A Day at Sea

*"Sentences like this mean another language being spoken*"

Raymonde wakes to a weight on his stomach, he looks down to see Lildöris sleeping. He quickly gazes across the room he was in to see Katrina sitting across from the bed he was in, dead asleep.

He sits up in an attempt to not wake Lildöris, he slides her head from his stomach to the bed, he swings his legs from the bed and places them on the cold hardwood floor. He removes the bedsheets to reveal he is wearing nothing but his undergarments. As he stands his vision becomes distorted, his legs wobble underneath him, they give way as he falls to the ground.

Katrina wakes to the sound of something large hitting the ground, she looks at the bed to see that Raymonde had left, she stands to see him on the ground, "What are you doing?" She asks as she rushes to his aid, "What did I tell you? You have to stay down here until you've regained full composure."

"I know what you said, and I have chosen to ignore it. And besides Lil is currently asleep and I don't want to wake her just yet." He says while leaning on Katrina to regain some balance, "Besides what did I say about staying down here?"

"That I shouldn't expect you to stay down here," she says while staying by his side as he leaves the room, "but I do wish that you would've stayed down here a little while longer."

"You keep saying down here? What exactly do you mean?" Raymonde asks.

"Go upstairs and you'll find out."

Raymonde reaches the top of the stairs, with some struggle and help from Katrina, he walks to the railing and sees that they have set sail.

"What are we doing on a boat? Where are we going?" Raymonde looks back at Katrina.

"Well to begin with you have been on that bed for the past day and a half," she says while gesturing towards the helm, "she is the one who instructed that we leave."

He begins to walk towards the elevated stern of the ship, "Why have we left?" he shouts at Llorva as he sees the stair and decides not to traverse them, "I thought we were going to leave while I was conscious?"

"Well, it has recently come to my attention that I have made a mistake in telling people you are alive, and in my defence, Katrina is the one who wanted to leave Kram as quickly as possible."

Raymonde looks behind towards Katrina, she shrugs, "So you made the decision based on what? Me being in danger of Kram?" He says staring a hole through her.

"A bit of both."

As soon as the words left her mouth Raymonde had turned on his heel, his head spinning as he does so, and heads below deck.

----

Katrina met with Raymonde in his room, she enters to see him sitting on the bed with Lildöris in his arms, he looks fatherly.

He notices her presence, "She felt lonely down here all by herself, so I was comforting her." He says while stroking the back of her head, Lildöris nuzzles in further.

"So," Katrina begins, scratching at the back of her neck, *"what are your plans for the girl."* She says in the Elven tongue.

*"Like I said when I had first found her,"* he responds in the same tongue, *"she is going to be my daughter, I can't possibly let her go back home. Can I?"*

*"No."* she replies now looking at the ground, *"But have you considered the consequences if you do keep her as your daughter?"*

"I have considered the consequences, and I don't care what they do, all I care about is keeping her and everything important to me, safe." He responds holding Lildöris a little closer, "And you are also one of those people." He looks up at Katrina, her face reddens.

"So I take it that you have accepted the fact that we are married?" Katrina says while sitting on the bed next to him, "So is that the case?"

"I guess you could say that." He looks sidelong at Katrina, he leans over and kisses her, "Thought we should seal the marriage with a kiss. After all, Elvin traditions are different from Human ones, and this is one of the biggest of them all." He kisses her again, "I guess you could say we are a family now."

"Yeah, I guess so." Katrina says her face still red, "But, there is something I do want to tell you." She turns to face him, "It's about Llorva, I think you upset her the last time you had interacted."

"What? How could I have made her upset?" He says raising a brow, "What did I say that could have possibly made her upset?"

"It isn't what you said, rather than what you didn't say." Katrina stands from the bed and kneels in front of Raymonde, "Please go and apologize to her."

*"What? Why do I have to apologize for something that wasn't said?"* Raymonde now speaking in Elvish, *"It just doesn't make sense."*

*"If I told you, you would be more at a loss than you are now."* Katrina replies, *"Why are we speaking in Elvish again?"*

*"So Lildöris doesn't overhear what we are saying."* Raymonde says, looking down at Lildöris, she looks up and smiles. Lildöris is released from Raymonde's grip and walks out of the room, and heads to the deck, *"In any case, I will apologize if that will make you happy."*

Before Katrina could respond a scream sounds from the deck, Raymonde and Kartina rush to the deck to see another ship beside theirs.

----

As Raymonde and Katrina had ascended the stairs, they saw three large, burly humanoid figures, if you had seen them from behind they could be mistaken for professional bodybuilders. The one thing that had set them apart from Humans was the protruding canines sticking out of their mouths.

Orcs.

They were Orcs.

Two of the Orcs had surrounded Llorva, completely overwhelming her, and the other one had made the biggest mistake of their miserable lives, they had a hold of Lildöris. In the instant, he saw Lildöris struggling to get out of the Orcs grip, he had pulled one of his daggers from his belt and threw it towards the Orc, it hit the skin and bounced off.

As the Orc watched the dagger clatter across the floor, it locked eyes with Raymonde. Raymonde than looked at it with equal bloodlust, the Orc began to tremble.

As the Orc hesitated Raymonde had rushed in and took Lildöris from its grasp, he backed up several feet and places Lildöris down next to the stairs to the stern, he looks at the Orc, his eyes a blood red, every step he takes the boat aggressively rocks.

As he reached the Orc that had a hold of Lildöris, everyone on the boat had lost their balance and fell to the ground, Raymonde holds out his hand as a sword materializes, he holds the sword towards the Orc and pierces it through the skull, locking it in place before the sword vanishes.

As Raymonde had killed the Orc he looked back towards Katrina and smiles, he collapses. Katrina gets up from where she had fallen and attempted to rush to him, she was stopped in her tracks as she looked down to see blood running down her front.

