Learning Qi (Part 2)

A wave of mixed emotions overwhelmed Gary as he stared at Xin.

Just moments ago, he’d been over the moon, thrilled that he had finally managed to control his hand, preventing it from transforming.

He had been working on it nonstop, every spare second the day before, and even this very morning.

But now, that happiness was dashed away. He had just witnessed Xin manage the same feat, in mere seconds.

“How was she able to do it so easily? Is it because of her amount of Qi? Is she just that talented... or am I just bad?” Gary asked aloud, frustration creeping into his voice.

Innu was surprised as well. He remembered how long it had taken everyone else to learn Qi back when they were training with the Altered Hunters.

The basics of Qi? Sure, that part could be picked up relatively quickly. But mastering it, growing it, refining it, and using it well in combat, that was an entirely different story.
