hard work thank you." he said as he left
"Let's go home pumpkin." Berlina walked down to Adria and grabbed her by the shoulder.
"Let me go I'm not a kid." she said struggling to get free from Berlina.
Berlina chuckled softly "why should I?."
"let me get my things from my office at least." Adria said, Berlina let her do she dashed to her office she grabbed her things swiftly and when she turned to leave she bumped into Asachi.
"Sorry." she said not waiting for his reply she left.
Asachi watched her leave while battling with his inner man.
Adria got to the car she was a bit pissed, arriving there she didn't see Berlina she stood there waiting in anger, after a while Berlina came with a smirk on her face.
"Why do you have your evil smirk on huh I hope you didn't hurt anyone." Adria said.
"Lol hurt? Me? No that's your thing not mine ok." Berlina said
"Then where did you go?." Adria asked as she looked around.
"I went to see a friend." Berlina said with a smile.
"Berlina!." Adria said as she lost her patience.
"Ok ok fine. I went to meet the worker who almost ran you over." Berlina smiled leisurely as she opened the car and they both entered.
"Ok." Adria said not looking too good
"What's up with you." Berlina said as she started her car.
"Nothing much just mood swings." Adria said simply.
"Is it that time of the month huh." Berlina said.
"Eww no." Adria said as she faced the window.
Berlina kept quiet as she drove, after a while of quietness she spoke "Are you aware that Japanese guy you work with what his name um....Asachi right?."
"Hmm. what happened to him." Adria said as she felt a bit pissed.
"Nothing actually."Berlina said as she sensed her displeasure.
"Ok." Adria said.
"He likes you." Berlina said abruptly.
"Why would you say that." Adria paused for a while before she asked.
"Well he kept looking at you at the announcement today and I've been seeing him being all lovey dovey he likes you." Berlina smiles.
Adria looked at her eyes wide open "oh does he is that why he's acting all mean and annoying." she said as she choose not to believe.
"What you think." Berlina asked.
"I don't know." Adria said and faced out the window again.
Berlina didn't stress the issue as she drove home she would be leaving tomorrow so she had a lot on her mind.
They arrived at home and they both saw all mom's and Berlina's things packed and being moved to the car.
"What's going on mom I thought you guys said you'll leave tomorrow." Adria said as she stepped out of the car feeling confused.
"Yes I know my dear but Berlina has to be at an important gala early tomorrow morning." Madria said calmly as she touched Adria's hair.
"But mom it could wait." Berlina said.
Adria looked sad as she stood quietly watching them as madria drew Berlina close to her as they conversed.
"Mom we would leave tomorrow and I'll make up for the delay." Berlina said as she spared Adria a look. Madria went close to her and whispered into her ears "your dad just got hospitalized."
Berlina stiffened "we leave tonight." she finally said as she went to freshen up.
Adria went in and freshened up, she called haru and made arrangement for them it seems something was really wrong so she wanted to help, she booked their flights and prepared essentials for them when she was done she informed her mom and Sis.
Later that night Adria drove them to the airport.
"Take care of yourself and don't worry we'll come by again I love you." Berlina assured.
Adria tried to comport herself as she nodded.
Berlina embraced her as she planted kisses all over Adria's face.
Madria hugged Adria and said "Be strong my love." As she and Berlina turned to leave.
"Alright bye." Adria waved.
Berlina and madria embarked on their journey.
"She's becoming stronger." Madria stated.
"Trust me she was trying to hold her self cause we were there she's already crying right now." Berlina said knowingly.
Adria walked back to her car slowly, sobbing silently as she stared back at the place she saw them before immediately a car passed her with full force pushing her to the ground in the process she fell into a muddy pool of water
"Shit." she screamed.
The people in the car which just hit Adria "wow did we just hit someone." The guy driving said
The other guy looked through the car window "she is alright."
"Should we he-." The driver panicked
"Move we got to get to the airport before the boss arrives else we will be dead now drive." He ordered
They drove off.
"Annoying Asians ughhhh!." Adria wanted to die she couldn't get into her car like this she went back into the airport people were staring at her and some where laughing she went to the restroom and washed her self as she took off the cloth and wore a new one she was about to leave when she heard a guy talking from the next restroom
"The young billionaire will soon arrive boss, I promise he won't get away this time." A voice sounded from the other side after much conversation the same voice said "I'll call you when the job is done."
Adria didn't know who the dude was or who he was talking about but she feels bad for who ever it was tho.
She came out of the bathroom and headed out of the airport walking towards her car she realized someone was trailing behind her she slowly turned her head as she saw the shadow of the person who got closer immediately the person held her shoulders she flipped him, hitting him against the floor she punched him on the floor as she was about to kick him he yelled "stop!! Stop." he yield in pain
Adria immediately recognized the voice "Asachi what are you doing here."