She looks behind her to see an Orc holding a battle-axe like a bat, blood was on the edge of one of the blades, she grabs at her stomach and pulls her hand away.

Blood coated her hand, she grabbed one of the daggers from her belt, and in a last-ditch effort she tosses the dagger towards the Orc and collapses. The dagger flew striking the Orc in the neck, deep enough to stick in but not enough to be fatal.

Llorva look around her in horror as Katrina and Raymonde were both unconscious, 'Shit.' She thought as her eyes became a blinding white light, "You are going to pay for that!" She screams.

The two remaining Orcs approach her with sinister smiles and lust in their eyes. They both raise their axes and swing them towards Llorva's head.

The sound of steel met flesh as blood was sprayed everywhere, the Orcs sinister smiles widen before they fade. The top half of their bodies slide off their lower half before their legs hit the ground.

Llorva, who is now covered in blood, sheaths her sword and rushes over to Katrina, white light begins to glow from her hands and the wound in Katina's stomach begun to stitch back together.

The bleeding stopped before she looked over to where Raymonde was laying on the ground, Lildöris is with him with her hands over her head with golden light shooting from her fingers into his head, blood leaks from his eyes before her shoots up.

Raymonde takes a few seconds to look around before seeing Katrina lying in a pool of blood, her blood. His face reddens in anger as he stands and walk over to her, picking her up from the ground and begun to walk down below deck.

----

Raymonde reaches the room he woke in and places her on the bed, he sits on the bed holding her hand, Lildöris walks in and sits next to Raymonde, she wraps her arms around him, he places an arm around her shoulder.

'Katrina, I hope to the Gods' that you are okay… I love you.' He inwardly says as Katrina begins to shift in the bed, "Katrina?" he says quietly, loud enough for her to hear, "Katrina, are you alright?"

"Raymonde," she groans, "are you there?"

"Yes, yes I'm here." He says while gripping her hand tighter, "You alright?"

"Does it look like I am okay?" She barks, wincing at the pain raising her voice caused, "The real question is are you okay?"

"I don't quite understand what you mean?" Raymonde says with a look of confusion lingering on his face.

"I know. Raymonde." She utters, the confusion turns to worry, but before he could voice an explanation Katrina leans in and kisses him.

As their lips met, all the worry and confusion had left his mind as all he could think about was how soft they were against his, he grips her face in his hands.

"I love you, Katrina Deathsworn. With all my might I will not stop loving you." He finally voices after a few minutes, "Even the Gods wouldn't be able to separate me from you."

"I love you too, Raymonde Hawkstride," she winces, Raymonde pulls back as sorrow fills his face, "It wasn't you; it was the pain."

"What about me?" A voice sound from beside them, "Do you love me?" They look over to see Lildöris, her eyes begun to water.

"Yes sweetheart, we love you too." Raymonde says, he places a hand on her head as the smile that followed lit up the entire room, Katrina, and Raymonde smile.

----

"Raise the sail!" Llorva orders a man on the deck.

"Raising the sail." He replies.

Llorva sees Raymonde cresting over the stairs and rolls her eyes, "What do you want?" She asks as she turns the wheel, the boat now heading due north.

"I need a favor," he answers, "it is Katrina, she isn't feeling too great, and I wanted to ask if you would help her?" He kicks one of the ropes that are laid on the ground.

"What will I get out of it?" She asks as she steps down from the helm and begins walking towards Raymonde staring a hole through him.

"You will have to ask Katrina what you will get out of it," he answers averting her gaze, "she is the one that will have to repay you not me." He turns on his heel and begins to retreat down the stairs.

She follows.

----

Llorva enters the room to see Raymonde sitting on the bed, holding Katrina's hand, Lildoris is sleeping in a chair in the corner of the room. She is curled up in a ball of the chair with a blanket covering her.

"You came," Raymonde says sarcastically, "Can you help her?"

"Yes, I will help her, but I want to be part of the family." She responds, "Whatever you two discuss, like getting back alive and all that important stuff, I would also like to know."

"Done." Katrina replies in a heartbeat, "Now can you help me?"

Llorva walks up next to the bed and holds her hands above where the giant lash across Katrina's chest is, her hands begin glowing the celestial white as they did earlier.

As the wounds begin to close Katrina's eyes start to glow bright blue, the room lights up full of blue light, every crevasse of the room filled with this unnatural light, Llorva pulls away as the wound closes completely.

"What in the Gods' names was that?" Llorva says her voice beginning to tremble with fear, "That has never happened before."

"Can you keep a secret?" He asks Llorva not looking at her to confirm an answer, "I don't think that was you. This has happened before, only once. When we were children, we were playing tag in the yard, and she took an unfortunate tumble." He pauses for a few moments, looking at Katrina, tightening his grip on her hand, "Then the same blue light that came out of her now… happened then too. Our families were concerned for her safety… it wasn't until seven years ago that we found out who her father was. Apparently, it turns out that she is the daughter of Aas, the God of Light and Fire." Llorva's face has been leached of colour.

"So, is this why you two are so secretive?" She adds as she walks up behind him and places a hand on his shoulder.

"No," he replies, "that is a different reason altogether, we were hoping this wouldn't happen again," he states as a tear rolls down his cheek and falls on the bed, "do you know how many people would kill for this power?"

"Yes, I do know," she replies, "my father is…" she begins pacing back and forth through the room.

"Your father is what?" He says slightly raising his voice, Llorva still paces through the room, "Your father is what? Llorva!" He screams.

"My father is the type of person who would kill for this type of power." She murmurs, she leans against the wall and slides down it to sit on the floor, her knees in her arms, "I think I know why he wanted you here." She whispers to herself. She begins to cry.