He held his face "I followed you here. Jeez where did you learn all this skills." He asked feeling pains all over.
"Oh sorry I thought you were a thug or something." Adria said as she began to walk to her car.
"Wait hold on." Asachi ran towards her "I know your angry about today at the office I'm really sorry I....I." He panicked
"I'm not angry and you don't need to apologize." she said as she opened her car he held her hands stopping her from entering the car.
"I'm really sorry Adria I didn't know how to come clean with you but after great concedration I decided to." Asachi trailed off.
"Please Asachi I'm not in the right mood." Adria interrupts him trying to avoid what was coming next as she already had a bad day.
"I love you Adria." Asachi said immediately as he stared at her.
Adria scoffed as she laughed mockingly "Are you dumb so that's the reason you ignored me huh that's why you made me look like a fool or no maybe that's why you made me look like a coward."
Asachi was stunned by her outburst "I....I...I'm sorry." he said.
"If you could do all those things to me Asachi if you could watch me feel pain that YOU inflicted then you don't love me so state your words right you were infatuated and that's it." Adria said slap her hand off his.
"No I." Asachi felt really bad about his previous attitude.
Adria got into her car and turned to him "I'm trouble and being with me can lead you to your grave." she said as she drove off.
Asachi stood there staring at the car that just move as he thought to himself 'is this what heartbreak feels like is this how she felt when she lost her ex why does it hurt so much' suddenly he felt something on his face he touched his face and stared at his hand he was crying why was he crying is he giving up no he can't he cleaned his eyes and drove off to Adria's house getting there he was told she wasn't home yet he texted her but she didn't reply he stayed there for a while and eventually slept off.
Adria texted haru telling him to send her the address of her house the one Berlina purchase she had been crying so her voice wasn't really good.
"Are you ok ma'am did anything happen." Haru asked worriedly.
"No no I'm fine I'm just trying to clear my head this week has been really hard on me." Adria said honestly.
"Where are you ma'am I'm coming to pick you." Haru said as he wasn't happy with the way she sounded.
"No don't just send me the address." Adria replied, she needed to be alone.
"That's a new area you won't know the way to that place." he said so she would accept.
She did eventually and he accompanied her to the place.
When Adria arrived she looked around the house she felt so much love it was a big house that was at the hill she could see the city from there the air there was really refreshing.
Adria closed her eyes as she stood there trying to breathe the cool fresh air. After some time she went into the house she saw the sitting room was really big and they were most of her drawings hanged on the wall she smiled "Berlina." She said as she trailed her hands on the drawing
"Ma'am that's your drawing right." Haru asked knowingly.
"Hm." Adria replied.
"It looks really nice. At the top there's a room just for your drawing." Haru informed.
"Really?." Adria asked.
"Yes." Haru confirmed his statement.
"That's really nice." she said as she sat down and rested her head on the chair.
"Are you ok ma'am?." Haru asked.
"I just have a lot to deal with and I don't even have the chance to breathe." Adria said sadly.
"Do you mind sharing your thoughts with me?." He asked.
Adria stared at him for a while before she began to narrate everything.
"Well probably they didn't succeed killing anyone you know." Haru said as she told him about the event in the airport.
"Hm I hope so." Adria said feeling bad she did nothing to help.
"And as for Asachi, he's a cool guy but I'm not sure he is certain about himself yet he would get the message sooner or later." Haru smiled gently.
"But he's still my friend and now he would want to keep his distance." Adria said with pain. Asachi was her friend, her only friend apart from Yan Chen.
"If he lets a minor infatuation come between you Both friendship then his a fool." Haru stated .
Adria and haru had a great conversation that night and she went to bed there.
In the morning they headed back home, when she arrived she saw Asachi sleeping in the couch she stared at him with a mild expression Yan Chen walked in and saw Adria staring at Asachi she began to explain how he was really patient last night.
Adria approached him and tapped him gently "wake up." She said softly.
"Hm." he said as he stretched.
"Wake up Asachi it's morning." She called out to him.
Immediately he heard her voice he jumped "Adria ar....are you ok." He asked worriedly as he sat up.
"Hm I am, come on stand up and freshen up we got a job to attend." She said as she headed up stairs.
They both freshened up and left for work together on there way there Asachi apologized.
The drive to work was really quiet and Adria didn't even spare him a glance.
"I'm really sorry about yesterday I really rushed things and hurt you in the process." He said bending his head in shame.
"Hmm." Adria replied as she fixed her eyes on the road.
"I hope we could still be friends and see where the future leads." He
"It's fine Asachi I already forgave you before you asked." She said.
"Thanks a lot Adria you are really a great person."Asachi said.
They went to work and spoke to each other in a formal way but as time went on they got back to how they used to be.
